Take-Off ab 07:30.
Vorbereitungen: • Mil Mi-26 (RA-06291) i...
Liftoff at 7:30 just as the rotor cones up. This is beautiful.
What an absolutely AWESOME powerful monster this chopper is. I mean to be there and listen to those massive jet turbines spooling up. And to witness the take off in person. Unbelievable power...!!!
TH-cam in 2021: *hey, wanna see largest chopper flying?*
What an absolute beautiful 8 bladed flying helicopter
Einer der Giganten der Lüfte !
Wow, amazing sight!! At 0:08 I can see the rotor and tailrotor starting to move!!
10:00 AMAZING SHOT AND AUDIO, MATE!!
This leaves Sikorsky in the dark, Russians are great!
Qué helicóptero tan impresionante👍🤗😀
Mannnn that's a big heli...
Was für ein Monster. ^^
heavy 30-ton vehicle takes off for a long time.Russia always so - "long harness, but quickly go ..."
took a year time to take off :)
3:44 Part when throttle increases, and rotor blade sound begins at 4:20!!
I'm not sure why this took that long. Maybe they wanted the engine to reach the working temperature before they start. It was a completely new engine with (i think) less than 10 or 15 operating hours.
Could be the same than driving full throttle with a cold car engine; this will also shorten the life-time.
It's normal for Mi-26s. These things are built to operate in Siberia (i.e. -40 °C) where it takes a whole lot longer to reach operation temps and warm up the oil. They wouldn't need such a long time in central Europe, but they don't change their SOPs depending on outside temperature.
I think it's fun for the audience waiting for a response or dispatcher. Preferable to the first. When heated it turns the engine "idle", at much lower speeds. And rocking in isolation - it is also playing to the audience.
20.000PS Riesenvieh :D Geil.
it's obscene! 😁
i can't believe this behemoth could fly! Russians never ceased to amaze me. i salute you comrades
What is a helicopter of the Russian Ministry of Emergency situations doing in Switzerland? Was that some sort of training mission?
The helicopter was used in Switzerland to relocate the catamaran of the Alinghi team ("Alinghi 5") from the Lake Geneva over the Alps to the Mediterranean Sea.
On their way back home from Lausanne to Warsaw they had an engine failure forcing them to do an emergency landing in Eggenfelden, Germany, where they were stuck for about 3 weeks until a new engine finally arrived.
So what? Russia is the country with best science on the world.
SO the crew was beeing polite & fun to pass over the runway before seting course home and nobody wave at them ? WTF for a public that is ?
*Frantic explosions in abdomen.
where is Eggenfelden located?
+Horacio Castillo It's in South Germany. Starting from Munich heading 70 degrees (about east north east) the Eggenfelden Airport (EDME) is located in a distance of 90 km (55 miles / 48 nautical miles)
+GrafKrolock82 . Thanks so much for your fast answer.
Have you ever heard of google? -.-

It took so long because the pilots where having a bottle of Vodka in the name of the motherland.
