There are tip lines you can use to report the problem gambler to casinos. This will alert the gaming industry to them and then it allows the industry to trespass them at casinos and deny them entry. If you know of someone in trouble it's the first step to get them help.
I wonder if she even put any of the winnings in a bank. Imagine going to your bank every day and withdrawing $250,000. Is it even doable without the bank becoming suspicious? I would think some sort of an investigation would be launched right away. For these reasons, I doubt she had it in a bank. And this leads me to another question. How and where did she cash the winning check of 14 million? It sounds to me like a movie in the making for Hollywood.
steveo288 yeah. I'm willing to bet she never got out of the casino until it was gone and they paid her in pieces from the cashier cage with vouchers for the machines instead of a check or cash. probably gave her voucher tickets for $100k at a time, 10x $10k tickets and set her loose with a host in the high limit area and comped her and kept her there until it was all gone.
Casinos love to give big jackpots away. They know they will get the money back, it just takes time.. 99.9% of gambling addicts start out with a big win, I was one of them.. Before I won, I never really played much, and would be upset if I lost $70 and not return for months. Then I hit a couple big jackpots and I was hooked and looking for that winning "high".. I ended up losing everything I had, and nearly my life.
I wouldn't say they love giving away big jackpots because if that was the case much fewer people would be losing and going to GA. I'd say for every 100,000 people at a casino there's someone who's really lucky but it's a house game the casino is a business and always will come out on top.
The Moment I won that much I would leave a dollar for the next one to use it (Or whoever wants to take it) and leave, Living on retirement for the rest of my life.
Casinos always have the advantage. Amazingly people think the perks that casinos offer are free. If you have gambled money on numerous occasions and left with less then what you came with you just payed for all the supposed free drinks, food, and slot play.
I know it all to well. I have gambled all my life winning a big jackpot and losing it back. Now 14 million is a phenomenal number. My brain is wired if I ever win a substantial amount like 2 million dollars I would have probably switched up and did something else. And had maybe the common sense to cash in my chips.

Fant Asm you can. what are you talking about? i went from $30 playing penny slots, to a $3,335 handpay. took $2,000 and played $1 slots and won $34,231. it does happen.
James B That $20,000.00 was your money, not the casinos once you won it and if you took a brake and left the gaming floor with that wad of cash in your pocket you might have just continued on out the door once saw the green in your hand.
SPG America should consider that the way in which story is being broadcast (both headline and brainless reporting) and, in turn, the ignorant comments it has produced do nothing to further a positive message about the need to address gambling addiction. Whilst in the UK we are afforded less judgement in our news that is not to say that the problem of addiction (gambling or otherwise) is not still seen as a personal choice by politicians.
PART 2: It all comes down to money. The casinos and gambling establishments are going to keep this game going, because it only keeps their money rolling in, as long as the public and government at large stay ignorant, and think compulsive gambling is just a "choice". ...And for those governments that have legalized gambling, they will stay silent on this issue, so that the money can keep rolling into them. They are not ignorant, and are culpable in such circumstances. ...
So many bad things that we need to keep away from, gambling, drugs, alcohol, food addiction, sex addiction, toxic people and social media habits. Most of these things can be avoided if you take up good healthy habits instead.
AND IF YOU PLAY THE SLOTS ON ONLINE CASINO GAMBLING SITES,YOU ARE TRULY SCREWED!THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO STOP THEM FROM MAKING EVERY SPIN A LOSING PROPOSITION FOR YOU THE PLAYER,being there done that, shame on me!!
Serves her right, to much money makes people greedy i'd rather stay poor than be like these people, i have never gambled in my life and i don't ever plan too..I am poor but i have everything i need and being content and happy and having what you need will always be better than being unhappy and never having enough...
I would like to find out how much taxes she ended up paying. Not only on her HUGE win, but on all the hand pays she eventually "won". Don't forget the government has a huge rake in gaming. How much is enough?
djohnranch none. if she won $14 million and lost $14 million that's a net 0 in taxes owed. she can claim up to the amount owed in tax against her gambling loses. just has to get a statement of her play from the casino and using her players card when she plays and it will keep track. gamblers generally don't pay taxes on the wins because over time they have more loses to claim against the tax owed on the wins.
John Burgess the i.r.s only accepts if you use players card to go against win to loss statement..you can try bank statement only if you pull money out at casino or global funding from casino I always have taxes pulled directly from winnings to easy to get caught up.
The only type of gambling that's worthwhile is putting money on a game/activity to make it more interesting. Playing hold 'em with friends would suck without throwing money in. If there's fights or a football game on that I don't particularly care about the outcome of, I'll make some bets to give me someone to root for. Slot machines on the other hand are wack af.
Everyone in Tampa knows the Seminole has the tightest slots in existence, largely in part due to the fact the closest casino to it is hundreds of miles away.
u can never beat the casino......how can u lose $250,000 at slots in one night is incomprehensible,if these machines were designed to pay out in any way thats remotely fair,u would have won grand and mega jackpots at least 10 times that night.
