Good news and bad news. The bad news is, I probably waited too long and my condition ended up beyond help. The good news is, my problem is the cheapest to treat of the three options they present.

Was this bike tuned for shorter gearing ? As i noticed you were almost red lining in 1st and barely hitting 80 and not even hitting 100 in 2nd before near redline/upshifting. Just wondering as i own a MT10 (FZ) and its redline in 1st lets me smack 80 easy and go past 100 in 2nd. Asking because given the Duke hp/torque numbers i thought it'd easily surpass that.
I have a 2019 of the same bike. It was my first twin coming from IL4 1000cc + sportbikes. It took me a bit to learn to ride it like a twin and not an IL4. It's power band is done low, don't need to wind it up in the higher revs. Super fun to braap it around between 3500 to 7500 rpms. Love my SD1290r.
In other words it’s a high hp bike
@@Anonymous-jj9yu no, it's a high torque bike. HP is same on the IL4 bikes as the KTM. Torque is the difference. KTM makes a ton of torque very low in the rev range. Much different than the IL4 bikes.

I always ride in sport throttle response. Whether in or out of track mode. Wonderful, instant throttle.

I'm normally a pretty cautious, laid back, rider. But a friend loaned me one of these for 2 weeks while he was out of town. I rode it like this basically everywhere. This video was giving me flashbacks.
I have the 2021 SD1290GT with sprint filter,Austin Racing full system and ECU flash mine pulled 197 to the wheel.They don’t call these bikes “The BEAST” for nothing.👍

Had a Street Triple RS before my Gen3 Superduke R, which I loved... And hesitated leaving the sound of a triple but man, that this is such a beast... so much more fun riding around town.. Always smiling with every throttle twist.
Dude im in the same situation haha, im super hesistant to lose the triple sound + quickshifter its godly, and im not sure ill like the sound of ktms v2 but im pulling the trigger anyways.
Sold my 2017 super duke r this year. Was super sad to see it go. That bike gave me some great rides in Colorado but I freaking doubled money on it. Still got the Ducati scrambler desert sled and love it though.

I had the opertunity to race a guy on a 1290 superduke! I was riding my Z900 which has the full Titanium SC Project Exhaust, sprint filter and Two Wheel Dynoworks ECU Flash. I seen him coming up behind me, so I cracked the throttle wide open thinking ii was going to win the race, that was until he passed me and realized what was up against.I have never been so happy to be passed by another bike, it is truly an amazing bike! I think it might be time to sell the Z!
I'm most impressed by how much power it has above 110mph, most naked bikes just don't really have gearing for that
There’s a Colombian channel called full gas that shows that very well. They drag race one against a Z900. It ran neck and neck from the pole on most races and even got beat a little off the line on one pull. But during every race when they got up to around 90mph the 1290R just teleports away and takes it to Gapple Bees.
Hopefully they have a Tuono somewhere in there for you to ride, you need to understand just how good Aprilia can be!

The Super Duker is based on the same great formula as the V-twin Ducatis and my EBR. Lots of torque and great handling!

Still 7 years later since this second generation of the Super Duke came out and it is still my absolute fav, looks damn brutal and special. I especially prefer this older one to the new -24 1390 Superduke with that new ugly headlight 🤢

Wish I was still in Austin so you could ride my 2020 KTM SuperDuke 1290R. I’ve had the older gens and the new design is so much better. I also purchased a brand new aprilia Rsv4 factory redesigned. If I ever come back up to Texas, you’ll need to test them both out!

Hello all, I just passed my MSF course and am finally ready to get my first bike! I have ridden dirt bikes twice when I was 14 so I’m pretty much comfortable on 2 wheels. Would this be a good start bike for me? Want something I’m not going to be bored with in 2 months as I pretty much mastered every maneuver during the MSF perfectly up to second gear where it was a little hairy in the fire station parking lot.
Start with the Duke 390 then 890 then 1290......

This might be the best sounding exhaust that I've ever heard on a Superduke!!! Oh I never thought I'd say that about SC Project. Not that there's anything wrong with them, just never thought I'd say one of them sounds the best. But it does.
Tried this but prefer the power band of my K1300R. Pulls from 2K to 10K, and has 175 Horses. It is also very stable on longer tours.
I have the same bike a 2017 with full akra, best bike i ever had, before that i had the 2015 version, just don't like the look at all of the latest 2020 version so won't be changing for that one and anyway this bike has it all much more than you can use even.
So are you planning to buy this bike, because you have owned bikes like R1 and s1000rr now I think is time for a change in channel to keep the interest if your viewers, I know you have owned a naked bike MT-09 but it isn't a hyper naked like this, the reason I am saying this is because the build and vlogs you do on your bike is so interesting to watch, just to know what mods are thier in market there are in the market and hiw to put them on and how do they perform or look, that's the reason I want you to buy a bike like SuperDuke1290r in future and it will also help to bring some new content in this channel.

I rode my buddies first gen 1290 with intake and exhaust. Rowdiest bike I ever rode. He took it to VIR North and he said the rear end would get loose as the slight bend at the start/finish at around 150mph

Trying the 2022 SD1290 full tech kit at a dealer was the worst mistake of my life. Now all other bikes are lame. I have to sell a kidney to afford one, but that will be my long time goal.
