Thomas 73! I enjoy your CW activations greatly. Trying to get my CW up to speed LOL to start doing some myself. I have a question regarding the Elecraft AX_AX1 antennas. How do they work with the IC 705?
It's a bit challenging to show the LCD screen properly when making the video and holding the KH1 in my hand. I try to do this, though, when operating on a a table.
I scrapped the stock counterpoise wire almost immediately in favor of some Yellow BNTechGo 28 gauge silicone wire. Stock counterpoise wire has the memory of an elephant. BNTechGo has the memory commensurate of myself when my wife asks me to do something. Larger than 28 Guage BNTechGo won't fit into the counterpoise hooks on the KH1.
Thanks for hunting me on 20M, sorry it didn't work out. I was actually heard pretty well at 27:10 or so, but it dropped out again. Cool video, a little different than your usual. 73 --n1bs
Nice impromptu video. Enjoy hearing you on the podcast. Operated 100w portable from beech mtn’s lot yesterday. By the way, Local NC operator takes QRMer to court and wins no contact order or keep him off the 444.450 repeater. Interview tonight on Ham Radio Now at 6pm EST.
Nice to see a POTA hunting experience. Question....With the KH-1, when using the automatic tuner, is it ok to tune on the activator's frequency or better to qsy to a clear frequency nearby, then return to the activator's frequency?
Honestly I never recommend tuning on the activators frequency. It’s one thing for SSB but on CW it makes decoding other stations extremely difficult since you are adding a 700 Hz tone to a pile of people sending 700 Hz tones. It’s one of my pota pet peeves.
I’m imagining activation of FREE car charging locations. Thomas will be all over it. So… not sure is having an electric or using your car is mandatory.

Nice to have a very small radio you can have with you most of the time. I wish I could see the CW decode to help with my CW learning.

Shine on KH1.
Happy Christmas Thomas.
Back at you, David, and Happy New Year!

I love this kind of experimentation (playing around) since this is what I mostly do. 73!
I've had that issue lately as well. I can hear many stations. But no POTA activators.

We'll get it next time!

Hi Thomas, what camera are you using? 72
The DJI OSMO 4: amzn.to/3Tf89TH

Yes, as Jonathan said, you should never tune up on an activator. Move at least 500Hz-1kHz away to tune and it won't interfere with them.
You're always hunting. If not for POTA, you're hunting for a charger for your car.
Here comes CCOTA, Car Chargers On The Air.
@@DaveW6OOD so instead of park to park, is it car to car or charge to charge?

🤣
What software you are using on the cell phone for checking who is on what frequency?
I simply point my phone's browser to POTA.app
@@ThomasK4SWL Thank you!! I'm going there
