Thanks for the tip on using a Shaper Sheet for a tunnel liner.

Hi Peter getting use to n scale, after building ho layouts with my dad , ive decided to go n scale, lol every in my head is trained towards ho ,size of tunnels is my main concern ,being able to clean the tracks has to be part of my layout design ,always enjoy your videos mate , looking forward to the next chapter 😎😎😎😎😎

N-scale does have some advantages. Personally, I still prefer HO.

Dear Peter, very interesting how you showed the different stages of this particular scenery build-up. Especially where the scene ‘borders’ adjacent sections, or future view blocks, it’s an intricate process of creating those separations in both a logical and attractive way.
For the double stack clearances, a question arises as to what kind of era the client is going to represent? And in conjunction with this question, are the particular stone retaining walls a preferential item? This floats to the ‘surface,’ whereas the concrete version would seem appropriate for the double stack representation. Anyhow, it’s just a wondering matter. The wondering more or less started with the idea if it would be economical to create your own versions of retaining walls, as you’re frequently in need of such scenic features. Again, just a thought. Curious for the next steps. Cheerio

I don't know if the owner has anything as modern as double-stacks, but he does like to run a much looser selection of trains than many. Thus, it's a good idea to ensure that there are no unnecessary restrictions.
As for the retaining walls, the choice of stone vs concrete would be based on the circumstances when the railroad was built, not for the period being represented. Many old stone retaining walls and tunnel portals are still in use today. It's also not economical to build all my own retaining wall masters, create molds, and then cast my own. Even if I needed say 100 castings for a long wall, the time I would have to invest would exceed the cost of purchasing them.

Ur chann has just popped up. My goodness people actually pay for a professional as urself to build a huge layout like this? ..amazing. Looks very complex.

There are people on the hobby of model railroading who have limited time available and would prefer to spend it on those aspects of the hobby that they enjoy most. For these people, it makes sense to hire a professional (if they can afford it).

Can I offer some hopefully constructive feedback? After every clip saying don’t go away I’ll be right back very irritating very quickly over all the videos are fantastic it’s just that one little catchphrase was driving round the bend

Thank-you for the feedback. You are the first person to tell me that, whereas many people have said just the opposite. We all have different likes and dislikes. Personally, those videos with background music competing against the presenter's commentary really drive me nuts, but other people don't seen to mind.
Don't hold your breath expecting me to stop doing it any time soon, especially as I already have many more videos completed and uploaded, awaiting their release schedule.

When you mentioned that it took longer to do something than you had planned, it hit close to home for me. I'm building a cabin, to live in, and it seems that every job I think should take ten minutes actually takes an hour or two!

@@richardbedard1245 That still happens occasionally, although I'm happy to report that I can usually complete a task within the estimated timescale. This railroad build ended up under budget overall.
