I am very fortunate as a son of a mother that was very ill. I had my youngest daughter, wife, and me cooking oatmeal. These women need a reward. My mom spent the last year of her life with us in MI. so she was buried by my little brother who passed away in 91 from CF. Our minister and his wife are both very talented singers and playe guitar. For my parents' 62nd anniversary, Dad asked them to play and sing this song during church as a surprise for Mom. That was their last anniversary - Dad went to wait in Heaven for Mom. Our minister and his wife played and sang this at Dad's memorial service. He'd already asked them to before he died (he was in home hospice). 11 months later, Mom joined Dad for their stroll over Heaven.

Sweet lady I pray that the peace of God will keep you and your husband. My sweet husband finished his life here a year ago tomorrow. The Lord blessed us with 50 years and 2 months together. The Lord has strengthened me and comforted me as I walk on with my sweetheart by my side. I miss him but I also rejoice cause I know he loved Jesus with a whole heart. Peace to you.

I'm an old Georgia man myself, born and raised here, about 40 miles from Alan, he was from Newnan Ga., bout 50 miles south of Atlanta,
everything he sings is pure Georgia country. My wife and I have been to Newnan, seen the house Alan grew up in, the high school he went to and the place down on the Chattahoochee River where the high school kids hung out back then....Not a better singer or guy around than him.....Glad he made it big time, him, Denise, the kids, and his parents deserve it.....Hang in there buddy..

This song reminds me of the young man who brought me to my faith in Christ, his name being Brandon Vaughn Burlsworth, he was a fellow believer in Jesus and he stayed true to his faith even if life's struggles tried bringing him down. However at only 22 years old in 1999 he unfortunately was killed in a car accident and crossed over from this world of pain, sorrow and sin to heaven, every time I listen to any song of Alan's I think of Brandon cause he has flown away, strolling over heaven, he's a reminder that all Christians will be going to heaven and other stuff. My heart hurts knowing Brandon's family is grieving but I can be reminded that grieving won't last forever through these hard days. Every time a song of Alan's plays and I'm looking at a picture of Brandon I smile thinking "Loss is hard but God is good and wipe our tears" I really recommend Brandon's story, definitely an emotional roller coaster 🎢 😢 but so good at the same time ❤💔

Most of us who sang professional or semi-professional and do so today, we got our start in church when we were very small, at least I did. Grew up trying to play like Hovie Lister, and it seems all my Legends are when I grew up with is gone now except for Bill and Gloria. When Alan Jackson came along we knew country music wasn't going nowhere! The new music now is too much like pop it's just not country and western music. Thanks to Allen for putting a smile on my face although there's a chair in my eye. My husband recently passed from cancer and it's just me and the animals now. It doesn't get real bad except this time of morning. Everybody's asleep but me. Anyway didn't mean to go all that way but thank you for these wonderful wonderful songs that we can hang on to until we get to sing them in heaven

This is what I called short and spicy!!! I'm obsessed with this song. I'll play it to and from work, it gives me such joy to know that one day I'll stroll all over Heaven with my Mom who has been resting peacefully for a month short of six years. I grew up with my mama and grandma singing it in church, my parents live with my husband and I, I’ve been taking care of them but daddy is leaving us, hospice is helping me now with them both I’m trying so hard to be brave, thank you Jesus for the strength through this time they’re so precious to me. Glener - my mother stepped from this life into everlasting life - 13 days ago. I'm teetering between weeping/wailing and rejoicing because I know where she went (heaven) and I know Who she is with (Jesus) Sending you prayers, love and most of all, the Hope for our Grand Reunion in Heaven one day.
