    Hello, thank you for the video.
    I followed your instructions, but the video, even though it starts, appears rotated and too zoomed in compared to the TV. I fixed the rotation by changing the rotationAngle, but I'm not sure how to handle the zoom.

    This video I like quite well and explains it also quite simple, but no matter which video you take it lacks an interaction, eg with the help of a press E then he plays the video first and again E press he stops the video. For learning this video is really good, but I lack the reference to how you can realize something inGame. I think this can also be built in the Blueprint. But I lack such a YT movie, because I do not know how to do that, I'm rather a novice.
    Because it's totally annoying when the user constantly gets videos slapped around the ears. It should always be connected with an interaction. So that the user can decide for himself whether he plays the video.Everywhere only this part is explained. But that you can realize something like that with the Unreal Engine, I don't know how! It would be nice if you could make a TH-cam video about this.

      I am planning on releasing a few videos on a full blown TV with volume controls, TV channels and turning the TV on and off very soon, so stick around if you want to see that. It's going to build on the new version of the video I linked in the description :-).

    Went through the tutorial twice to make sure I didn't miss anything. My final result is - music plays fine but the video is showing only 4 pixels (2x2) that are stretched across the screen. The thumbnail of the material looks accurate as to what should be displayed. I've looked over everything and can't find an issue... any suggestions?
    Edit: The video plays fine on any surface created in the unreal editor/not in a BP. The TV I modeled was imported from Fusion 360.

    Thanks for your tutorial o how to add video in UE. I am attempting to add video to pre-existing geometry. The results vary. Sometimes on a cube it will play my video on all sides. On walls, sometimes it will be on the opposite wall side. Sometimes I'm just getting a black screen. What is the criteria to add a video?

    Just gave up. No matter what I do, it does not show video. :(
    It will be actually fun to set scene so that on TV plays some boring video material, but when actor approaches (on overlap trigger) that TV, it plays for example 'Breaking News' with the content related to the game. Something like: "Something bad happening in our town, alien invasion..." or similar.

    Wouldn't make more sense to put the Slider Max of the Scale Parameter Rotation to 360 instead of 1? Sure, you can use 0.25 to make it 90°, but it feels weird.

    • @InsertNameHereGameDev
      @InsertNameHereGameDev  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The intended max is 1. While you could do extra math to convert a 360 into a intended 1, I don't really see it as necessary because you can see the image rotate in real time with the material instance ;-).

    Guys for those who are getting a black screen when they import/link their movie to the media player and it's .MOV or .MP4 or whatever, I don't know why cause I'm not an Unreal wizard but the internet told me to convert to .WEBM and that solved it for me.

    very cool. is there a way you can have it off and make the video play when you get within a certain distance? or have like a piece of art on the wall and it switches to the video when you get in certain range of it or approach the art and click it?

    Great video. But what I'm trying to do is display multiple short videos one after the other on the same screen. Is this even possible? Also how would you set up another TV screen next to the existing one, but displaying a different video? I've tried having more than 1 video media in the same project but can't figure out how to set them up independently.
