New to Adelaide and so glad I got to that nook sooner rather than later. You basically have everything you could want there. Steep and smooth or steep and tech, jumps at the bottom. Easy self shuttle. If the traffic was evenly spread across the 3 or 4 main descents there they would all be running fairly well considering the type of trails they are.
Hi, I'm really confused and i Need some good explanations from something that knows what is talking about, not some random dude on Reddit. I want to upgrade my fork (currently a rockshox recon RL 150mm) to something higher end but without spending a fortune. I found 3 options: - fox 36 performance with the grip damper - rockshox ZEB ultimate rc2 with charger 2.1 damper (so not the 2023 model) - rockshox lyrik select with charger RC damper (the new 2023 model) I'm searching the best feel out on the trail, good mid stroke support, and don't care too much about having every adjustment possible, and about weight. I'm attracted to the lyrik because of the lower weight (don't care too much about that), the new debonair plus spring and the fact that it's new in general. I don't weight so much to need a ZEB, but I'm considering it because i haven't understand if the charger 2.1 damper in it feels better than the charger RC on the lyrik, or if the lyrik feels better than the zeb because of the newer air spring, also how important is stiffness?, Is the charger RC on the lyrik mew for 2023 or it's the same as the one on the old lyric. I'm considering the fox because everyone seems to suggest it to me but i have a suspect that that's more because of the brand name and not the actual better performance. Which one do you suggest me and why? Thank you so much!
Hello, what are your thoughts on the bike's bottom bracket height in the mullet setup? I've heard it's quite low and might lead to frequent pedal strikes. Have you experienced this issue?
I’m currently running mullet in the mid flipchip position which is quite low. It maks for the best handling but it is also quite prone to pedal strikes. You can run it in the high flipchip position and have plenty of clearance, but for the moment I’m enjoying the current setup with very minimal pedal strikes. Just gotta be aware of the danger
Thanks for the heads up on the nukeproof wheels, I’m going to need a new rear wheel set soon. I know you don’t really like the float X2 shock, but I love mine. Feels very close to a coil shock but with all the adjustability of an air. Personally I think it would work well on that bike.
Yeah I do love the performance of the X2, its the lack of durability that I can’t accept. This Float X is good but its not a heavy performer like the X2 or Superdeluxe
@@mtbtelly5522 Yeah it does need a little more love than others for sure. I’ve got about 1500 km’s on mine and had it serviced twice. The first time was after about 8 rides, the second was after about 1200 km’s. Having said that, I still love this shock. Glad you love the new bike, it looks killer.
I generally count clicks from whichever end I’m closest to. It keeps things simple for me instead of having to potentially go through 18 clicks back and forth to check a setting position etc
They tuned mine L/L but they said there is no light rebound for marzocchi so they stacked shims from old van shock. Still feels slow but its true that i rode it only in cold
With a cleaned out air spring, 1 token 102psi, hsr 2 from closed, lsr 5 from full open, lsc 4-5 from open, hsc 1 from open. Its a little quick and a little light but just floats across everything. Faster trails I’ll run a little more hsc
@@mtbtelly5522 the DH casing DHR - MaxxGrip or the Wirebead Dual Compound? The MaxxGrip is way lighter in the DH casing, but wouldn't last 2wks given how quickly the EXO MaxxTerra wears out :( Going to give a Dual Compound Dissector I have lying around a go (maybe foolishly coming into winter), see how the durability stacks up.

I’ve got the horizons , awesome value for money , but the nukeproof inserts are a bit shit , once I went cushcore was so much better . The hubs are the spank hex hubs rebranded
Ah yeah, I didn’t get the inserts. Cushcore or maybe rimpact I like. I didn’t know about the hub being a spank, but It has crossed my mind the last few days as it seemed basically the same. I’d definitely prefer a quieter hub, but I also enjoy the sharpness of the high engagement
What's so shit about the ARDs? I've been running them for a few moths now with some Magic Marys and Horizon V2s and no issues what so ever. 18psi front 21 psi in the rear. In fact I love the way they damp the trail chatter.
Depends on price, I haven’t ridden the new Hope stuff but hear good things generally. The only thing I don’t like about the Nukeproof wheelset is the noise from the rear hub
Curious if you've had a chance to ride the Trance X 1 or X 2 and how it may compare to the Reign? They're very similar in dimensions.

By the way the 36 will come in at 499€, the ZEB at 559€ and the lyrik at 547€

I generally count clicks from whichever end I’m closest to. It keeps things simple for me instead of having to potentially go through 18 clicks back and forth to check a setting position etc

Just an EXO MaxxGrip. Old faithful. That may change to a thicker casing but for now I’m good with it
