That's really useful to know. Thanks! Had no idea that you could set it for rechargeable batteries on startup. I've been using rechargeables since day 1 - guess I'm lucky not to have encountered any issues! Will deffo set it properly from now on.
@@spvidz another thing friend, i wanna buy a shirt from your merch website for my birthday and I was wondering if said product could come in a darker shade like black or gray. Let me know and thank you!😁✌🏽
Interesting, I'll have a look. I think the best bet is actually a power bank. Unfortunately the one I have doesn't work with my MyVolts adapter. I need to get hold of one that does
My knowledge of batteries isn't great. This is what it says in the manual: You can use the following types of batteries with the SP-404SX. Do not use any other type of batteries. • Alkaline AA SIZE Dry Battery • Ni-MH AA SIZE Rechargeable Battery
The unit allows both alkaline and Ni-MH batteries, thats all I can find out. Here's the link to the manual: static.roland.com/manuals/sp-404mk2_reference/eng/17805229.html?&k=batteries
@@spvidz Thanks. Maybe they updated it so it detects them automatically. You just never know if you're getting the correct remaining amount with rechargeables. I tried new batteries and I was at 84%. But they were no reputable brand either.
hey ik this is unrelated but have you had any issues with the wave converter software on mac? it says that it needs to be updated when I try to open it and that I need to contact the developer. I just downloaded the new mac operating system.
Never had that man, I don't know if you saw my video on using 'import' but its actually really straight forward - might be a good alternative for you th-cam.com/video/C_RkYHhbAww/w-d-xo.html
Do you know if it makes any difference on battery life or hardware life if I keep batteries inside as well as have it plugged in most of the day if not all day?
Bro.. this is a MUST HAVE channel if you have a SP!! Great stuff as usual bro!🙏🏾✊🏾
Cheers man! Appreciate that 🙏
Bro. I was literally bout to do some research on this cuz I’m going on a camping trip. Haha your so clutch! Thanks!

I never knew that you can change the colour lights on the sp. Thanks for the information :)
😁 no worries man. It’s such a random feature! Wonder why they built it in
Great tips!! I hadn’t RTFM’ed about the battery setting! 😬 Thanks!
No problem, glad to help! :)

Np man! Appreciate you watching 🙏

Nice one man, yeah not sure what it actually does when you change the settings but as it says to do it in the manual is probably a good idea :)
Super Informative! I need to make sure to watch all the way through before asking questions lol
Thanks man. Glad it was useful 💥
@spvidz thanks again for the sp education my guy! Love the channel and the information! Need more live sets with 404!
That’s a good shout man! Will look into it!

Thanks man, appreciate that. I can put a black option on there if you want?
Why is it important to set the batterie type? Dous it prolong the sp life?
Not sure tbh man. Says to do it in the manual so I wouldn’t recommend not doing it!
Should definitely invest in some Eneloops! Much better with battery life and easier to recycle too 🙏

@@spvidz If you find a power bank that has a decent charge life, let us know :)
Great tips. Thank you. Is it okay to use disposable lithium ion batteries and is there a setting for it as well? Thx

No problem man 👌
Is the option to change battery type on the MK2 as well? I got a few rechargeables that I want to keep handy in the SP bag.

DAWs crash and samplers run out of battery. The times never change!
🤣

I was wondering about that as well. Not sure what happens with that but my instinct is to take the batteries out 🤷🏼♂️
I'd be worried that the batteries might leak if I forget them in there.
Yup that’s a fair point!
how to do all this on original sp404 /
Not sure sorry man, i've never owned an OG. I'm sure the manual will show you, I think the sx has more features than the OG though
@spvidz ...i have the same problem...manual
recommends to use alkaline batteries only...no shortcut found. would be glad for an other option! thx😍🔥😘
time for a new pad
haha definitely! Been needing a new pad sheet for a while now
Thanks a lot 😊
