Imagine learning new languages in vr, where you see words, hear how is it pronounced, you can learn grammar, and you can pronounce (which is the most improtant part).

I think WALKING THROUGH HISTORY would be the coolest thing ever. Almost like traveling through time in VR. Medieval battles, Wild West horse trail riding, ww2 battles, ww1… if you know a creator please mention this. I also want the first copy when it’s done , lol thanks

Here are some free options. If you don't have a headset, you can join in a browser, so it's 100% free!
      1) Mozilla Hubs: It's free. No download required. No account required. Bring in pictures or pre-made 3D assets and 'pin' them to the room. You can also create rooms/worlds from scratch in a browser using a simple editing program called Mozilla Spoke. There is a camera but it only saves very short videos, so if you want to record a short lesson, use a second account and screen capture.
      2) Spatial: It's free. People can join in a browser. More realistic as i can use your actual photo mapped to a 3D avatar. Also opening it on your PC in the browser, then you can drag and drop in videos, PDF documents, images etc.
      3) AltSpaceVR: Again free. University lecturers and teachers are already using this. For presentations they recommend you use "slides.com". There is a free option on Slides.com. You can add an object to your world which shares your browser so you can go through things from your browser. To record, you will need 2 accounts (one for the teacher at the from, and one dummy account to stand there as a camera person). The camera person is in a browser, and you can record their perspective using screen capture. There are regular networking events in there with other teachers. Search for "Educators in VR".
There is also "Engage" which is free and could be perfect but I haven't tried hosting anything yet.

The problem is most people think Virtual Reality is a con, and no one will invest their money into getting one.
There is so many opportunities with VR but people really need to understand the real enjoyment of vr

    • @Volt1478
      @Volt1478 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I know right? It solves so many problems and makes the entire world 3x better but of course there are always people who think that if they play VR they will be taken over by robots 🤦‍♂️. Also imagine how cool it would be to go to school in VR, like if you could learn about Rome and actualy be at Rome, or space, and labs wouldn’t cost money and stuff. It could be so easy to teach to. But there are kids/people who can’t afford them. And most kids spend all of their school time at school on their chromebooks/computers so it’s not like it would be a unhealthy amount of technology (I know it is tho) because we already spend 7 hours on a Chromebook

ngl. When I went through the Anne Frank house and was close to the end of the experience I cried. The whole experience was well made and really interesting. Who knew VR could tug at your heart like that.

asdasdasdasd asd first, I did the Anne Frank experience well before covid was a thing. Second, crying isn’t a bad thing. It’s an emotional response that is typical when something hits you. Maybe you don’t have a soul. 🤷🏻‍♂️

One of my favorite things is using 3D TH-cam to visit a vineyard or distillery, if you have a glass of the product. Something very relaxing about being shown around the place and getting some drone footage of a remote bit of Scotland, all whilst sipping on a glass of it.
I just wish TH-cam was better at showing you just the immersive 3D videos. I will never ever want to watch a regular 2D video on a Quest so stop suggesting them, I feel like it takes 10x longer to find what I want vs regular youtube

I know this is an older VR video but after just purchasing the Quest 2 as a family gift for Christmas, I've been looking more and more into the educational and experience side of things... to especially help with the Covid fatigue we're all dealing with. I'm looking forward to checking out some VR videos and guided tours of places that I'll probably never get to visit in my lifetime. So on that note... Does anyone have a TH-cam playlist or know of any guided tours that are narrated?

Hey, here are some free options. If not all students have a headset, they can join in a browser, so there's no barriers.
      1) Mozilla Hubs: No download or account required. All people need to join is a browser link or a 6 digit code. Students can bring in their webcam picture so you can see them. Bring in pictures or pre-made 3D assets and 'pin' them to the room. You can also create rooms/worlds from scratch in a browser using a simple editing program called Mozilla Spoke so you can create a classroom or shared space. There is a camera but it only saves very short videos, so if you want to record a short lesson, I would suggest to use a second account in your PC browser and use screen capture software.
      2) Spatial: Again people can join in a browser. More realistic as i can use your actual photo mapped to a 3D avatar. Also opening it on your PC in the browser, then you can drag and drop in videos, PDF documents, images etc.
      3) AltSpaceVR: Again free. People can join on a PC if they don't have VR. University lecturers and teachers are already using this quite a lot. For presentations they recommend you use "slides.com". There is a free option on Slides.com. Yes, I have three recommendations having used these with colleagues and I know they are already being used in teaching. Anyone without a headset yet can join in the browser.

Nanome (molecular engineering), Sama General Chemistry, Organon anatomy, Robotics in VR, the Engage platform, Science simulations (physics), Faraday's magnets etc. There were nice apps on the Go too, IDK whitch of them are cross-platform/crossbuy. The school told me that I can get any game I want to use for the kids. All the devices are apple in the school. Sorry for all the questions but where do I go to download games, do I need the app in the iPads and Mac computers for the kids to use oculus? How do I connect them to a big screen so I can see what they are doing? Can 10 kids join the same lesson or they all need to do it individually? What are some good learning games or educational games to buy or rent for the kids to use? Trying to create lesson plans for the kids do in the Sumer. the summer program is only 4 weeks. When you look at VR being demonstrated on utube the picture Quality always look so good but when you actually put the VR head set on the picture quality looks nothing like what you see being demonstrated on utube , I was very disappointed after looking through a friend of mines quest , they really need to fix that problem within the headset maybe then more people will buy one , there are probably 3rd party apps out there that can address this issue by downloading different software but since everyone is not that tech suave there not going to bother with that , they should make it so you can adjust the resolution for a better picture experience right in the headset without having to download anything imho.
