  • In this video I break down the best cables for making beats. I've used the SP404sx as an example but this should be the same for all the SP devices as they all have phono inputs and outputs.
    If you have any questions or comments let me know.
    Here are links to the cables:

    • @spvidz
      @spvidz  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've only done it a couple of times and there was always an engineer there to help but basically a phono to phono or phono to double jack cable would be useful to take along with you. I went into a mixer a couple of times and the other time I had no idea - engineer sorted it for me!

    • @spvidz

      So long as the record player doesn't need amplification yes. You just need to make sure EXT SOURCE is lit and it should work fine. You can play around with FX while its playing too!

    ace! what would you recommend i set my input and output gain on the sp 404. trying to avoid clipping and noise... also is it a good idea to gain stage samples in logic to -18 or so before i load them into the sp so ive got more headroom to mix/clean sound?

    Hey man great video as I’m getting closer to buying an sp-404, I had a quick question so could I use the 3.5 mm to phono to both record samples from my phone into the 404 and then record from the 404 into my laptop with the 3.5 to phono?

    • @spvidz
      @spvidz  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey man not sure of the sound quality of those inputs on a laptop. You would need to make sure its aux as well, an audio interface is your best bet, or a cheaper alternative is something like this amzn.to/3mt4U8h

    • @spvidz
      @spvidz  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, you just need the right cables, e.g a twin 1/4" jack to go in the outputs of the SP and a single 1/4" jack for the input of the pedal. Something like this - amzn.to/4dbnvP8

    Strange occurence but my rca cables seem to be very loose when i plug them into my sp-404SX. They just keep falling out and don't make that "click" like other cables when i insert them. I would hate to just by another pair, but they look just like the ones shown in this video: an rca to quarter inch cable.

    • @spvidz
      @spvidz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They vary depending on manufacturer - and no they are not the kind of cables that clip in just so you know, they just slide on. I have some that are a good fit and some that are super tight. The tight ones are not good. They feel like I'm going to do damage when I pull them off.
