      Great video on virtue signaling Thomas. If even done at all in a clinical setting, the identification of metabolic syndrome risk factors (MSRF) is not being assessed in the context of ancestrally appropriate reference ranges. The abundance pathogen is a mind virus degrading aggregate morality in the skinner box of a death cult. A neo-social gulag to be sure.

      @Dust Storm very impressed sir. As a 47 yr old, I found myself with health issues all of which stemmed from a "Board Certified Doctor " telling me to eat whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, daily! I wrecked my health, but since watching Dr. Paul Saladino and Dr. Ken Berry a few months ago, I've turned my health around, lost weight, optimal on cholesterol levels and on the brink of reversing diabetes, all in about 6 months...good to hear you are doing well at 65! You're an inspiration, sir! As you know, the Carnivore diet gets a lot of heat but hopefully science can prove otherwise. Are you a trainer? Registered Dietitian? What do you do as far as you mentioning clients in your comment.

    I have taken the position that humans are naturally lipovores, we have evolved to eat fats and only eat infrequently. Instead of thinking of purposefully temporarily placing ourselves in fat-burning fasts as some kind of break from a regular pattern of all-day eating, we should be thinking of as briefly placing ourselves in a fed state which breaks from our normal state of being in fat-burning day-long ketosis. It may seem pedantic, but changing your state of mind changes the way you feel about the behavior.

    Gosh I wish there was someone to actually discuss all this with. I have struggled with my weight my whole life and nothing has ever worked for me unless I become a complete gym junkie - I think God gave my metabolism to someone else 🤷🏼‍♀️
    Unfortunately, I had most of my liver removed 12 months ago, then got really sick, have spent all my time since in bed, put on a heap of weight (stupidly depressed and did not have a healthy diet during this period, all my own fault) and am still stuck mostly in bed. So no current possibility of returning to the gym 😔
    I have tried so many different things than I’ve ever tried before to try and turn things around & I’m still not losing weight. I went vegan first, then started keto. I’m currently doing a 20hr fast with a 4hr eating window, starting with lemon & acv to break the fast, then my first meal is a 1 egg omelette with a 1/4 avocado. Then in the fourth hour I have a green smoothie - kale, cucumber, spinach, broccoli, green apple, lemon, mint, ginger - about a litre altogether including pulp. Oh and an almond milk matcha tea in the middle. And that’s it.
    I’m happy having the same meal everyday as I’m too sick and tired to be any more creative with my diet atm. I watch a lot of videos about all of this, however, as I start to follow one person another will come along and give the opposite advice - or even worse it’s the same person releasing contradictory videos e.g. one video saying don’t eat nuts, next video is all about the benefits of eating pistachios.
    I’m so confused now as to what is right or wrong. I’m also extremely tired of being sick. What on earth am I doing wrong? Can someone please release a simple, up to date, 12 step keto plan from start to finish 🤦🏼‍♀️😞
    Apologies and ty to anyone who’s read my rant, sometimes it feels better to just get it out there and try again to keep moving forward ☺️

  • @PlusDefender
    @PlusDefender 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Are you technically kicked out of a fast first thing in the morning when your insulin levels naturally rise due to the dawn effect and after you workout? Not sure how this works. If your fasting and your blood glucose levels naturally rise since your body always needs some sort of glucose then wouldn’t your body be working to get the glucose back down to normal? Would this still be considered a fasted state?

    • @rappatenebrense
      @rappatenebrense 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep, if you think about it eating carbs every other day+fasting might be even better than straight keto for developing met flexibility. You are forcing your body to constantly switch fuels. Keto+fasting is good but the body is already in a fat burning mode, so fasting would only mean you are switching from burning more of the dietary fat and more of the body fat.

      @@eliassanchez4252 My wife and I just completed a 64 hour water fast with only the Pink Himalayan Salt and KetoChow electrolyte drops. Supposedly at 58 hours your metabolism does a reset. We've been Keto for 11 months and 18/6 with a few 23/1 IF every week for the last 7 or 8 months We weren't really even hungry after the 64 hours we just decided it was long enough. After you are fat-adapted your body uses fat for fuel more efficiently, hence we weren't hungry. FYI - I believe the salt and electrolyte drops help a lot.

    Love these science focused videos, Thomas. I am a sucker for biochemistry. I used to draw detailed drawings of organelles back in college. I went into brain studies as college went on, but I have to say, the mitochondria stuff was one of my favorite subjects, those electron transport chains are so interesting. I remember seeing “ubiquinone” written in the textbooks in the transport chain and that was the moment I figured out what the hell CoQ10 was for. I was so proud of myself for knowing that ubiquinone was CoQ10. Everyone in the class rolled their eyes at my exciting realization, since I had one every class 😆 Good times.

      I would not go overboard if I was you, otherwise you are going to be turned off by it and say "I can't do this." My wife and I are just finishing a 58 hour fast that is supposed to be the magic hour number to reset your metabolism and we aren't really hungry at all. But we are fat-adapted and have been doing Keto/Omnivore/IF for 6 months or more. IF is Intermittent fasting. We do 18 hour fasts every day with a 23 hour fast thrown in once or twice a week. A person has to come to the realization that you eat for sustenance NOT enjoyment or fun. I know that sounds boring but your going to live a lot longer and be healthier and probably be on do drugs. I would start with just skipping breakfast and if you eat at noon and let's say 7pm you're already doing a 17 hour fast and keep your carb load low like under 50 and have a goal of under 30.
      Also, another thing you can do is binge watch Thomas DeLauer and Dr Berry and Dr Cywes TH-cam videos.

    I'm about to do my first prolonged fast (aiming for 48-72 hours) and I was wondering if it's ok to drink sparkling water during the fast? I have a soda stream at home so it's just water and C02 nothing else added. would that disrupt the fast? I've watched a few videos about prolonged fasts and no one mentioned sparkling water so I am curious
