Thanks you for your comments! I do my best to keep up with them for the first few days after a video comes out, but due to the volume of comments on all of my videos, and to the general hustle and bustle of life, I must give up the fight after a while. If you are leaving a question four or more days after a video comes out I can't guarantee I'll see it, but perhaps one of my other viewers knows the answer and can help out. Thanks in advance to those who contribute and share their knowledge. Cheers and stay safe everyone!

I bought a Surron Ultra Bee about 2months ago and I love it. It is super light with plenty of grunt. A friend has a ten acre property just near town and he also owns a Ultra Bee so we set up a track. None of his nearby neighbours complain about noise because these bikes are quiet and they run for hours on a single charge. Long enough to wear me out. The brake are very strong and the suspension is good.

I picked up an Ultra Bee last week. I couldn't be happier.
I am selling my gas dirt bike now because I don't need it anymore. The Surron is so flickable, so light and immediate torque...and no clutch or stalling. It is so easy to ride.

I have a Storm bee and absolutely love it, use it mainly for my daily commute and get more range then expected riding solid 40-50 mph most of the time with the occasional full throttle pull after clocking 60 miles I usually have 30% battery left, also love to be able to go Offroad and pretty much tackle everything I want and do it in silence which is priceless in my opinion, love the basically no maintenance and simplicity of use,....I have just about 6000 miles on the bike and tires and a new chain is the only thing I have done to the bike, the Storm bee take a coolant and a gear oil change but it's minimal and super simple,
As batteries improve as they will pretty fast, range will also improve dramatically, performance is phenomenal with a 0-60 in just over 4 seconds and a 75 mph top speed and butter smooth no heat ride.

  • @TapioBlue

I'm up in North Bay, just got one a week ago. Totally love this thing, not intimidated by any trail on it. I rode 60 km to 22% battery mostly on eco doing closer to 50 kmh.
Surprised how versatile it is. The slow speed is amazing, it's like you can go 1 kmh riding the pegs. But crank it and wow does it rip.
Definitely studding my tires for late fall, may consider the snow kit for it.

Your review is spot on. I've owned a Storm Bee since Nov 2021 and an Ultra Bee since February 2023. We live in the mountains, off-road but with grid electricity. We're actually quite far from petrol stations but can recharge at home. I love both bikes for different reasons. They complement each other. However, I ride the Ultra Bee more because I ride very steep, technical mountain terrain near my home (a yurt camp). The Storm Bee is better on hard packed tracks which are in the valleys where I live.
I'm not keen on the idea of the upgrade to 21/18 wheel sets and tires. They are crazy expensive but if you have money to throw away, why not? You might get better handling but lose a lot of performance. Then need a new rear sprocket and chain. If anything, I want to strip my Ultra Bee down and make it lighter still.
I just changed the back tire to a more aggressive Motoz Tractionator 90/100-19". It's not much heavier but has much more aggressive knobs for loam. I did add KTM full wrap hand guards because I smashed the Ultra Bee's stock ones.

FYI I put 18/21 on my ultra bee and couldn’t be happier:) it didn’t rob any power and I didn’t change the sprocket. This bike actually really needs this upgrade. The 19 on front is to small, it causes the front to wash out.

Its all relative. It's all good for 3 hours if you're not riding hard terrain, don't need to go to far and are light-weight (weight plays a big factor for bat life). That will suit a small percentage of riders but not many. Wouldn't consider an e bike as i don't fit into any of the above categories. Again, its all relative hence, they won't be the future in their current form but may be the futre for some.

Yeah, the numbers that e-motorcycle companies like to quote about their horsepower and torque are borderline intentionally deceptive, considering what the common motorcycle buyer is used to seeing and understanding.
    Myths:
-Electric motorcycles do not generate full torque at 0 rpm, and not even at low speed. If they would be programmed to do that, electrical equipment would be taxed with heat and the motorcycle would be unrideable (flip over backwards).
-The ridiculous torque numbers they quote are difficult for the common person to understand, because comparing an e-bike to a ice-bike is not a 1:1 situation due to all gearing reductions from a combustion engine to the wheel vs. the reduction of an electric motor to the wheel. People don't realize how powerful a combustion engine is when all the power is reduced through the transmission in 1st gear to the rear wheel. It's VERY high torque.
-Of course the EV companies are going to quote the absolute best electrical range their machine will achieve. It's "good" marketing, even if it has no relevance to the majority of buyers/users.
-EV's are not that clean. They are not a pollution reducer. The overall impact on the planet that Ev's have is actually worse until some pretty high mileage, which I doubt very much the average EV owner will ever achieve.
Finally, EV's low maintenance is mostly traded for high cost. You stop changing oil, filters, plugs, air filters, and the like...... but you trade that time and small cost for a big chunk of up-front money, and if you keep it long enough, a big chunk of battery-replacement money. You still have to change tires, drive components, bearings, any coolant that might be involved.
EV companies can jack around all the factors endlessly to have the customer believe they are doing better or well to buy an alternative system, but in the end, it's not really that much different. Trading time for big dollars. It's easy enough to acquire aluminum, steel, rubber, wires, a few computer boards, and plastic to make a motorcycle. It's not easy enough to acquire a ton of lithium, cobalt, and a host of highly toxic chemicals to make batteries, and then end up using the existing (already taxed) electrical grid powered by gas, coal, and nuclear to power it. Also recycling common combustion vehicles is easy and readily reusable. Not so much with lithium batteries. The operation risk between a combustion bike and an EV is quite different as well. Get a fire started in a lithium battery, may as well run off a distance and watch it burn to the ground because you won't put it out.
