I would have stayed inside myself.
This place is totally awesome! It would probably take you at least a week to really cover it. I would love to see a revisit. Great video, thank you very much Tony. Take care. 😊

    Tony! No need to apologize!
    We enjoy everything you do!
This is a jewel of a Columbarium, and you have documented it very well, and even if you missed parts, you can go back and see and document more!

Did you talk to Emmett, the caretaker? He's super nice and has a wealth of knowledge about the place.
Neighborhood residents actually go in there VOTE in there on election days. Yes, it's a polling place!

Years ago, I visited the original Ferncliff Mausoleum in Westchester, New York. It also had a columbarium area, but with solid marble crypt covers so that you could not see any urns or containers. Well one crypt had a curtain in front, and when I looked behind, the stone cover was missing. Inside was not a fancy urn. Rather, it was like a quart paint can, with a name and dates on a taped on paper label. Very disillusioning.

Yeah, I have seen containers like that before. Usually from the old days.

I have often wondered why the older urns are so large? Maybe they contain more than one person or maybe the cremation techniques were different? Today the cremains are put through a type of grinder in order to get the parts that do not burn up completely (heart muscle, teeth, chunks of bone) ground into a more powdery form. Maybe back in the day that was not possible necessitating a larger container.

Any of the large ones that I’ve seen most of the time have several names on them so probably multiple people or meant for multiple people at some point.

I'm still hoping to find a friend of mine in there. Karl Mason who died in 2020. I haven't been by there since he passed. I live in Arizona. I've contacted the columbarium to try and get the location of his niche. But they never respond to me.
