I'm planning for my first ever bike trip, and this was SO helpful. Can't wait to see more of your trip.
Class run down of your complete kit plus the most honest opinion of a mini pump 🤣
Excellent. Just like to add, that super glue can also be used to close small cuts fast.
Thanks for sharing Becky!
Thanks for explaining your setup!
Amazed how much detail in selecting the proper equipment for a trip, pedals, seat, cleats, food, clothing, parts, etc a novice may not consider. Awesome and informative video to supplement the trip video. 🚴
(I consider the coffee a most critical item for any trip)
Thanks so much! :)
Great vid 🤸🥳 I agree re the one sided clipless pedals, as having the option to clip out can help alleviate knee issues on long trips. 😊
Very informative vlog. Thank you.
Looking forward to seeing your film on your adventure in Iceland.
Have a good trip soon.
Take care and stay safe.😊
Thank you Yvonne!
Good point on the folded pole length. I have always had to pack the pole/s seperately which has it's disadvantages.
Can't wait to see that video of your trip
Thanks so much! :)
Becky you are so organised, very impressive, so many items you took to keep the bike going shows how experienced you have become. Coffee is almost the first thing i consider, only the real stuff, not instant. So i need to get one of those filters, where did you get it from? I have a feeling the Iceland video is going to be awesome 😊
Hi Becks. Just those brief snippets have made me really look forward to seeing this trip. xx
It's always good, beneficial to see how others 'load-out' for different regions and geographies, and to learn what was a lifesaver and what was useless! Bill O'
Congratulations on completing it, look forward to the video and seeing what you get up to next. It's all very inspiring and I imagine even more so for young women who watch your channel. 🤟🏻🙏
Thanks for sharing. Always interesting to see what kit people pack, especially for trips where the weather can be severe. I love the look of my fully waterproof seat bag but unfortunately the tip of the bag rubbed against the seat post fitting and made a hole in the tip. Though the manufacturer repaired it but because of this and the fact I want lots of spare room for food on my next trips I'm planning to use tail fin for the rear and top tube. On my LEJOG I had to strap a supermarket bag on the front of my handlebar bag which wasn't ideal. Also want more storage for a warmer sleeping bag and puffy.
I'm the lucky owner of a 1990s Saunders two man Spacepacker tent. It's 2 kg but I can store my bike in one of the side alcoves. It's an awesome tent.
Interesting that you had some success with such a small solar panel. I'll reconsider. May also consider upgrading my GORE to a hooded jacket and purchasing more robust water proof trousers. On my LEJOG I packed ultralight trail running water proof trousers but they quickly wore and lost their waterproofness.
I have extra wide feet and was very lucky to find some shoes that were OK being a size oversized. But they are 2.5 season shoes and I need warmer shoes. Yes, I like cleats also. I love my peddles that are cleats one side and flats the other.
If all goes well I have my eye on GDMBR, trans America and Tour Aotearoa. I think the African and asian trans continentals are beyond me,, especially given the current political climate. I'd like to visit Iceland though I think bike-packing it would be beyond me. Looking forward to your vlog.
Lovely bike tour. That must have weighed a ton!
A great no nonsense kit video Becky, I hadn't thought of the just in case spares needed for your bike. I'm looking forward to your trip videos.
I've been binge watching your videos today. You are an incredible lady. I hope to have a daughter that grows up to be like you one day ❤
Can definitely recommend those Shimano hybrid pedals Becky, I have them on my gravel bike as I sometimes commute on it, just watch for the grub screws on the flat side working loose over time. Don't know if you could use one with the bar ends you have, but there are some OK cafe locks you can get which take the place of a bar end plug and save space. Not going to stop a determined thief obviously but does the job for a quick coffee or shop run.
Love watching your video's, your enthusiasm is infectious. Keep following your dreams.
Fantastic Becky. Awesome kit you got there
Nice bike Becky. Sounded like a fantastic trip. Can't wait to watch your video.
Awesome presentation! Thank you!
Such a great vid. Good luck on ya next adventure 👍🏻🚴♂️
Your video location looks pretty darn cozy, fire wood no issue.
Iceland can wait.....!!
Cheers!
Nice detail, looks like an epic ride, I have been thinking that the saddle bag bikepacking rigs looked pretty wobbly, Bikes used to come with bosses for bolt on racks, that arrangement from tailfin sounds like it good replacement for that.
What an amazing young lady, stay safe and keep enjoying life ❤
Watching you keep pulling gear out of each bag had me wondering if you could teach Mary Poppins a thing or two! 😂 Just when I thought you surely couldn’t have anything else you pulled out half dozen more things. I’m no bike rider but I’m super impressed by organisation, you got me good Ms Becks… 😊 Power to you lil lady 💞
It does sound like it was an epic trip. It is interesting to see the sort of kit that is needed for this kind of trip.
Thank you!! ☺️
@@GirlOutdoors you’re very welcome
I love my Specialized FSR Epic which is probably older than you but it's mint (apart from the scratches when I fall off) 😂😂
Hahaha shows you they last! Love it :)
Really good load out Becky. Did you leave the bike box/duffel at a hotel?
