I might be biased in my assessment as a Crusaders fan. However, I feel mo'unga has the set piece play over Barrett. But Barrett is the broken play king. Regardless of who's who in what play, Hansen has should be smiling with his options. I'll be very interested to see how he plays the two throughout the rugby championship and through the RWC
I'm from Ireland and I feel as though New Zealand will allow ireland to have alot of the possession and wait for the counter. This is where we will see Beauden barrett at his most dangerous as you said from broken play. I think mo'ungas kicking ability for a fly half at the moment is the best in the world. Never seen someone be so precise with his kicking.

Both are excellent choices for fly half (No.10). It would be difficult to compare them. Comparing such kind of talent is not healthy. However, I would choose Beauden Barrett because he can play another backline position pretty well. That position being full back (No.15). Mo'unga is quite restricted to No.10 and therein lies the major difference between the two of them. Players like Beauden Barrett, James O'Connor, Matt Giteau and Damien McKenzie tend to have an edge over other players. Their edge is derived from their flexibility to play other positions.
Barrett has his golden momments and messes up sometimes but richie does all the simple stuff right with no mistakes he doesn't need to do anything amazing he just doesn't mess up

However between the two in terms of ball play, decision making and a general kicking game Mounga is the better of the two. He’s proved that three seasons straight.
