Definitely your best video so far! Fantastic shots and so comprehensive! New England looks so gorgeous in the fall! I neeeeed to go explore there more. 🍁
As a local I would HIGHLY recommend that people try to not come during the Columbus/Indigenous People's weekend. The traffic is very crowded and the northern areas like Crawford Notch and Smugglers Notch are often past peak, especially this year as the holiday is late (12th to 14th). Come the weekend before if you can. It will be much more enjoyable. Otherwise, if you have to, plan on coming EARLY Friday morning and not leaving until LATE Monday. North 93 will be a logjam at the Hooksett tolls by noon Friday all the way north.
Absolutely loved this video! Your recommendations for the New England road trip were spot on, and the stunning pictures truly brought the beauty of the region to life. Your narration was engaging and made me feel like I was right there on the journey with you. Thanks for such a perfect guide-I can't wait to plan my own trip now! 🍁😍🫶🍎
Wow, this is an excellent video! I’ve always wanted to visit New England but it can be overwhelming deciding where/what to see and it sounds like such a lovely overview! Thanks!
I felt the SAME WAY when I had always dreamed of going!! Sooo confusing! You can’t go wrong with this itinerary! If you need to skip something or shorten for a smaller amount of time, I would skip Maine!
There's so much! I grew up and still live in Massachusetts. What are you interested in and when would you like to visit? Autumn is beautiful, Christmas is magical but can fluctuate from warmish to frigid (I've seen 50° one day and 2 days later it's 10°!). Summer is wonderful and everyone spends time outside in nature. Winter, January through March is awful and don't recommend for tourism. We get Nor'easters, a weather pattern found only in new england and sometimes reaches canada. Its an actual hurricane of snow and ice, it always brings in frozen temps that freezes everything. April is our big Patriots day celebration. There's tons of historical events and parties all through spring, summer and fall.
Wonderful video! Beautiful pictures, easy to understand narrative with an upbeat tone, pleasant background music and interesting as well as unique places to visit. Thanks!
Last November we did a road trip through part of New England, we flew in to NYC, drove to NJ to visit friends for a couple of days, drove to Niagara for a couple of days, then to Lake Placid, from there we drove to Burlington then to Stowe, from Stowe we went to Bar Harbour, went to Arcadia N.P. then on to Portland, then to Boston and back to NJ from where we flew out.
Omg this video is giving me all the fall feels! 🍂🍁… I am beyond excited to explore some of these locations in my upcoming trip. I too will be traveling to Boston and making my drive to Vermont 😍. I will definitely be visiting the location you recommended, they all look encredible! Thank you for this helpful guide.

Great video, you've really captured the beauty of foliage in NH and VT. However, Massachusetts also has amazing foliage, especially in the central and western parts of the state.
I live in new england and while CT is technically part of new england most people here don't really consider it to be because most of CT associates more with NYC than new england...now move along
Just found your channel. Love it. I want to road trip the US. At 11:32 Maple chocolate chip brownie 😍 for only $2.50 ??? OMG, where I live in NYC it would be like $5 or $6, so insane. That one probably has good quality ingredients from farm animals, and probably not Sysco lol... anyway, AWESOME VIDEO, planning a trip to Maine with my wife and would like to do this whole tour actually. Thank you so much, look forward to your other videos !!!
I live in CT and my parents used to take me to the Berkshires in MA and all of the spots in your video for fall foliage scenic drives in early to mid October. Excellent video, very nostalgic! It’s nice to see you mention CT, I’m glad you enjoyed it 🍁 Hogan’s Cider mill is right down the street from me!
Thank you so much for such a great video for a perfect New England fall colors road trip. Very informative with high quality videos (especially those drone clips). Look forward to seeing more in-depth videos like the Stowe video. May I ask when was your trip. The colors were so perfect during your trip. I can't wait to plan my trip in 2024.
Both times I’ve been to New Hampshire and the Kanc have been on the October federal holiday weekend. It was peak foliage the first year and just past the second year. So like October 10. I usually go around October 1-14. But check the foliage report. October 1 will still be fairly green but sometimes I’ve gone just bc that is when I had the time! Conneticut is GREAT later in October too and lasts longer if you can’t go around October 8-14 time.
Technically you could visit a couple states in one day yes. You can do this itinerary from 4-7 days ideally!! I would skip Portland if you have a shorter amount of time!
Hi! what a perfect guide. I don't need to watch anything else on Kancamagus Hwy or Stowe. Thank you! Great work on script and video. I felt tired just thinking how much of a script you had to pet down, and then doing VO. I get lazy with VOs for my videos. What dates were you there as we're planning to visit there in a couple of weeks (early October). Great work!!
Probably going to be a bit late for most of the places on this list BUT will be amazing for Connecticut! And Connecticut is one of my fave places for foliage ever and super underrated. I recommend checking online foliage maps bc each year is diff, but usually will be gone by that time. Maybe southern Vermont will be okay!
Question to those who live in or have travelled in this area. If you had about 9/10 days to see NYC and the New England area (road tripping with a hire car) how would you split up your time? We will have a 2 and 4 year old with 2 adults. We have done NYC before so I think 2/3 days there will be ok. We are coming from Australia 😅
It will be late in the season I’m not going to lie. I still highly recommend Connecticut as I showed in my video here that should still be great! I’ve often spent 2 weeks there around end of October. I recommend looking at the foliage calculator as well. Last year I went to Alexandria Virginia and DC too right after around this time and it had a great vibe!
You could do the trip in 10 days if you keep a tight schedule of skip some spots such as Portland! Or even less if you only have a few days. Drive to NH and do 3 days and then 2-3 in Stowe.
I absolutely LOVED your video! What exact dates were you there? I didn't catch that in your video. We plan on going the 3rd weekend of September 2024. I hope and pray that it'll look like that!