I just don’t get it. Maybe because I’ve never had much money and know how it truly feels to be broke, but when I win even $500 I’m ready to go home. I immediately stop gambling. I’m ecstatic with my meager wins!
Once addicted, the moment you start playing, you are not sure how far you will go. You may seem like it it under control for a few times, but the inevitable will occur where you will lose all control.... and who knows the end result?
I'm glad I don't gamble. If I were to do so, I might get addicted. I'll stick with video games like Vegas Stakes. Even if I lose in such video games, I don't lose any money.
I once was a stupid gambler. Then I got clever and became a croupier. I still got the same thrill just winning from customers. I broke the cycle of a bad habit.
One of the worst stories I've heard years ago of gambling addiction a man who had two citizenships of middle east country & the USA had a great paying job & lived in the Midwest was married had three young children, MGM had given him 200K credit limit to play in their casino he was addicted in playing cards table games in time this man had near used up all his credit that the casino gave him therefore owing them back the almost 200k he played with, with all he had lost & then owed back he was depressed angry at himself he then flew back to his residence in the Midwest & fatally shot his wife & all his young children then himself leaving a note behind saying He lost everything to his bad gambling addiction that he couldn't go on living anymore, a reporter from a news agency had asked the casino Management if they feel having any responsibility of what this man did fatally taking his family's lives, they responded saying no, he was given credit & was his choice to gamble with it that they take no blame in this horrific action he took out on his family for his gambling addiction.
I would go to the casino when I was stressed, lonely, or angry. It took my mind off everyday life. I then became addicted and had to ban myself from the casino.
Wait until u goggle the guy who lost 65million..playing in Las Vegas... some people do need help In psychological dept. This is pure and solid gambling addiction.
people on here dissing the woman has no clue what gambling addiction is, its like smoking crack or a drinker who cant get enough. its a mean thrill, a broken brain
For one thing, casinos have security EVERYWHERE. They knew all about ths woman and I am sure, courted her heavily with comps, too. The villain is the federal government, specifically the Reagan administration, who passed the Indian Gaming Act in 1988, to help Indians with "economic development." All the casinos do is suck money out of local economies. There is NO net economic development.
Yep worst thing that ever happened to me was beginners luck. I won quite a bit at first, now I can't even cash out online if it's not over 10k.its actually really pathetic and embarrassing
PART 3: What is the answer? Make all casinos illegal in the USA? No. It is to make casinos financially and ethically responsible for the treatment of those who the healthcare system or the courts determine are pathological gamblers, and in those cases make the casinos responsible for remunerating those gamblers and those affected by their gambling for at least 50% of their losses, as the casinos should have identified and intervened in their behavior in the first place.
Anyone else watching these videos after seeing that casino ad with the talking face/head thing on a fingertip and all the flashing lights? I never wanted to play slots--even moreso after seeing that ad.

There are tip lines you can use to report the problem gambler to casinos. This will alert the gaming industry to them and then it allows the industry to trespass them at casinos and deny them entry. If you know of someone in trouble it's the first step to get them help.
"14 million over time" meaning it could have been days, weeks, months.
Putting it in the bank is practically giving them permission to steal it.
steveo288 yeah.
MrBeard17 is
She was doing 0 illegal. What would the bank be suspicious off.. shes legit..
@@MrBeard17u sad..
how the hell can you loose 13 million on slots ? she must have been playing nonstop wtf
The immortal lyric of that Kenny Rogers hit: "You got to know....when to walk away"
Casinos always have the advantage. Amazingly people think the perks that casinos offer are free. If you have gambled money on numerous occasions and left with less then what you came with you just payed for all the supposed free drinks, food, and slot play.
Crazy, i've been to that Casino before, they'd never see me again if i won 13 million
I know it all to well. I have gambled all my life winning a big jackpot and losing it back. Now 14 million is a phenomenal number. My brain is wired if I ever win a substantial amount like 2 million dollars I would have probably switched up and did something else. And had maybe the common sense to cash in my chips.
thats the gambler in you talking :D they had you your whole life, when they bring out the champaigne and say stay in our Ultra luxery mega sweet free of charge to celebrate your win, they got you sucked right back in.
One night I won $20,000 playing blackjack, and blew it all back in one night. I think of it as only losing the $200 I started with. 😂
wow that hurts
u cant win 200 to 20000 dont bullshit pokemon kids and minekampf kids.
Right there with you on that but it's gambling it's a unsavory practice. I haven't been to a casino for month now and I'm praying I never go back
Fant Asm you can. what are you talking about? i went from $30 playing penny slots, to a $3,335 handpay. took $2,000 and played $1 slots and won $34,231. it does happen.
James B That $20,000.00 was your money, not the casinos once you won it and if you took a brake and left the gaming floor with that wad of cash in your pocket you might have just continued on out the door once saw the green in your hand.
how about just banning gambling altogether. problem solved. nothing good comes from it.
