I finally get some Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2's fitted to my BMW M2 Competition. I then talk about our 1st ever private track day (straight 6 track days). The actual track day takes place at the Llandow circuit in South Wales on Thursday 25t July 2019.
Track day only (Thurs 25th July) - £175.00

Hi Joe, just shortly: I pickup my M2 C on 24 June 2019. Now I understand as owner, learning every day, enjoying, I drive I smile and constantly surprised by this machine! I don't need radio, radio is under the hood, I don t need coffee holder because this car asking you to keep both hand on the steering wheel, drinking coffee on the petrol station looking at the M2. Finally I have a car for drive you feel the connection there no barrier between you and this machine. Regarding to the sound is just perfect to me, depend also how old you are for me as I says is perfect and I do understand the germans constructters in this point. I have to own this vehicle to understand. To end :-) when I drive on mode efficienty our son sleep on the back seat. Thank you to meet here, yours videos help me a lot. Got my 2018 M2. The stock Continental 3's were OK.. but already burned in less than 18K. I do not drive like a madman, just slightly aggressively. The MPS 4s going in Tuesday, cant wait.
18k is very good going, you will notice massive difference in grip, but don't expect 18k miles if you drive hard 😉

Such great tyres in the dry even from cold but dont lean on them much in the wet, theres a fair bit of push understeer on roundabouts at low speed in the m2 but its nice and tail happy out of them;)

You may want to consider taking in some of the Brecon beacon roads in future if your down this area
Yeah might go for a quick squirt on Friday, good friends live near Brecon and spent many years driving around there...

Another brilliant video Joe. Such a lot of wear on the inside of the tyre might mean you need your alignment doing, especially after you've lowered it.
Cheers man! Inside edge is a real BMW M car wear point due to the negative camber, but alignment is getting done this week :-)

I swear if I saw bmw bosses at the top I would drop 2 the floor and beg them to gift a Cs or Audi a RS6 . You make use with ur ability and we enjoy via your voice over and great videos. Maybe michelin bosses need a visit from me 2.

Joe quick question if you don't mind, im getting a M2 Comp in Sept, how many miles did you get out of the tyres? I know you drive hard but it will be great to know what to expect. Thanks
Joe ignore the question as I've read through the other feeds, 3000 miles is low, I think I'll be a bit more steadier on the road than you, slow in other words 😁
Hey buddy, congrats on the new car! You can easily get 10k + miles out of some PSS's on the Comp, these were done in 3k due to the Spanish Petrol Heads Tour though ;-)
Have you already looked at the new Goodyear tyres? They are apparently better than the Michelins.
I'm trying some next month, I've heard they match the Michelin's too!

Did you check the rear camber after fitting the lowering springs
I had alignment done a few weeks after the springs and ACS wheels were installed, wear on the inside is fairly normal with M cars negative camber
joe what's your thoughts on the spy shots of the coming m2 cs?

Hey Neil, yeah BMW clearly had a warehouse full of SC 3's, early 2016 M2's (like my original one) came with Micheline PSS's, but then BM stuck those ten year old tyres on M2's for the following couple years... They actually feel okay and handle wet weather well, throw some Michelin Pilot Sport 4S's on the car next, will transform its ability! Cheers

How many miles did you get from the SS tires?
This set only lasted 3000 miles due to the Petrol Head Spanish trip, normally over 10k of hard ish miles is possible

I thought competition comes with the big 6 piston brakes.. brakes I saw here were the 4 piston jobs.. on competition?
In the UK the standard M2 comp comes with the blue caliper, the silver six pistons are an up grade that is around £1500 extra. I think some other countries get the six pots standard but not the UK

Yeah as Orange says they're optional in the UK. The big brakes (off the old F10 M5) weigh a lot more and were very delayed when ordering mine. The big ones look awesome though!
@@JoeAchilles1 hey thanx! Great vid. I just had a rcf that had the 6 pot brembos. They were great. These ones might be even better.. some of best brakes I ever had for the size of car..
