You the realest Andrew. My channel has grown significantly due to the fact that I've been focusing on TH-cam and Google search. And by so, I've made the rightly placed tags which are highly ranked stand out with my videos. I've gained over 800k + views and my major traffic sources are youtube and Google search. I've also been hearing big TH-camrs say they irrelevant and I had same theory as what you said as to they already commanding the masses so particularly need no time to add proper tags... Hello Treadmill Sprinter, as we said focus your tags around the target keyword. IF we see any that are gaining traction we will recommend, but it's better for you to focus on what people are searching for around that target :D

Good question, if you simply add hashtags anywhere in your video descriptions, the hashtags will then show up above your title. TH-cam will only show up to 3 hashtags, just as an FYI :)

Using tags unrelated to your content is against TH-cam's Terms and could get your video removed. There is a 500-character limit, not words; the tags can be long or short. we certainly use all 500 characters for tags and use many UK and USA spellings for music improvisation and music improvization

That's always going to be relevant to your video, and includes your tags so YES add it :D