Thank you!!!
Ahhhh ... big brother to the rescue! Next: outlaw motorcycles and alcohol sales (since Prohibition was such a great success).
I lost $20 and I was mad for so long! Lol!
I had some relatives that completely destroyed their lives at a casino. House burned down and prison time was the end game.
@Hello Steven Erickson, How are you doing?
PART 2: It all comes down to money. The casinos and gambling establishments are going to keep this game going, because it only keeps their money rolling in, as long as the public and government at large stay ignorant, and think compulsive gambling is just a "choice". ...And for those governments that have legalized gambling, they will stay silent on this issue, so that the money can keep rolling into them. They are not ignorant, and are culpable in such circumstances. ...
I'm sorry...but if you cannot set a limit and cannot control yourself, then you absolutely have no excuses whatsoever.
Kelly Anderson I'm the richest, I have Jesus Christ. please go to honest news Network with with brother Joseph Skinner God bless you
I would like to find out how much taxes she ended up paying.
OMGGGGGGG.... 14 million. Walk away.....
why would a person with 13 million feel the need to make a quick dollar unless she had an addiction?
I wanna see you winning 13 million and not spending at least half of the money again. No one deserves to lose money at all.
Everyone in Tampa knows the Seminole has the tightest slots in existence, largely in part due to the fact the closest casino to it is hundreds of miles away.
u can never beat the casino......how can u lose $250,000 at slots in one night is incomprehensible,if these machines were designed to pay out in any way thats remotely fair,u would have won grand and mega jackpots at least 10 times that night.
i guess when u are addicted to gambling, the more money u have, the higher u gamble. so, no amount of money is enough or too much! very deadly stuff.
I just don’t get it. Maybe because I’ve never had much money and know how it truly feels to be broke, but when I win even $500 I’m ready to go home. I immediately stop gambling. I’m ecstatic with my meager wins!
you could lose 14mil pretty easily if you were playing a 5000 slot the aria in vegas has 5000 slots
i hear about this stuff... and then i get caught on "she's going to prison for decades" ... rapists go to prison for
If she won $14 million typically the casino would claim it’s a malfunction. Have a free steak dinner instead!
Omg 14 million I never won 50,000 thousand 😧😖
Dam... 13 million was the casino win. So basically she spent another 1 million to Chase the 13 million . 😮
Once addicted, the moment you start playing, you are not sure how far you will go. You may seem like it it under control for a few times, but the inevitable will occur where you will lose all control.... and who knows the end result?
amazed that many bad spins existed
Greed is the downfall of humanity.
For the love of money is the root of all evil.
The mind of a gambler is a mind of ambivalence.
But the casino did give her a complimentary buffet so it's all good
How didn't her in-laws not know this?...
Some people are way too trusting.
JonBenait06 You're using a "double negative" so does this mean that her in laws really did know? ...
JonBenait06 Oooh it sure is lol! Sorry about that lol!
it's not a "bad habit." It's a bad gambler.
jdmikeg4 , . 💩😍☺😏😋😍😋😇😊🙂😋🤔😗😚🙄😋😣😚😘☺🤗🙂😋😏😘☺🙄
She could have put that $14,000,000 into peer-2-peer lending and make 7% a year, that's $980,000 a year, $2,684 a day!!!!!
I'm glad I don't gamble. If I were to do so, I might get addicted. I'll stick with video games like Vegas Stakes. Even if I lose in such video games, I don't lose any money.
+Eclipton Wise.
an addiction is an addiction...it will ruin you in the long run
I once was a stupid gambler. Then I got clever and became a croupier. I still got the same thrill just winning from customers. I broke the cycle of a bad habit.
omg! im so thankful i dont have an addiction that would cost me millions
Crazy you don’t stop at $13 mil on a negative expectation game
Casinos suck you in until your life is ruined
Wait until u goggle the guy who lost 65million..playing in Las Vegas... some people do need help In psychological dept. This is pure and solid gambling addiction.
1 billion loss by ex san diego mayor, widow of jack in the box franchise, then she stole 2 million from his charity foundation. Astounding!
people on here dissing the woman has no clue what gambling addiction is, its like smoking crack or a drinker who cant get enough. its a mean thrill, a broken brain
hard to believe she lost that much.i made $30.000+ in two week
Peanuts I made 10x that much
After you lost back 7MM wouldn’t you quit?
I wish that gambling was illegal in the US.
Wait...what are you kidding me. You win 13 million and give it all back to the casino. Smh
Casinos should be shut down. They are very dangerous places.
If they are not shut down the least we can do is educate our youth in schools about the dangers of gambling. In high school drugs and alcohol are always talked about but not a word is said about gambling.
when I go to the casino all I bring is $100, and I have the time of my life.
The casino appreciates your donations.
you blew 14million . ??? wtf .. i would be out
Nicole Smith man what I would ran out of there
