Seriously, thanks. I got a jacket in the mail today which was measured to size. I have many denim vests and jackets. This is the only one that did not hang over my belt line. It really made me question if I should return it and if it was a normal fit. I see now it is normal despite me not being used to a fit like this in my other denim jackets. Manufacturers differ in fit.
I just got me 2 denim jackets from Zara. The light blue and the dark denim. They fit me perfect all around minus the sleeves are just a little to long!!
Is the tight/constricted fit too small? My denim jacket looks really good, I like the fit and length of everything, but my only issue is when i try crossing my arms like you demonstrated, it feels tight. Going up a size would make everything else big, I'm wondering if I should keep it and get use to that tight feeling and maybe it will loosen up over time?
That’s why I suggest going for one with stretch fabric material to get a good fit and not limiting movement at the same time but maybe with time it will loosen up

I always have problems with jackets cuz I’m slim, but have a wide back and I should be ‘medium’ but feels tight in shoulders and back. I have to pick up ‘large size’ and go to the tailor to fit it. At the end, maybe a little long, no so sexy, but versatile and looks good. A little oversized I’d say!

As a short and skinny guy (5'6), it's hard to find denim jackets that fit perfectly otr, however as long as they fit on my shoulders/torso and the lenght is right on the mid crotch (the shorter the better but no longer than this) I think they look pretty cool, you can always roll up the sleeves (or get them shortened but I don't mind) and you can layer them without feeling too bulky.
I purchased a new denim jacket and wonder why it was so short... Now I get! its really supposed to be short! But, it also depends on the brand too, Levi’s newer jackets are slightly longer on the hem. Thank you, your guide helped me a lot.

Yea denim jackets could be stiff and offer no stretch at all. That’s why I recommend everyone to opt for a jacket that has some elastane to be able to move freely

I have Levi's t-shirts since 2012 and jeans. In the t-shirt i have men L size. But I am very-very thinking what should I buy in sherpa. M or L because in M size it ends in the hip or above my belt (i wear 511 jeans), but in my arms its a very little short. Yea it’s fine to do one cuff if the jacket is a bit long. Rolling the sleeve also gives it a more relaxed look as well. I don’t suggest this with other jackets though

If you’re a tall guy and can’t find a long enough denim jacket, I just discovered Old Navy. They have tall sizes that fit flawlessly!!! I’m 6’3” 230lbs and wear shirt sleeves length of 36/37.. I got their trucker denim jacket Large Tall and they had a sale going on making it $21!!! Unreal!! Also GAP has tall sizes so check them out as well
Measure your shoulders and check the measurements on the product page. Your height actually doesn't help much when deciding the size of things, your measurements do.

LordStanley it’s actually a good thing if it’s not too snug because denim can limit your movement if it’s too tight

My suggestion is to check our the size chart before purchasing. Knowing your measurements helps online shopping easier
I got a levi trucker jacket at a garage sale or 5 bucks. It fits well, accept in the arm area, where the arms are very baggy.

You can roll it up, that’s cool and if anything you can always get it hemmed by a tailor for like $10 bucks or so.

A good tailor should be able to get it fitting right. If it’s the sleeve length and torso area, it should be an easy fix for a tailor.

Yea it’s fine to do one cuff if the jacket is a bit long. Rolling the sleeve also gives it a more relaxed look as well. I don’t suggest this with other jackets though

To me the jacket is too tight when It's form fitting like a shirt, and too short when it doesn't come down below the waist.
