  • The Cairnwell Three. Rusting metal. Ski chairs hanging in the wind. Wooden spike fences strung with wire. We put off these three munro's but now can't believe we waited so long. Three very different and sometimes very odd summits but an incredible experience on the way to each of them.
A blustery wet drive from Arbroath to the Glenshee Ski Centre did not promise a great day out in the hills but how wrong were we.
Deemed an ugly, cluttered walk, we set off not quite knowing what to expect but we hope our short film will convince you of the beauty in these hills and inspire you to set foot upon them very soon.
A steep but very quick climb to the first summit....forty minutes! An easy and beautiful trek to the second and doubling back to the third, an easy round for a quick day in the hills.
My knee trouble flared up again after a slight slip during the walk and we opted for a quick exit down the front of The Cairnwell rather than the longer track, would recommend this exit route.
A straightforward and enjoyable three summits that can be completed within around three to four hours.
    Hope you enjoy the video.

Some great views from these easy hills, did the same 3 recently in bitter cold wind. The ski tows didn't detract much. Thanks for sharing .👍🏼

We absolutely loved it Rob, hefty winds also but the spells of sunshine really made up for it.
