I ordered Tesla Model 3 performance, and then i meet guy with EQB 300, then i go to Mercedes dealership for a test drive... i canceled Tesla order and order EQB ...
Actually I bought w206 220d 😂 because electric cars is not for me … but now I have aEQB as a second car and everything is good… but the real range on EQB300 is maximum 300km, when you go 160km/h then it’s only 170-180km range… now I got 10k km with no problem.
My wife just got an EQB 300. Thankfully at MSRP. Unfortunately ours doesn’t have auto seats. They just credited us for it. It was a fair trade off to find this at the price point and without having to wait. She loves it.
Great job Jordan. Very interesting that someone would purchase a bare bones EQB without adaptive cruise control or lane centering etc. Instead of a loaded ionic five, EV6 etc haha
We just got our 2024 EQB four days ago. First thing we did a day later was going on a 400km (~250 miles) roundtrip. Car drives nice. It’s fully equipped with a list price just shy of €80k. That is absolutely crazy. Thank god it’s a company car. Our previous hybrid GLC with the same equipment had a €76k price tag in 2020. Make of that all you want. The premium stereo is fantastic. It tales you through an entire sound profile set up (if you dare) during which it lets you set up the sound behavior of your stereo way beyond more / less bass. Overall it drives nice. Top speed is only 163 kph (just over 100 mph), which is a bit slow for German roads. Rest of world would care, I guess. When living in the U.S. we almost never crossed 90 mph anyways. It pulls nicely all to the limiter. But driving that fast will limit ones range. We got an realistic 240-250km (150-155mls) out of the battery. But that’s at all out German-highway-speed, which really means lots of hard breaking and hard acceleration. 😂 Charging speed at 100kw/h is rather suspect, but well… Our son loves the car, as it’s so quiet. Ride is comfortable with the premium setup. Mercedes app works well. However, if you’ve ever owned / drove a Tesla you’d miss the full on phone-as-a-key feature. It always needs you to have the key on you, which a Tesla does not require. One thing that’s annoying to me: no real one-pedal-driving. It does well up to about 5 mph, after which it just keeps creeping along. That could be better. Takes away from the experience when driving in city traffic. (I know, I am lazy). MBUX in the 2024 is way more modern than in this video. That’s about it.
Nice .. love the videos. little crazy to me that a $60 Mercedes, has less standard basic safety equipment like radar cruise, lane departure etc.. than a base model Toyota Corolla.
I am very surprised on reading the comments regarding how poor the specs are on this EQB 350 . Here in the UK it is fully specced & the only add on one gets when configuring the 350 is Driving Assistance Package & the rest of the well specced vehicle are all standard. I have a pdf file of my configuration which shows all the kit available in this vehicle if anyone wants to see it.
@@johnwallace2384 Seems to me the safety equipment should be standard on a car that expensive. That's the only thing that really bugged me. How ridiculous that a base model Toyota Corolla has more standard driver assistance.
@@H.avery355 Aug 16. Any EV manufactured outside North America does not Qualify. Unless they amend the law again... but as of today it does not qualify
Hey Jordan, did you do the Mercedes Me setup with MBUX? Without that it won't enable the EQ functionality that is included. You definitely need the account to be setup first, or the navigation will just be the same as with a regular combustion car. Otherwise no surprises for a shared platform car from Mercedes.
I have the EQB 300 and purchase it over the model Y because it ride, built quality and the luxury interior. Very sporty ride, smooth and planted ride. The only car that i like over it is the IX BMW, amazing ride and Handling. The IX is my next EV!!!
Was debating between this EQB 350 4matic and the Audi Q4 50 e-tron quattro. At the end the Audi was significantly less expensive, has more range and felt like a better EV due to its purpose built MEB architecture. The Mercedes wins in interior quality and material use, but in Canada where a loaded EQB 350 is close to $91k CAD while the Q4 e-tron clocks in at $78k, this is a no brainer.
Completely agree, how is keyless entry not standard?!! I finally found my EQB and made sure it had Keyless entry. It’s included in the Exclusive Trim level
Went with the EQB350 because I got it for MSRP and did not have to pay a crazy markup, this was 5-6 months ago. The other options were far more expensive with the markups.
But it's not really drivable under 10% especially in winter (look up Bjorn's test). Plus some (like me) have problems with chinese owned companies. As for you dimensions "meh" - Hyundai Kona is "only" 9" shorter than XC40, is that also "meh"?
@@petrkubena Meh, I'm rarely under 10% or that cold in South FL, lol. Meh, Kona EV is more of a sub-compact SUV and $35k, I think the eqb and XC40, would be considered compact SUV.
I would get the EQB over the Y because of the more luxurious interior and the smooth ride. However the Y excels in performance and driving range so it's a toss up. Just wish the interior of the Y didn't look so darn ugly.
I'd go for the base EQB 250 (FWD), and add ventilated seats and the Burmester sound system. But I'd definitely cross-shop it with a Kia EV6 Wind (RWD) edition, which has more quoted range, faster charging potential, better standard equipment, and a lower price.
If the EQE SUV does start under $80k to qualify for Federal Tax Credits then this Hungarian made EQB doesn't make sense. Except for maybe an absolute base spec.

Just last weekend I drove the model three on Friday and the EQ be on Sunday. I also chose the EQ be over the model way. To me, it felt more luxurious, and the dry felt better. True, it did not have as much power, but it felt as if it was better made. Also, I already have a model three and the Y felt like a tall version of the model three. I also think the, Mercedes has more trunk space than the Y does although I could be wrong. Lastly, I live in Florida and the Mercedes had ventilated seats. Hard to pass that up.😂😂
for someone who needs 7 seater EV. Not so many alternatives (Model Y and EQB only? for relatively reasonable price. Model X much more expensive), otherwise 3 models from Hyundai corporations, especially GV60 leaves EQB in a dust.
Great test. $75,000 for 211 miles???!!! I guess it's 2015. That's ridiculous. What has happened to Mercedes? Unless you spend $150,000, this is what you get.

I wouldn't buy it, but Mercedes is hoping you will because it's the cheapest way to get an electric "7-seater". Otherwise it's pretty terrible value when compared to the Hyundai/Kia/Génesis or even Tesla.
Dollar for dollar, Mercedes offers the absolute worst value of the German big three. Super cheaply made base cars with very expensive options. If you don’t need 250+ miles of range (and you don’t), you can get a lightly used e-Tron for the same money.
Because that's how everyone does range tests, right? lol. FYI, weight doesn't really have an impact on highway range. It does have a small impact on city range during acceleration and breaking, although it should be minor given that EVs regen when coming to a stop.
