You would notice the difference more if you removed foams. The foams block out a lot of sound frequencies and it hides the cheap sounds from the pc plate. I find aluminum with no foams to be the best sound.

FR plate sounds deeper. Definitely an improvement.

Do you think thocky switches would turn out more muted or clacky on an FR4 plate vs the PC plate?

I just installed mine which came in today. I gotta say, the sound is definitely more defined compared to the PP plate. I paired this with CS piano and MOA profile keycaps and the sound profile with this config is definitely a huge improvement.

That's interesting. I know that plate have an impact on the sound but such a difference with a FR plate is impressive ! 😃 For me the difference is more than half a day 😅

Thanks bro! Plus, it made this entry-level aluminum keyboard very premium by just replacing the stock pc plate. :)

Does it feel like the switches click into the fr4 plate better than the PC plate?

For me yeah. FR4 will make the switch sound more defined especially when you're using a marbly/clacky switches. :)

does stabilizers and switches fit tightly/snugly into the fr4 plate? i've bought the aluminum plate from the same shop before and unfortunately the cutting is not that good. might even say it has the same cutting quality as the stock plate. some switch slots are loose and some are very tight. as for stabilizers slot, all of them are loose

The fr4 that I bought is good. The stabs fits nicely well..

Just got this keyboard. My first custom mechanical. Though i hate the flex when i apply pressure. Is this better than PC plate? Or should i try POM or aluminium. I want to keep the thocc but reduce the flex as it feels cheap.

@@SarveshNaik5 you shoulr try aluminum or fr4. I didn't like the quality of their pc plate, it feels really cheap tbh :)

@@jtechreviews2021 Yeah it really feels cheap due to flex. Yeah i wanna try alu or fr4. But i don't know what to get. I don't wanna order both. What would you recommend? FR4 or alu? The cost is same for both on aliexpress. i dont want it to flex meaning stiffer feel when i apply while maintaining the thocc. FR4 sounds good in your video. Does it flex when you press hard?

@@SarveshNaik5 fr4 does not flex and it does not have any pinging, aluminum might have pinging so I guess you have to get the fr4 👍

hey! nope, there are 3 different types of FR4. Different cuts, design and materials. Just choose the one you like. I got the P900+ because I like the direction of the flex cut.

I've been debating on replacing the plate in my Hi75 with the FR4 variant, but I'm terrified of removing the knob safely without breaking anything. You're seems to come off much easier. What's your secret?

Many thanks for the comparison. Perhaps try using the same keycaps as well, just my 2 cents
