    Hey, about the seatbelts. I can confirm its crazy how strong they are. I used work at a junkyard on a frontend Loader. Some guys would come in every day, pull motors and collect them at the end of the week. I've seen those belts pick up 2 or 3 truck motors at a time as I put them in the back of a truck. Its Crazy!!!

    • @dosnova
      @dosnova 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Saying that, know one is around when I do this with multiple motors, some belts have broken. But picking up a single motor is fine!

    • @hondaresource
      @hondaresource  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice! I've never tried to lift multiple with one belt but they are incredibly strong, super adjustable and not likely to damage anything on the engine.

    If the valves are not adjusted properly every 60,000 miles they drop down and they get chipped by the Piston head eliminating the compression I've got a valve if you want to look at it! The VTech engine that Honda brought out in the second generation which I have one of those as well is the bulletproof one! First one is terrific as long as you remember valve adjustment keep the oil clean good videos cheers mate

    • @Mudpuppyjunior
      @Mudpuppyjunior ปีที่แล้ว

      What actually happens with this generation of motor is poor valve seats. If the valves are not adjusted frequently enough [I suggest 30,000 miles] they seat themselves too deep in the valve seat and lose their clearance. The valve then stays partially open during combustion and in a short time you have a burnt valve and no compression on that cylinder. It looks like a chip because the edge of the valve is burnt out, but if the valve and the piston actually hit the piston will also be damaged and the valve will usually be bent not chipped.

    • @hondaphan4172
      @hondaphan4172 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Mudpuppyjunior I currently have 300.800 miles on my '98 CRV which I bought new in March of that year and in my case I've found checking/adjusting the valve clearance every 30K to be overkill. Over the years I've slowly experimented on how far I could stretch out the intervals and the last three times I've done it at the 50K mark and even at that mileage mark I've only had to make small adjustments to several of them.

    Any one know how easy or difficult it is to put a 1999 engine in a 1998 body?

    • @hondaresource
      @hondaresource  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not too bad, just swap the intake manifold and distributor

    • @AlphaBravo-hh7rp
      @AlphaBravo-hh7rp ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok, thanks. Hoping to get it done this week sometime.
      Just wondering though, if I swap out the intake manifold does that mean I will have 20 less horse power and worse fuel mileage like the 1998 engine does?

      Hey, you mind if I direct message by email or something. Having transmission problems and it’s hard to find someone that knows a lot about the CRV here in Manitoba Canada.

    Hey man. I got everything all done an the motor is ready to be pulled only thing is the one bolt on the t bracket closest to the motor. There is a bracket on my intake i guess for weight support (the one the o2 sensor hooks up to) and i cant get that mount off because the tbracket is kind of blocking the last bolt and the t brackets bolt is blocked by that i hope i described it well enough for you to help or give me a suggestion or how you got it out

    • @hondaresource
      @hondaresource  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you referring to the bolt at the top of the bracket?
