I live in England but since 1990 I have spent a lot of time in Bradenton vacationing with my family. We wish everyone a speedy recovery from the two storms and a quick return to normal life and work.
We love Anna Marie island, we first visited there exactly 23 years ago and have been back quite a few times over the years. 🇬🇧 our thoughts and prayers were with you all during this difficult time.
Hey, You did a fabulous job with the update on "MILTON" which I was curious. Thank you for sharing your efforts to help others and promote the sport of FISHING.
Thank you so very much for sharing views of Anna Maria Island, my family's beloved vacation spot and thank you for sharing the "go fund" link to help out with the "Rod and Reel" fishing pier. We have spent many lovely times there and it is time to support them. If you happen to make any more videos about Anna Maria Island, please post them as I am very interested in what is going on with the island and the lovely people who live there. Thank you.
New subscriber here. I live on Anna Maria Island and I was one of the lucky ones. The storm destroyed my stairs on my elevated home and the power and water are out. But my beloved island took a bad hit. Not only the Rod &Reel Pier, the City Pier was also destroyed AGAIN. First by Irma in 2017 and now this. 😢 I grew up fishing on that pier with my Dad. It holds a lot of fond memories for me. ❤
@@LandedFishing Jeff Bezos can probably donate some of his pocket change to build awesome piers! Unfortunately those guys are more interested to buy more mansions and fake GFs….
The northern eye of that storm flooded my house in south Tampa. I spent all day today gutting my house, as sad as it is I met a lot of new neighbors and helped people I didn’t know. The mountains of everyone’s belongings on the curb is horrible but all we can do it stick together and build it all back 🤙🤙
We've made several walks down that pier for dinner and drinks to the previous restaurant, haven't been back since 2015. AMI is one of our favorite vacation spots.
Hang in there, and we will hit as many go fund me and donations as we can. I first went to AM 52 years ago and have been there over the years, that island is a gem and Holmes beach where my grandma lived. I'm sorry you had to go through this, for what it's worth our hearts are with you.
I have many memories, had many good meals and shared a lot of laughs at Rod and Reel Pier. They have the best grouper cheeks around! I hope to see it rebuilt. It won’t be like the original built in 1947 but it will be great to see this north end icon again. Thanks for the video!
To Floridians who think this didn't affect them: these are OUR beaches, OUR getaways. The ones rhe locals keep nice for us and stay working rhere year round so we can go out and enjoy our coast. They need our help.
Cory pier was just newly repaired it looked like the middle walk was gone. Rod and real got whipped up on . Saw a 40 lb Cobia come cruising in on June years ago in bout 6 ft of water. It still haunts me I didn't have anything ready. Hope y'all are all ok . Prayers for a speedy recovery! Ami looks like a sand box . God bless all y'all be safe.
My grandparents built a house on Spring Ave in the 60s, and we visited many times, and it was beautiful. I hope everyone is okay. I've visited the pier long ago, and we made many memories.
Our mom's family owned Tripp's Court during the 5o's and 60's. Great memories as a little boy visiting summers. Early on would walk to the Rod n Reel pier for a fun day ... minus the mosquito swarms on my walk to the pier lol. I remember one visit during the 50's walking down the street with water up to my waist. Don't remember which Hurricane.
Omg this breaks my heart. We lived at the Perico Bay Club right over the draw bridge. Spent sooo much time on the island. Years of fishing at Rod and Reel. My son grew up there. I’m up north now but my heart is still down there. Thank you for the update.
Thanks for the update, I was hopeful. Its not as bad as what it could of been. I know FEMA is the bank, they provide the funding but dont do the direct work so you need to get the funds from them to pay the contractors
I’m so sorry for everyone there-I know y’all will get back slowly but surely. I live in North Port and we were so lucky this time-I almost feel guilty about that.. Best of luck for all there❤️🩹
Thank you for the video! This is really helpful in assessing damage while we’re are not able to access the island. Do you have additional raw footage you would be able to share? Saw you passed by 907 N Shore Drive on video. Do you happen to have a video of 903 N Shore from your boat? We stayed there this summer and absolutely loved it. Hoping it didn't sustain damage.
Thank you so much for this. Crushing to see the damage to both of those piers. Do you have any information about the Bridge Street pier? I live along the Bradenton river walk and there is damage but nothing like what you showed on AMI.
Main miss the rod and reel pier. Jesus, it got completely taken out...holy s**t. Y'all take care. Lived in Bradenton for 27 years. Moved up to the Panhandle in 2017. Yeah we took a punch when Helene bore through ( highest winds we received was between 115-120mph). Live about 25 minutes from Perry. Took about 3 or so days to get power back on, about 5 for internet.
The world *has* the Lord Jesus. Wherever 3 or more are gathered in his name, there he is. The Gospels, James and Jude tell us exactly how to live. We *are* the body of Christ, and he does his work on Earth through us. What the world needs is people who follow his instructions and live as he asked us to.
I imagine the Almighty’s judgment is coming for the state that is denying women their rights over their own bodies, it’s persecuting the precious lesbian and transgender citizens that He created, is dumbing down the nation by assisting in the dismantling of the educational system and the banning and burning of books. Florida, through its governor, is demonizing the immigrant populations and ramping up bitterness and hate against people of color. I’m sure Jesus would have a whole lot to say about what’s going on in that state.
“….coming back better than ever….” Is rather optimistic. Insurance companies wont pay for 90% of these damages and will probably leave Florida altogether. Federal funding, forget it. State funding super scarce. Economy going down fast. Tourism down. Residents leaving for good. So I’m not sure about coming back better than ever. Understand your hope and optimism and I hope it will be so.
Know, this was just a Category 3 Hurricane and one day there’s going to be a 5. Leave Florida now. For the love of God do not leave your pets behind in these storms if you don’t.
Instead of giving all the money to fema, I think they should give several billion directly to each state affected. Based on need. Fema wastes a lot, and misdirects efforts. States know what is needed. Give FEMA a billion or 2 to get by but divide the lions share amongst the States.
Our house has never been damaged even a little bit over the decades of Michigan blizzards, I'll take that any day. Where we live we don't get tornadoes because of the lake, zero hurricanes, no earthquakes, no wildfires, no massive floods - way less risky here than many areas!
"All the debris left behind from the last hurricane that FEMA, or the govt, didn't get picked up is all still sitting here." While literally showing your own pickup behind you in your driveway. How many pickups are in Florida? How about next time y'all haul your own stuff (and/or your neighbor's) out?
Many restrictions on homeowners in removing debris themselves. Usually after hurricanes private companies come in to remove vegetation first then household. It takes weeks and months with 2 back to back storms the first debris would never be gone. We are not as free as you think. Not all the homes are full time residents many are seasonal out of state owners who escape the winter to enjoy the weather and amenities in Florida
