FYI I’m almost done with an LED Projector variant of this quad projector setup if you are interested. It actually has quite a brighter hotspot with maybe slightly less width, but that’s what fog lights are for anyways. Plus it’s significantly cheaper with much less wiring. I’ll have fully built setups available soon as well! Keep on eye out on the Instagram channels for updates @snowboundcustoms or @snowboundt4r

Wow, one of th ebest retrofit videos I've seen...You made it look so easy, I've done some retrofit myself, but this quad projector looks stunning, keep it up!
I have my 3rd gen and i just got led bi-led projectors and im tackling this project and watching your video you make look easy. A guy feels confident on doing this. And i saw the whole thing without skipping any part of it.
PHENOMENAL tutorial man - fully appreciate the hours and detail that you put into this. I don’t even own a 4Runner and I found myself watching the entire thing, haha Keep up the great videos and you’ll skyrocket in subscribers ✊✊
Great video! Takes the fear out of tackleing this project. Any info on the new updated version? Unable to start because the kit in the link is unavailable. Thanks!!
Cool 3D printed projector alignment part you designed! Very impressive. Kind of want to try knocking out a design for my first gen tundra, but I think for me a single Morimoto LED projector retrofit will be good enough.
Super cool I'm currently making a dual Lazer projectors for all my lights on my 2004 VW Touareg so I will probably make the same crazy first in the world Touareg with quad Lazer projectors :) so this was rly helpful thank u
I have the morimoto d2s Projectors on MY 3rd gen 4runner But mine is a single projector high low beam morimoto hids Never seen a dual Projector Setup that is cool
Just looked it up and that may be a good method to use! What you saw in my video is just what I’ve been doing for years and definitely not the most correct way. Just something that worked for me. I’ll have to try the oven cleaner method another time
Man this was a great tutorial. I’ve had 2 3rd gens and they both got HID upgrades (built by me) the first was just the ACME Super H1 and that was 100% better than my halogens, the latest is the D2s 5.0 but I’m always wanting more. This kit may be my answer. Looks clean as hell.
I’ll call tomorrow re-order. Too tight to get a light shroud for drl angel eyes or outer light bars inside housing, just to remind me what to ask tomorrow. Excellent video 👍🙋🏻♂️
I’ll have an update soon on my IG page. I went through a lot of effort to find some top of the line LED projectors. The crazy thing is that these 2.5” LEDs are quite a bit brighter than the full size 3” HIDs. I guess LED tech has improved a lot over the last couple of years!
So end result; Both low/high beams are on at the same time while lights are on? Is it possible to have outer diameter light rings to potentially aid turn signal or only dusk parking lights installed! You’re only using morimoto mini’s? Can you provide a X comparison; LED vs HID to compare light throw/quality. Thank you, nice video. I am working 55+ hours a week, so might build pre order. Cheers
Hi, I was using the morimoto Micro D2S with 55W. In the end I’ve stopped selling these HIDs in replacement of the new LED projectors I have now. The LEDs are brighter, less expensive and much reliable that what I was getting with the morimoto. In regards to halos, I don’t add them to lights anymore like I did in the last. They are really all too dim to be using on a vehicle as a turn signal if it’s bright outside, and you can’t see them at nighttime either because the projectors would be turned on. Oh and also yes, all 4 lights work together at the same time for both low beam and high beam!
@@SnowboundCustomsI’m in inconclusive with either going hid or led but I’m really looking for is the width of light output I’m looking for a projector that has good width any recommendations?
i'm not familiar with the lifespan of a projector light. i overland and if on the trail, i need a spare part kit for something like this. What would you recommend for a parts list for that?
I’ve temporarily removed the product. I’m making two new versions. HID version will be gone. The new ones will be LED projectors because the new ones are actually a good bit brighter and cost a LOT less, and a LED projector + Baja Designs Squadron version of it!
@@SnowboundCustoms when will it be available? I’ll be buying the kit the day it drops. I’m doing a full rebuild right now and will be moving to all the lights shortly.
I actually just put them back up on the website. DIY Kits are $550 including the projectors and fully built is $1200. I've been spending the past months creating fixtures to make the process easier. It took too much labor to justify selling them before, but now I have the process dialed in a lot more! It still takes a lot of time though haha
@@thediddlefiddler5569 this is an older video now. I’ve updated the kit to be much more cost effective, use less parts, and these new LEDs are brighter and more reliable
Sorry for the delayed response! I've built a few sets since this video and found that you don't need to add JB Weld on the inside. It's plenty strong with it just on the backside out of sight.
Great mod. I have the bx built projectors from TEQ customs but my passenger side is always shaking, no matter how many times I have tried to tighten it. I wonder if that drill jig will work on a 1st gen tacoma?
It won’t work (I think). I’ll try to make a separate one that works with Tacomas. And ya, it probably shakes because there isn’t much surface area for the projector to clamp onto the factory housing. I made these holders a very tight fit so it fully encompasses the bottom of the projector and they’re pretty rock solid in there with 0 shaking
It looks just same as the lights on most modern cars so it isn’t blinding from their perspective. Of course that’s until you go over a hill crest and then ya it could blind someone depending on how low you have the lights angles
that looks amazing! Beat any led headlights in terms of brightness. what i like was , it light up 3 lanes on a freaking highway😁I bet it can do 4 no problem.
