Great video, Captain Will. Saw your video moving that boat from Orlando to St. Pete and now I'm a subscriber in Sarasota. Your explanation of long spring lines make perfect sense and glad to see that it worked out. That long black boat didn't have a scratch. Hope you can continue to keep us posted. Again, great videos, Thanks.

After water comes ashore and moves around where it normally isn't, so much odd, random stuff ends up in piles and drifts far from where it originated. The SUV stranded at an angle on the small dock was the oddest sight in this whole video.

A lot of people doing cleanup I'll be heading down Sunday to see what my property looks like yesterday was just a bunch of anxiety couldn't even think about driving.. I've been down in Clearwater area St Pete for 1988 and I don't think I've ever remember seeing any kind of devastation like this and yes we've had a couple no name storms and flooding and a couple good hurricanes but this surge has been the worst I've ever seen.. thank God it was not a direct hit

    "Stinging rain"?
During Ian, in Cape Coral, I let my dog out to go pee, on the blocked side of the house.
She chose to go past the brick wall, started turning circles, because of the 'stinging rain'.
Thank God she came back, I wasn't going out there.

Far too many people had the attitude of "it's just wind and rain". By that logic, storms like Andrew, Katrina and Irma were all just wind and rain. That's all a hurricane ever really is. But seriously, it's unfortunate how many people were stubborn and wouldn't take it seriously.

Look at all that trash, these people who build this timber construction are shameless. All that crap that now has to bel dealt with in the aftermath, the chemicals washed into the Gulf and the waisted fuel for the big machinery to clean up. The local municipal building codes in these hurricane flood zones need to change building code. Why not build out of fiberglass formed concrete. GOD knows they have 300 million cubic yards of fiberglass from shredded boats damaged in the storms. Use your skulls for something other than sun glass holders.
The worst part is they never learn from past storms damage and how to build smarter. It’s like trying to feel bad for someone who builds a log cabin in an avalanche zone in the Sierra Nevada or Rocky Mountains. 😂🤪🤣

Yes, I can attest to that. Personally, I'm starting to wonder if hurricanes are attracted to me bcuz I have been in so many, and many seem to fall on my birthday in September. I sheltered in place for Hugo, Katrina, Rita, the 2 that hit New Orleans in 08, Isaac in 2014, Ida, Zeta and Francine. My family and I rode out every single one without injury . Katrina put 5-95 ft. tall pines on my roof. The only reason those pines didn't crash through the roof is bcuz I have a 6 x 9 butted roof plus anchors on the joists. ( A necessity if you want you and your structure to survive) And, I can't say enough about having your structure made of cinder-block.( Especially in Florida) Good luck, clean up is the worst, especially when the electricity is still out. ( Bcuz you can't go in the A/C to cool off)

They come untied. A lot of people don’t have trailers for their boats. I left mine at the marina, but it’s in a barn on the top storage rack. I have friends that left it in the wet slip simply cause they had no choice. I have another friend on the water that pulled his boat and parked it in front of my house. Another friend has his boat on the trailer in his driveway with the drain plug out not realizing how hight the water would get and flooded his boat. Lots of reasons, but I’m sure some have boats they just want out..

Most elderly. Some didn’t know about the free Uber service and some thought it was going to be a storm like normal so they didn’t leave. That easy. People get on the internet and downplay a storm then when this happens they ask why they didn’t evacuate. Shrug doesn’t matter at this point and time they need help and we the people of Stpete helped.

The birds making noise is odd.
After Ian it was quiet, except for generators and USCG/news helicopters.

I was living in Bradenton when Ian hit, that gave me a good taste of what it was like.
I decided to leave after Irma hit because it was scheduled to hit Sarasota head on.
But then pulled a Charlie and decided to go see what was up in Arcadia of all places.
My buddy Rick who lived there had his place up on a berm four feet above native grade.
He told me he had four feet of water in his living room!
It didn't help because he's only a mile from Horse Creek.

If you are going to spin your camera around as fast as you do, you would be better served by running your camera at 60fps instead of 30fps. You would not get the stutter you are getting when you pan around too quickly.
