Gisa is my main commander deck. I think you're missing out on some amazing (and budget) cards in this deck. 1. Disciple of Bolas We're making big creatures to sacrifice, here's another card which takes advantage of that. Honestly best card draw in my deck. 2. Ayara, First of Lochwain Every zombie that etbs drains opponents for 1. That can be a lot with the amount Gisa makes. Also draws cards, which is very desirable. 3. Grafted Wargear I find it outperforms Lashwrithe, Strata Scythe, etc. just because it's +3 with no equip cost. Really saves you a lot of mana in the long run. I'd also put forward for consideration my pet card Coffin Queen. She's a zombie, but more than that, she's repeatable reanimation at only three mana which can also hit opponents graveyards (and exiling the creature if you so choose). Just having her bring back Gary or Fleshbag Marauder every turn can be pretty devastating.
Thanks for taking the time to share these suggestions! So far all the changes I made from the guys at MTG Budget Decks have been crimes of opportunity. Just a card or three as I open packs, but I like your suggestions so will seek out some of the cards if I have them. The original build was restriction was NO card over a dollar. I have long since abandoned that. LOL
I’ve been toying with the idea of a Ghoulcaller Gisa deck for a while. One thing I’ve never understood while looking at other lists is why they leave out Rotting Regisaur. It just seems like such an obvious include from an outsider perspective because of how many zombies you get for sac-ing it. Is there something I’m missing?
I think that would probably be an awesome include in the deck. In my area at least she is not a popular commander. So I think a lot of the list might be out of date and not include some of the newer zombies. At least that's what I have found, I play the deck regularly. And that's why I updated every year or so. The deck Has Changed by about 44 cards from the initial build.
Sorry about that! Thank you for taking the time to point that out!!! Here is the new link to the current deck... and I will update the video too! www.moxfield.com/decks/3V-jR357h02I4xJYEiEP-Q
Good question, I think the best answer is Crux is only 5 mana AND I think it was the only thing I had at the time! =) Also when the deck was first built it had the restriction that all cards be under $1. Thank you for taking the time to watch AND the time to comment! I am sorting cards right now and will be making some upgrades as the day goes on. Thanks again!
@@tibaltsapprentice Fair point. I forget that all decks start somewhere - my Volo, Guide to Monsters deck was full of all sorts of funky top end threats before I got all the staples :) I like Gisa more than the other commanders because she is mono-colour. Blue gives you so much extra fuel but I always considered zombies as black only tribe
@@techpriest8965 I agree 100% about them being black. Having said that I do have one or two B/U zombie decks. How often do you upgrade your decks? I have about 30 commanders, BUT I try to run them all throughout the year. I am lucky I have at least 2 different shops I play at so I get 6 or more commander games a week in.
@@tibaltsapprentice Whoah! Thirty commanders! I only play kitchen table with my friends, no LGS in my town tho there is a place where people play daily but they play Centurion commander format :/ I have Volo, Ghyrson Starn, Klauth, Mondrak and Talrand which I consider complete or mostly complete. I have Captain N'gathrood and Ria Ivor which are so-so. I upgrade them every couple of months or so. I want to focus on completing them and getting the staples. For exapmle if I get bored of Ghyrson - I can easily make Niv Mizzet or Veyran. If I get bored of Mondrak - I can run Trostani. I can buy 3 mana Athreos to replace Ria Ivor etc. etc. I am definitely the guy withost decks in our group. I want a Krenko deck, Rat Tribal and Otharri decks lol but those are too expensive for now.
@southparkdudz LOL I am so far down the line from the King I am not even in the same kingdom! What kind of loser choose to name themselves Tibalt's Apprentice! 😝

I am not sure, but I believe I have been pummeled by that deck. :)
Only once or twice! ;-)
Woot woot, wow this deck is awesome! LOVE IT!

Why the crux of fate? I would rather run Kindred Dominance/In Garruk's wake or Mutilate?
