As a kid growing up in central NJ, my family vacationed here every summer from the late 1970s through early 1990s. Haven't been there in almost 25 years but taking a trip down in September. Looks like the place hasn't changed too much!
Cape May is the best beach town in Jersey and a must do! I’m from Jersey I go down there almost every year. Cape May does give Jersey a different feel!
5th generation born and raised in Cape May my grandfather was the Mayor of Cape May and my Dad was the Mayor for 16 years in Cape May he was a master carpenter and did the gingerbread work on the Famous Pink House near Congress Hall glad you enjoyed your time in our amazing little town
Hi! Came across your video. So glad I did! You both are so nice to watch. I love how you explored the wonderful town of Cape May. My husband and I have been going every year for the past four years and we are going again this summer. We are staying at a B&B this time. Really enjoyed Congress Hall and will definitely be stopping by to see it. Thank you for a very enjoyable video. You showed me some places in Cape May that my husband and I didn’t get to visit and now we will take the time to visit this summer. Also, I find it very neat that you have a map of the states you visited on your RV. What a great idea! Thanks again!
Jersey is my 2nd home and as many times as I've been to Atlantic city, I've never been to Cape May. It's now on my list thou. And yes, Jersey tomatoes are the best tomatoes
Cape May is definitely a hallmark card love it. My favorite along east coast , its taking you back in time. great shops Thanks guys for fall in cape may.
My dad lived in Cape May when he was young. He probably went to that soda fountain. Brought tears to my eyes thinking about that. My 1st time to really see it. Never went there (that I remember) when we would go to Jersey on trips in the summer.
We ❤ Cape May! We sometimes do long weekends there since we are only 4 hours away. We have been talking about it for years, but it's supposed to be really cool at Christmas time with the Victorian homes all decorates and doing carriage rides. Awesome vlog and glad you enjoyed the area!
Of all the times in my life that I've gone up and down the East Coast, I've never gone down to Cape May. This sealed the deal for me, totally on my 2022 bucket list now. I thought those trees were sycamores too btw. So glad you got time to have fun and relax, it really shows in your faces. :)
It's good if you like a place that's rich in historic sightseeing, quiet and relaxing, with lots of shops and some decent restaurants. It does get quite busy in summer as to be expected and the hotels get very expensive. There isn't really a lot to do for kids.
My husband and I just left there. The weather was beautiful and sunny Monday-Wednesday. It’s quiet at night, everything closes early off season. Most of the restaurants stay open. Still had fun. The Cape May Zoo was really nice. We went in June as well. I’m thinking of going back next month to see the Christmas decorations.
I just came across this video on my explore page. I love seeing people explore Cape May for the first time. I spent my whole childhood going to Cape May. My Mom grew up there with her 5 other siblings and my Grandparents lived there so we would visit them all the time. This past summer I turned 21 so I decided to spend my first Summer down there. I still have an Aunt and Uncle who live there and some cousins so I crashed with my older cousin and her kids. It was hands down one of the best experiences and I am so lucky and grateful to still have family there. I worked on the Washington Street Mall in a little family-owned store called The Whale's Tale.
As a kid growing up in central NJ, my family vacationed here every summer from the late 1970s through early 1990s, we usually stayed at the Grand Hotel (formerly known as the Golden Eagle in the 70s/80s). Haven't been there in almost 25 years but taking a trip down in September. Looks like the place hasn't changed too much! The Whale's Tale was there back then. Sad to see the Lemon Tree is gone, they had good lemon ice.
Sycamore trees. We had them on my street growing up in Pennsylvania and my mom called the, yuck yuck trees. We used to pick off the bark when we were bored and they get these itchy balls that are around and are really itchy when you break them up on somebody, and then they get rockhard and we had fights with them!
I hope that your trip helped you realize the difference between North Jersey & South Jersey, or what we call going “down the shore”… Cape May is an amazing experience that still is charming enough to not feel touristy. I rank it right up there with Newport RI, Cape Cod MA, Savannah GA, Key West, and the Outer Banks as the best seaside resorts for adults to relax and unwind!
Awesome video guys thanks for the great videography! I absolutely adore Cape May. While living in Baltimore had a 4 day weekend during the week of course. My stepson was 12 at the time so we of course had to go to Wildwood for the amusement park on the beach which was really cool too. Then over to Cape May I fell in love with that place! So Thanks for the Memories! And as always safe and happy travels👍💗💗💗
OMG! We are a bit less than 2 hours north of Cape May in northern Ocean County. Yes indeed, Cape May is one of the gems of the Jersey Shore. We love it for a close by quick getaway. A great spot on the west side of the peninsula is Sunset Beach. There you can collect "Cape May Diamonds" ( small naturally polished quartz stones that have traveled down the Delaware river ) . As others have said, quite sure those trees are Sycamores. Have dealt with them many times as a telephone lineman. 😲 Be well you guys, nice episode! 👍👍👍🌞
I get t-shirts because for one I wear them. But before they get to worn out I take the front of them and toss the rest. Plan is to someday make me a quilt out of all the places I have been and one with all the ships I have been on. So after your shirts start getting older might want to keep them to make into a quilt to remember the road trip with on a cold winter night.
What you all are doing is so cool! Thanks for sharing! Can you tell me where you got tthe map you put the stickers of each state from? I would love one of those.
You have really picked some great places. Sometime in the future you need to come up to Canada . You would love Montreal and Quebec City, Niagara on the lake, Algonquin Park, Banff and Lake Louise and Vancouver. We are fortunate here in southern Ontario to have so many great farmers markets.
I lived in NJ for years. I'm a native Floridian, but the Jersey beaches (the shore) are the best on the East Coast. Don't tell anyone! Oh, Jason, those are either Sycamores, but most likely London Plane trees. My degree in Horticulture is actually from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ (Cook College).
I'm from the north end of the coast but Cape May is among the best beaches in the state IMO. Long Beach Island has some nice beaches as well. In my area they all get very crowded but Deal and Monmouth Beach are the least worst.
Fall is my absolute favorite time of year! When you plan to come to Indiana, come in the fall and head to Brown County. It is considered the "Little Smokies" and absolutely gorgeous in the fall! Plus the small Town, Nashville, Indiana, has a lot of cute little shops I think you guys would like and you can camp in the State Park! Thank you as always for sharing your adventures 😊 *Hope Alisa's neck is feeling better🙏
Hi Alisa & Jason, Hope you both are doing well. I was hoping you guys went exploring at Atlantic City. Cape May is fine. I’ve been there, truly picturesque. Can’t wait for your next vlog. Happy Wednesday! ✨❤️
This place is lovely❗️I believe Royal cruises from Cape May(or maybe it’s NCL)🤔 or I could be all the way wrong 😂🤷🏽♀️ I love the old places & things w/real history. My daughter lives in Jersey but it doesn’t look as lovely as this. I don’t think ppl realize how big of an agricultural state Jersey is. It’s also home of the diner…. Lots of diners everywhere. Thanks for sharing❗️
I don't know what the sale price is for the Sugar Plum Cottage but the rental price goes for between $3,000 and $9000 a week. I'm guessing it depends on the season you're trying to rent it in. Edit- found it on zillow. Sale price is $1.5 million. What a deal! Lol

