I don't know why but I loved this video and these 2 guys trying to get SIM cards! I have been to philippines several times and I am married to a filipina. Still I feel their pain. Unfortunately I don't have the patience and ability to laugh it off like they do and I really wish I did. LOL. They have a good attitude about it and I love how they interact with the filipino population. Filipinos are the most happy go lucky people I have ever met. Even when they don't have a dime they will laugh and joke around. Very nice video! I subscribed.
I'm a Filipino I actually find this entertaining! Hahahaha, the lady who sold you the hopia was actually giggling from excitement. I personally love the star bread to and not the hopia. Hopia for me is dry. The mobile load, so far, it's really a hassle.
@@jjbb3148 The area that they were in was the problem. The lack of Towers for that specific service provider which means fewer people distributing Load charges for the community. If they were in the capital or at least in the main cities, they wouldn't have problem with topping up load charges, the only problem that they'll encounter are scammed sim card numbers where your load would be eaten up by the company or someone. Better buy the sim card from an official retail store.

I lived there for three years so I can say been there done that and got the t-shirt. And that is the reason why Thailand is so awesome and the Philippines are still in the Stone Age. Tim just laughs at all the problems they face. :) Someone memtioned this already. They have these shorts that wick the sweat off your body (not just Under Armour) and tbey dry faster too. I have a couple and would suggest it for Tim!
the simcard doesnt work because you couldnt get any signal if you were at the beach. Weve been living near from the beach for 25years with no phone signal lol
You know why because hawai is a small destination and beaches go for 30+ kilometers in Philippines its not the tecnology its just too many houses to put a wifi tower
Filipino here, yes it's not the sim card...it's the network's fault why you have no signal...this is actually a big issue here in the Philippines.....the government is now doing something to fix this...hopefully things will improve in the near future.
@@trauma9709 Your confusing Cell service which provides a 3G/4G data service which can access the Internet with the term WiFi...they are two separate things. WiFi is short range found in your home, business..hotel ect...It does not have a tower. It is either free or can be locked with a password. Internet provided from the phone using a sim card and WiFi (Wireless Internet access from a router) should not be confused. You don't need a Sim Card to use Wifi. :)
The easiest way to find an ATM is go to the nearest municipal hall. They always have LandBank ATM's which is a gov't owned bank. It accepts Mastercard and Visa.

@marley *no* , humidity level in ph is extreme compared to daily nominal temperature. Relative humidity usually at 90% to 100% while the temp is not so extreme around 34, 35. 36 deg C. Thats why sweaty people will find it hard to dry since the air is saturated. Most HVAC engineers here will give emphasis the heat load from latent heat compared to middle east (where humidity is so low)

Hey Harald, my experience is that when I arrived and got out of Manila airport I bought a simcard (roaming) and I told the saleslady to install, put some load and set it up for me. I tested it by texting to the US of my new Phil.number before I left and it worked. Easy peasy and no problem at all.

@Michael Bravo the best way is to buy a sim card upon arriving at the airport. That's the only job they do like at Globe or Smart. Those tend to work all over the Philippines. Then you top off. Some sim card might require entering some specific numbers to work. That's where the people at the airport booths come in unlike someone selling sim cards at a sari sari store.. And the phone number is always listed on the envelope the sim card is bought in.
Bro new sims takes a while to adjust to signals. Especially when you guys are out in the coast. It's not the sim cards fault. It might be the reception in your area.
Harald was there in Bohol a month and a half ago and all I can say is that even if things don't work to westerners standards. The Filipinos make the best of it. I enjoyed so much the Filipines the people are so warm and helpful I will be back soon
Just a pro tip - do not take or buy cotton t-shirts. They hold water and make you miserable. Spend a couple extra dollars and get quick dry (copy of under armor if you want to go cheap). You will be glad you did!

@Michael Bravo the best way is to buy a sim card upon arriving at the airport. That's the only job they do like at Globe or Smart. Those tend to work all over the Philippines. Then you top off. Some sim card might require entering some specific numbers to work. That's where the people at the airport booths come in unlike someone selling sim cards at a sari sari store.. And the phone number is always listed on the envelope the sim card is bought in.

Bro new sims takes a while to adjust to signals. Especially when you guys are out in the coast. It's not the sim cards fault. It might be the reception in your area.

Harald was there in Bohol a month and a half ago and all I can say is that even if things don't work to westerners standards. The Filipinos make the best of it. I enjoyed so much the Filipines the people are so warm and helpful I will be back soon
Just a pro tip - do not take or buy cotton t-shirts. They hold water and make you miserable. Spend a couple extra dollars and get quick dry (copy of under armor if you want to go cheap). You will be glad you did!