Usually the second week is good! But it depends every year I would look at the foliage trackers and see!! if you are later (2nd week) I would highly recommend going down to Connecticut for your trip because that is usually when they have the best foliage (if you are seeing it’s too late elsewhere)

Thanks for the wonderful and informative video..I am planning it this fall between Oct 3-9 and plan to follow the route starting from Acadia to end at Stowe..Am I having a good chance to see peak/pre-peak in the region?
It all depends on the year. For the coastal area/Arcadia it mayyyy be a bit early. Stowe usually is doing pretty good around the 9th! On your way to Stowe maybe try and hit up the great north woods in New Hampshire and go to Dixiville Notch hike. It should def be peaking or maybe even past for those dates!!
I want to do this october 2025. How far in advance do you have to book places to stay? This looks great. Although i think we will have to make a stop in Salem, MA because my cousin loves Halloween. How many days was this trip?
I would start booking in like July for an October trip. Please be aware Salem is TERRIBLE at this time of year like so insane and crowded worse than Disney World!! You can do this trip in seven days but if you have shorter, I would skip Portland and just to the northern parts!!
Thank you! No there will be no fall foliage in May :( it is only for a few weeks in October usually! But you should still road trip New England it is a beautiful place
@@FollowMeAway Might want to watch it. She said despite it not being the west coast she recommended you watch the sunset. Some dumb people think sunsets only happen on west coast oceans. In reality everyone on Earth sees a sunset.

If you just do Vermont and New Hampshire you can do a nice long weekend trip for 4 days. If you want those two and CT I would do it in 6-7 days and a bit longer to add Maine. If you have a smaller number of time I would do VT, NH and CT!
I visit mainly the first 2 weeks of October. The third week it’s usually still good down in CT believe it or not!! Bc it’s further south and still nice!
Only NHers think standing in a crowd, sitting in a traffic jam, and searching for parking qualifies for getting back to nature!!! You go you concrete warriors. I’m sure it coast tons of money as well.
Tons of money to drive, park, walk, repeat? Just gas I suppose, but it's not like you are paying admission fees everywhere. Seems like a cheap trip to me.
Personally, I stay in Airbnb because I like to have a full kitchen and a big space. But I know lots of people who have done a trip similar to this and have gone hotels. You could go either way.
Wonderful video! What an enjoyable experience. For advice on drives, my two recommended experts are Jeff Folger and Jim Salve. The have websites and social media that are updated continuously.

Can fall foliage seen in the mid to late October?
Mid-later October you wanna go to Connecticut (otherwise it’s too late) or you can also do upstate NY like the Catskills too!
😱 Donuts machines
Wow! What time of year did you visit? I want to plan a trip like this
I visit mainly the first 2 weeks of October. The third week it’s usually still good down in CT believe it or not!! Bc it’s further south and still nice!
@@FollowMeAway thank you! Can’t wait!
Enjoy!
How many days did this take to do?
You can do this in 5-7 days depending on how long you spend. If you have less time I would cut out Portland and go straight to the rest
How many days did this take?
You can do it easily in 5-7 days. You can even do it in 4 days if you skip Portland!
Awesome video ❤
Thank you!
What dates were these?
First two weeks of October!
Life time New Englander here, NO ONE here consider CT part of NE :)
🧡
Do you stay at hotels or airbnbs? Or do you have any other suggestions? Thanks! Loved this video so much!! 🍂🍁
Personally, I stay in Airbnb because I like to have a full kitchen and a big space. But I know lots of people who have done a trip similar to this and have gone hotels. You could go either way.
Pennsylvania hates this video.
Didn’t realize you guys were in New England….
😂
PA can’t compare lol
🤣🤣
It is not 56 miles
Wonderful video! What an enjoyable experience.
For advice on drives, my two recommended experts are Jeff Folger and Jim Salve. The have websites and social media that are updated continuously.
Thanks for sharing!!! Glad you enjoyed!
That’s not how your pronounce Kancamagus. I don’t know who told you it was pronounced like August , as a local in the white mtns it’s not pronounced how they told you. It is Kang- ga- mainkus. Great video though. Made me proud to live here.
Yep, this. I grew up in the White Mountains. It most definitely does NOT sound like August.
I grew up staying in the white mountains every summer. It's definitely not pronounced like August 😐
Literally no one in NH pronounces it like August. She must have asked a flatlander that just moved up here.