Bike packing just converted my mountain bike for this put rack on paineers do Pennine way next year bike route UK coast to coast on bike getting my fitness levels up.by cycling everywhere and bike riding on weekends prepared physical challenge ahead inspired by Ur videos
I enjoy your videos. I also envy your zeal and enthusiasm. Keep doing what you love.😂
Great video Becky!!!!
Yes regarding bikes tubeless is much better i use old school tubes and i cycle around 70 miles a week around Cornwall and i do get a fair few punctures which is annoying but i love cycling it really is great to get out head somewhere rural and just enjoy the ride, the route and the scenery - So good for mental health aswell as your overall health! Well done on your journey sounds like a right epic mission
I've been running tubeless on all of my bikes for years now. Only one major MTB incident requiring a plug and a weird sidewall issue requiring a new tyre. Apart from that I've been puncture free. Including my road bike.
That Katadyn BeFree is a hollow fiber filter. Carbon filters are different and not compatible with this bottle system. You have to buy a different pump to use a carbon filter. Hydroblue Versaflow has a light carbon filter.
Another wonderful video by the most awesome young lady bringing joy to the masses. I find my self watching your videos more than once, just to see the joy you have in your endeavors. I will wait impatiently for your trip video. May your upcoming trip be fulfilling and meet all your expectations. I think for me I would have to double the amount of coffee you took lol.
Thank you so much John! Really appreciate the comment 😊 haha glad you’re a fellow coffee lover!
Next chalange, with roles all along Greenland? Let's go.
Hi @Becky one question on your bike box. How did you store it for your return journey please? Can’t wait for your trip video!
Lovit your videos 🤘😉🚵
Very interesting. 👍
Here we have advice from a top-class biker and bike traveler.
What a nice detailed video on the bikepacking setup! Just one question, do airlines allow to take cooking stove and gas with you?
Salutations from the Maldives.
Awesome as per usual becky 🙏🤘🤘🤘👊
Well done 👍
Thanks for the great load out. Very useful for planning trips. Can I ask the Brand of your solar panel? It looks a lot less bulky than the ones I have been looking at
Hi Beck, I wonder where are your aerobars from…thank you in advanced and blessings🌟😊
If you could post an affiliate link it will be awesome, so I can support you🙌🏻
@@franCiska8799this! Hello Franciska from Poland 🇵🇱🐶 and my rural life channe😊
What an inspirational young woman you are.
Looking forward to seeing your new videos 👍
Thank you!! :)
amazing vidoe i enjoy cool pretty stunning queen looks aweosme looking forward can not wait 🥰❤❤
Great video Becky 😊 can I ask for the name of the solar panel you used? Thanks
Amazing. 😀
very interesting. What I am surprised at is that you could take gas onto the flight into Iceland or did you buy the gas when you reached Iceland. I am looking forward to watching your Iceland Trek. Good luck on your next trip.
Hi Becky, where did you get your cnoc water bottle from, would really like one for my water filter xx
Dear me it's like moving house lol I think I'll just stay at home n watch you beck stay well n safe Phil from the shire ❤👍
Yes! Great video but it is like 10K worth of kit to go camping with!!
do you need mounts for the tailfin bags?
This was super interesting. I found the sound in this video was a bit up and down. But nonetheless a great video.
I hope you spok withvBjörk to stop the Vulcans; the Blue Lagun was open?
☘️🐺☘️
🌍👍👍👍
bring some Swim googles with you next time!!!
I ❤ Becky
I love you!!
Iceland is how the world looked like before man's expansion. Rugged and spectacular. NB comfort for your bottom is very important
i miss buster :-)
What was the total weight of your bike and equipment ? you certainly got a lot of stuff on their.
There*👍🏻
what's the trip you are going on in the next two weeks?
🎉🎉🎉🎉😅😅😀😀😀👍👍
Can you send a link to the pump ?
Who’s filming you if you went solo?
Some thoughts from my bike trips...
Why would you suffer in those shoes? Unless you are racing, just put regular pedals and wear comfy shoes to walk. There's no need to suffer on your bike or when you need to push it. And you won't have to carry another pair.
Appart from the peddals, the saddle and handlebar are where most of your weight will be distributed. You want a comfy saddle and haddlebar or you will be in pain and your hands will become numb. Don't carry any extra weight on you, no backpack or water, put everything on the bike.
Unless it's very hot, quilts are a bad idea. Take a sleeping bag instead, you can always open it and rotate it 45 degrees to use it as a comfy quilt with a footbox.
Carry one extra empty plastic water pouch (like platypus but without the hose), they weight almost nothing and can carry a lot of extra water when needed.
Hello My Becky Babe.
Running tubless is in my opinion is a potential trip killer - especially over such rugged terain. I don't want anything high maintainace on self supported cycle, hel - I rock V-brakes on my regular touring bike 🤣It's a loaded bike, 400 grams doesn't make difference. I won't go into names, but there is a YT-ber who's bikepacking videos are divided into chapters by how they keep on struggling with tubless and yet - they take it on every next ride. Nevertheless - great ride, congrats and I'm looking forward to see the journey up close.
Everything is possible with a man’s help ladies 😊
Keep telling yourself that 😂😂
I hope you stayed away from the Grindavik area.
You can’t be doing with stuff that’s Shite on a trip like that.😂
