Finally i found somebody that actually does a sound test on the soundbar rather than talking all of the video. My question is would it be possible for me to plug a Samsung Subwoofer i have stored away to work alongside this soundbar and how would i go by pairing them together
That's the big up side to this system, it's girlfriend/spouse friendly and makes them happy with no wires and speakers everywhere and still give you a decent sound experience.
Absolutely loved the review. I'm just getting rid of my full Sonos Arc, Sub and 2 x Play 1's for the Ambeo. I have a spare Q accoustics 3060s sub so will be good to go. I'm no newcomer to HiFi Audio and have been well into it since my first system purchased after winning £150 at bingo in 1970. I have gone through many full speaker systems and am the first to appreciate and acknowledge the quality of systems costing many thousands of pounds. However, like many people I don't have the perfect room spare to build the perfect Home Theatre system so like most have to combine it with what's in the living room which includes she who must be obeyed (If you know what I mean) along with the clutter of furniture. I have read many reviews on this bar to convince me it's the one for me and my current home surroundings.
Ive had mine a week from Richer sounds mate and i can honestly say its amazing for just being a single Bar, i find myself looking behind me or up above for helicopters and talking, I had Black hawk down on the other night and i couldn't believe the sound it was putting out, It literally just goes about its business like nothing else, The sound switches from right to left through the bar brilliantly, And like everyone says yeah but it doesn't sound as good as having a speaker behind you, This does a great job of 3D Audio and surround sound and it dose not get the reviews it has for nothing, There is literally no other out there that compares 👍🏻
Hi Dave sorry for the late reply... lots happening. If you do manage to purchase the ambeo you will not be disappointed...you will be shocked, impressed and amazed at the same time. But also consider a sub to go with it if the budget will allow...she will thank you.(we hope)
Great review OJR! Have had the Ambeo for a year now and still loving it! Totally agreed if you want to get really low, you'll need a decent sub. Compared the SVS PC2000 pro and the SB3000 with the Ambeo and the latter was a much better match with the Ambeo. Also borrowed the Rel 1205HT from a friend for a day, wow...just deep tight bass, far better than the SB3000 but the 3000 had more depth, and drive over the 1205 mainly because it has a more powerful amp, but loses out on speed and attack of the HT1205.. In an ideal situ...i'd love to run a Y cable to split the output to dual 1205s or g*d forbid - the predator 1508s....

I got a Bose Smart Sound 300 and it’s amazing considering it’s size and price point. But without third party subwoofer support I’m considering the Sennheiser Ambeo.

Just sold my Spendor A6r speakers and Cyrus amp and CD player...Christ what have I done, but after 25 years with Hi Fi wires and speaker wires and CDs and Vinyl tweaks, yes I even put my CDs in the freezer to improve the sound, yes I an sane. But time to de clutter and I know, no soundbar can match what I had, as long as it does well with movies and ok with music then I can be happy again. My only worry is the lip sync issue you mentioned

to be honest it really is a question of "what sounds good to your ear" the room has been calibrated to your layout, just switch between them and see what makes you happy.
One thing you guys fail to realise is that being a all in one system is that if it break down all of it does lol. Where as 7.2 set up I could replace the amp or speaker. Where as paying same for another all in one again would be REALLY stupid. Dont mean to offend just pointing out something you might not of thought of in long run on other hand insurance on it might save your ass lol.

The latest iteration of the B&W 600 series is really good if you feel like updating and they also have a promo on the 700 series if you want to upgrade your system. I have a Marantz SR 7013 AV receiver & Monitor Audio Silver 200 AV 5.1 package but I swapped out the FX's for the Silver 50's although I'm going to get FX's later in the year to do 7.2.2. configuration. Hello i just bought this soundbar for change my old samsung hwq80r, but the seinnheiser looks less powerful than the samsung When I put them on equal volume. It can go up to a higher volume, there is a significant difference between the two soundars, is it normal? With the ambeo the max level is 50 and its not so loudy in a room of 40m2 and with samsung on 33/100 its so loud.
It depends of your budget 🤔 1 bar (ambeo) 2500 Eueo or 1 cinema system (arc, sub, 2 play one) 1800-2100 Euro... I can get the ambeo for 2299 euro, but it is still to much I think.
I calibrated with the sub connected...sub placement makes a difference as we know. Having the volume on the sub at 12:00. Simply increase the setting for the sub on the app see how you get on. And or do the famous sub crawl where you place the sub in your seated position and you kneel or walk across the front speakers from left to right. And hear where the bass sounds best, then place the sub in that position.
Philip Walker how many HZ should I set it at if I have it in the app at 12db and set the sub at about half potential the bar says increase sub level. It only seems to calibrate if I have the sub at a low level during calibration. And I know what the sub is capable of based on my previous sound bar
This guy is funny. Audiophiles do get a little offend by this soundbar being so compact and powerful at this price point. Co worker of mine got a little testy with me when I asked about the Sennisheisr..😆
Audiophiles with a good setup wont get offended by this lol. 2k is alot of money, you can get incredible stuff for that money. And powerful? yeah for the size i agree, in comparison with a real subwoofer? nah it is very impressive what they have done with the form factor, that i agree.

Audiophiles with a good setup wont get offended by this lol. 2k is alot of money, you can get incredible stuff for that money. And powerful? yeah for the size i agree, in comparison with a real subwoofer? nah it is very impressive what they have done with the form factor, that i agree.
Aren't all these tests done without the need for a subwoofer?
