  • Not the best, but hopefully good enough!
I decided to do this song because it would be a nice break from the other loud, distorted velvet underground tracks. This is one of my favourite later velvet underground song, written and sung by their second bassist Doug Yule.
I decided not to add Doug Yules bass because I don't have an accurate representation of his bass guitar.
For the 12st Electric Guitar in the intro (possibly played by Lou Reed or more likely Sterling Morrison) I used my Squier 70s Vibe Stratocaster to represent the Fender XII guitar (which was owned by both Lou and Sterling)
To replicate the 12st sound, I duplicated the recorded audio, and added an octave effect to the second track.
For Lou Reed's Rhythm Guitar, I used my Hohner acoustic guitar panned left (Bottom Guitar)
For Sterling Morrison's 12st Lead Guitar Part, I used a similar process to that of the 12st Electric. I recorded the part with my Hohner acoustic, again (the Guitar located on top) and once again duplicated the original recorded audio, and pushed one up the octave.
I hope you enjoyed! If you enjoyed, please subscribe and share so more people can see these videos! thank you :)

Hell yeah, great to see another velvet underground song! Sounds awesome. Gotta say the simulated 12 string effect sounds legit. Btw how's the progress on getting the country gent going?

Thanks luke! Just hope more people get to see this, it's pretty annoying noone really watches VU covers. It's still not estimated to be in stock until probably about August or September which is a rlly massive pain!!

I think Lou or Sterling played the Electric Guitar intro on a regular six-string guitar, probably a Gibson ES-345. Also Lou wrote this one as well as all the other tracks on the album.

I disagree, the sound of the intro is distinctively that os a 12st instrument

@@LucaColaMusic really? Well, I have a 12-String Danelectro so I guess I could test it out

@@elirosen1391 Reed and or Morrison were in possession of a Fender XII at the time (confirmed in a photograph) which is why I used the strat as a representation.
