    Being 54 I'm sooooo glad to see boarding of all kinds going strong. Back in the 70's we had board shops with wheels of all colors and sizes lining the walls like a color explosion. Now, boarding with my adult kids, son 24 and daughter 26 is freaking awesome! I love it! Boarding in NYC and up by me on newly paved scenic bike paths is priceless. When my daughter comes to visit she always asks what board she should take. LOL! Keep up the good work with tips and inspiration so boarding keeps going! ;)

    Thanks for the upload.
    At 1:04 you mentioned long board is "easier" and at 1:16 you mentioned you started learning with a skateboard and build yourself up to a long board.
    For me as a beginner in both, is it wise to start with a longboard and will it be easier? I don't feel confident using a skateboard. I tried when I was in highschool and gave up due to fear of falling and not knowing the how to's.
    I'm contemplating to buy a long board to learn. What do you think? Cheers and big thanks in advance.

    • @yaranegrete
      @yaranegrete  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you can afford a longboard then I would go with longboard to learn. I just mention skateboard cause they are more budget friendly for beginners but it is different in certain aspects then longboarding due to the space you have it’s a lot more balanced and the wheels are usually better on a longboard less chances of falling bc of a hole in the ground.

    Ive been longboarding for almost 8 months but decided to watch it anyways. I love how that area of Mckinney looks. Here in Arlington/Grand Prairie area, the roads and sidewalks aren't in the best condition besides a few walking and biking paths so I've had my fair share of almost getting launched off into the pavement 😂

    I’m a beginner longboarder and considering my first longboard purchase. Should or can I purchase an electric board or just Reg to begin?

      electric boards are easy to pick up on but due to the speed you can reach I would recommend practicing on a regular board if possible your stance . It depends on the electric board your going to purchase they are some that stop and go backwards others that only go forward. They are eboards that are stiff and others that are loose. The stiffer the board easier to balance but less ability to curve.

      @@yaranegrete hi yara.. i did your step one and step two. But I'm still afraid to put my pushing leg on the board. Are there any tips on that? On how to put your kicking leg on the board?

    • @yaranegrete
      @yaranegrete  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@musouvoid1329 yes practice at a park that has a bench nearby and hold on while practicing shifting your weight another method is you practice on the grass balancing and shifting your foot and then taking it off. If you have a friend you can have someone walk side by side and hold their hands while shifting drive foot. best bet is get comfortable with the first steps and then shift the drive foot back on the board when by yourself.
