My oldest brother and I were the only ones in my family who liked the bagpipes. Still like them. Everyone else in family is now gone to their rest. I listen when I can.
Hello from New Zealand, the pipers & drummers are from The Royal Highland Fusiliers No2 Scots. The pipers & drummers wear the Erskine Tartan & the drum major wears Mackenzie tartan trews. 😊🇳🇿❤️🏴
Soldiers are from the Royal Regiment of Scotland (formerly known as The Black Watch). and they wear their own tartan - Black Watch). Hope it helps.@@brucestuart2892
It's amazing when you think about it, how many people the Monarchy employs. The soldiers, (the clothiers, tailors, seamstresses, embroiders, knitters, shoe/boot makers, herald historians, milliners, Instruments, ........ I only wish & hope that all aspect which were animal derived are suitable substitutes). Oh, all the chefs, farmers cleaners..... it just goes on and on......
Correct, each regiment is run as a town on its own. The soldiers take care of almost everything. 1. Soldier with constant phys. exercises, marching and updates on machinery and kit upkeep (they usually have 3 kits). 2. Job Within: Musician. 3. Cook, tailor, shoemaker, stores, laundry, mechanic, drivers, electrician, welders, etc. 3. Each soldier is encouraged to join a club, depending what is there, e,g. boxing, rowing, running etc. The regiment rarely need outside help. Its a busy life within a brotherhood.
2Scots had a Canadian visitor a few months go, he was a piper. They were on parade so he had to wear the Erskine Tartan...he looked good and you could not tell he was not one of them. This was captured on video by Haizhen but I cannot remember the title. She has a lot of videos and does an excellent job.
The first march , ' Cambeldon Loch I wish you were whiskey , Cambeldon Loch ouch aye , Cambeldon lock I wish you were whiskey , I would drink you dry.'
BEAUTIFUL!!!

@@emstirling-is4nu Thank you.
times may change but standards must remain
What's the name of the slow march please? Never heard that one before.
Love a man in a kilt and oooh those beards!!
I would love to see one wear The Canadian Tartan. I personally was never that brave but it’s legal.

Campbelltown?
A real sign of the times @4:58...
Forgive my ignorance but what do the animal skins represent?
The pipes and drums are great but Charles 111 is NOT King of Scotland he has never taken the Scottish Coronation Oath.
No need to, do some research
Many thanks! 👍👍👍❤🫡🏴🇦🇺🦘
