  • I hiked the east slopes of Snowmass Mountain in May 2018. This is a long day hike for some but most will stretch this hike into two days. This is one of my favorite 14ers in the state because of how remote it is.

      Don't judge the quality/editing - some of these old ones are pretty painful for me to watch haha. Thanks though, goal is to keep reaching as many people as possible!

    The otherside of Snowmass has a few rotten gravel routes that are shorter but you make up for the sliding in the gravel .

    This is fantastic! Thank you!! We are going in late June (6/28-6/30), and this is incredibly helpful!

      Andrew Turner awesome, glad I could help! Expect much less snow when you go.

    • @agturner
      @agturner 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. Good call. I expect a lot of what you saw to be melted away. Is there any decent place to camp a couple miles away from Snowmass Lake? We were thinking about going in Thursday morning, camping Thursday night / early departure for the summit climb Friday morning / back in camp Friday afternoon. Then, we're considering going back down valley a bit and camping lower, mostly so we could enjoy a fire. Any thoughts on that?

    • @TheVirtualSherpa
      @TheVirtualSherpa  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Andrew Turner for sure, best spot to camp is around the lake, lots of camping spots there but fires aren’t allowed. For camping lower, you can find some stuff about 2 miles from the trailhead or at around the trailhead itself, check fire restrictions though, we’ve been very dry so high chance there is a burn ban.

      Hey Mauricio; I hope you are doing well and the marmots are staying away from your backpacks. I was reading the comments on this video for snowmass opinions and thought I recognized your name haha. Small world.

    Thank you for the vid! How much shear exposure is there walking that last ridge line? How wide on the walk over?

    • @TheVirtualSherpa
      @TheVirtualSherpa  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not too much exposure and I don’t remember exactly but I believe it’s about 10feet wide.
