it's really not that different. The different characters get their own personalised intro at the start, one of them gets killed off immediately just to prove the bombs are real (KGBeast/SlipKnot), Harley and Deadshot are the main focus of the team, Waller wants the squadto kill a former member that turned on her (Riddler/Enchantress), Joker has little screen time compared to everyone else. Only real difference is this one had more Batman in it, being an actual Batman film.
I love how in so many adaptations, the same voice actors are used for DC characters because they fit their roles so well. Troy Bakers Joker, Kevin Conroy’s Batman, Nolan North’s Penguin. So good every time.

I think seeing Batman absolutely kick ass is part of what makes Assault on Arkham so great: Because he isn't the main character of the story (the Suicide Squad is) he doesn't have to be nerfed to extend drama; in fact, as he serves as an antagonist for the "Heroes", Batman being overpowered actually makes the stakes higher. Which is why the scene with Nigma's arrest is a good way to introduce and establish Batman as a considerable threat to the protagonists.

At what point did the cops have the Zsasz situation under control? Sure, he was backed into a corner, but he still had a knife to her throat. And its Victor Zsasz, he's a psychotic serial killer obsessed with killing people, so there was a high possibility of her dying no matter what the cops did.
It's insane that none of the guards employed at Arkham Asylum switched their working assignments to have poison inducing jungle love with the scantily clad Poison Ivy.
Fun Fact: The Joker in this movie is voiced by Troy Baker who also did the voiceover work for the Joker in the Arkham game where they couldn't get Mark Hamill. nah, I think the movie goes to the opposite direction heading to the "stupid road". This movie understood the suicide squad: for operatrions that must NEVER become public, hence using villains, they can do whatever is unethical, secret or downright WRONG that, if things go wrong, they can be disposed of and none will be the wiser. If this mission failed, the headlines could just be "villains fail at Arkham Asylum break" and Waller would just have to get another team.

Wow you were honestly generous with this. I for one want to know how the hell Harley and Joker even got into that helicopter. And that Joker Deadshot fight definitely needed more than 1 sin. This movie is set in the Batman Arkham video game universe and is a prequel, that's why anyone who played those games knew exactly which characters were going to survive (joker, harley, deadshot, riddler, etc). Still a better suicide squad movie than the first one with will smith tho
This is a prequel to the Arkham asylum (the game) so it is continued. It’s actually kinda sad how horrible the security is in this place when the joker takes control of the entire asylum AFTER this happened. Never did explain how he lived tho 🤷♂️

it's really not that different. The different characters get their own personalised intro at the start, one of them gets killed off immediately just to prove the bombs are real (KGBeast/SlipKnot), Harley and Deadshot are the main focus of the team, Waller wants the squadto kill a former member that turned on her (Riddler/Enchantress), Joker has little screen time compared to everyone else. Only real difference is this one had more Batman in it, being an actual Batman film.

Just as an FYI, the layout of this movie roughly mimics the Akham Asylum video games, hence it's crazy layout. I actually thought those touches were kinda neat, but I'm a big fan of the games.

5:55 One sin that was off: Harley Quinn's the only one who gets sent to Arkham. Arkham is an asylum for the criminally insane. Deadshot, Boomerang and the rest are criminals who are fully aware of their doing so they get sent to BlackGate prison.
Edit: Another sin that's wrong. Poison Ivy and Bane need to be by their shit or they'll get sick and wither. Bane needs to have a small dose of his serum because the withdrawal side-effects will royal fuck him up and basically leave him a drooling invalid until his next dose. He's basically a high-strung junkie that needs his pills. Poison Ivy starts to wither after a while if she's not by any plant life. Her cell is usually a giant bowl in the middle of the garden.
Also, how Joker knew sound of frying brain by electricity? He fried Harley Quensel and turn her into Harley Quinn.

I think seeing Batman absolutely kick ass is part of what makes Assault on Arkham so great: Because he isn't the main character of the story (the Suicide Squad is) he doesn't have to be nerfed to extend drama; in fact, as he serves as an antagonist for the "Heroes", Batman being overpowered actually makes the stakes higher. Which is why the scene with Nigma's arrest is a good way to introduce and establish Batman as a considerable threat to the protagonists.
I'm glad they got voice actors for Bane, Ivy, and Two Face. It would've been weird if they just said nothing and awkwardly did their bad guy stuff in silence.

nah, I think the movie goes to the opposite direction heading to the "stupid road". This movie understood the suicide squad: for operatrions that must NEVER become public, hence using villains, they can do whatever is unethical, secret or downright WRONG that, if things go wrong, they can be disposed of and none will be the wiser. If this mission failed, the headlines could just be "villains fail at Arkham Asylum break" and Waller would just have to get another team.

This movie is set in the Batman Arkham video game universe and is a prequel, that's why anyone who played those games knew exactly which characters were going to survive (joker, harley, deadshot, riddler, etc). Still a better suicide squad movie than the first one with will smith tho

This is a prequel to the Arkham asylum (the game) so it is continued. It’s actually kinda sad how horrible the security is in this place when the joker takes control of the entire asylum AFTER this happened. Never did explain how he lived tho 🤷♂️

@@RandomShinigami7 Eh, I wouldn't take that too seriously. That's not uncommon in comic book stuff. There have been a couple different Dr. Lights, a bunch of different Blue Beetles, different robins of course, like five different Flashes, etc. They could honestly just say King Shark is a clone of the original and the old deadshot retired and that wouldn't be at all weird as far as comic books go.
