What to do in Wilmington, Delaware - FALL LEAVES SCENIC TRAIN RIDE (RV East Coast Road Trip)

We are on to our seventh state of our East Coast road trip... Delaware. In looking for what to do in this state, we found a train ride called the Autumn Leaf Special... um, sign me up! This is exactly what we have been looking for on this leaf peeping adventure! We booked the tickets online and headed to Wilimington. Up to this point, we had been hugging the east coast, so Wilmington was our first trip inland... and funny thing, it is our second Wilmington as we were also in Wilmington, NC. We had no idea there were so many cities with the same name...
As we drive through Delaware, we start to see the leaves turning colors. This is what we have been waiting for!!! The train ride was beautiful! Going through the countryside and seeing the multi-colored leaves along with streams, rivers and quaint little covered bridges. It was as good as advertised!!
Next up, we wanted to just explore Wilmington... and Jason wanted oysters so we found the perfect spot downtown where we could also watch our Saints play football. What a great way to spend a Sunday!
After the game, we went for a nice long walk around downtown. It is a beautiful city, especially in fall! Just when we were about to leave, we spot a trail leading down to the river. So we had to stop and explore. We walk down into Brandywine Park and see deer and other wildlife along the way. Locals were jogging or walking their dogs, and it was just so peaceful.
We end the day staying at our first Harvest Host which was Midnight Oil Brewing Company. They had lots of their own beer on tap and even their own cider which I was really excited about! It was a perfect fall day!