The best time of year to visit Cape May is in December. House and Trolly tours, the bed and breakfast are wonderful.
Those trees are sycamores. They're all over NJ. we have one standing right in front of our house.
I love New Jersey’s waves!!! They are awesome for surfing!!! I love free styling as well!!!
My dad lived in Cape May when he was young. He probably went to that soda fountain. Brought tears to my eyes thinking about that. My 1st time to really see it. Never went there (that I remember) when we would go to Jersey on trips in the summer.
I love how you're describing my NJ.. thanks, it is beautiful 😍
Thanks for a great tour. Beautiful place. Take care.
Congress Hall is pretty cool in the summer...they have live bands that play and the bar is open to outside
We ❤ Cape May! We sometimes do long weekends there since we are only 4 hours away.

Yes!! I heard from some locals that it is great at Christmas. It would be awesome to go then.
It looks like the town where The Good Witch is filmed!
Love watching The Good Witch

It was such a cute town! I wish we had been able to stay longer.

Didn't know about this fun side of New Jersey, either! Nice to find it! Thanks!
Born and raised in NJ. Cape May is the best. I now live in Minnesota. Enjoy your adventure.
That's exciting....you're growing your hair back out!!!

The tree you like at 7.42 is a Sycamore . The house May sell for about 1 million
More than that $$$ with this insane market!

What a cool place that five n dime store looks like the old Woolworths store especially with the red fountain food counter.
In the last video I didn't see you put the sticker on the side of Ellie
Those trees look like sycamores
Those are sycamore trees. Aren’t they cool! When we were kids we called them camo trees cause they look like army pants
Birch maybe.
Sycamore tree maybe
Sycamore trees
Sugar Plum House $1,559,000.00 asking
Did you know that the state of NJ resembles George Washington??
I don't know what the sale price is for the Sugar Plum Cottage but the rental price goes for between $3,000 and $9000 a week. I'm guessing it depends on the season you're trying to rent it in.
Edit- found it on zillow. Sale price is $1.5 million. What a deal! Lol
Daaaang!!
Being from NJ and living "down tha shore," 1.5 mil was my guess.
New Jersey is not New England. Just wait until you go further north!
