Hi Craig, question, I always wanted to know where the wrecked Supra had come from in the first F&F when Paul Walker first arrived with it on the flat bed at the shop. Would love know please.
my 2 cents are, if you are going to build a replica movie car it should be screen exact. exact paint, decal (if any), wheels (maybe tires), and if and only if it is shown/mentioned, engine to spec. anything internally i think is fair game. for example doms charger, the actual car did not have a blower but they did use a blown engine for looks. so technically doms replica wouldnt be blown but since they showed it with a blower the replica should have it. in the case of the supra other than the parts laid out on the floor they never specified anything other than that it was a 2J so any upgrades to the engine would be fine. back to paint, has to have yellow roll cage, blue inserts on doors. they did show "his supra" during body work/primer so they would have painted the engine bay to match, so id say engine bay needs to be color matched.
is the supra is going to be for show or can you guys put on the track so we can see what its capable of ? or are we just gona keep looking at it as paper wight ? almost 900 whp but 2st ger pull doest show anything guys? lets get it side ways like the movie

Honestly, I’d also do the engine bay black, but do better quality. On a true replica, you don’t want someone seeing the original and then saying the replica is not accurate. Even the cams are questionable because it will chop differently and sound different
Do it right ..
Engine bay , door jams , ETC
Hopefully they don’t cut too many corners
Little weary about the brakes
Why?
@@mrstrawcloud original car didn’t have wilwood
They seem to be not copying so much as just going with whatever works easiest/cheapest
@@Barton_Motors_Ltd bro the company that made those brake calipers seem to be long gone and I’m sure it’s pretty hard to find them online.
Wilwood are suppose to be great. Jay Leno uses them on all his cars. I don't think he would if they sucked
@@zachsmith1731 yep, willwood brakes are great, they're basically the American equivalent to brembo at this point. I have no idea how anybody can be weary about them.
Who are you working for these days, Craig? Love watching your channel, this your full time gig now? I am a big car guy myself and I love hearing car stories from people over the years.
I run my own digital marketing company. Web, SEO, PPC, paid social, etc.
@@craiglieberman that's awesome being able to work for yourself! Keep the videos coming! I love watching them!
Craig really is the OG Brian O'Connor
It’s not chicken wire. It’s called ‘Ricer mesh.’
Fuck, I had ricer mesh in the grill of my first ST-204 Celica back in the late 90s. Whatever, I was like 20yo.
Right but I think Craig said on this car they used chicken wire because they didn't have enough ricer mesh.
mr lieberman, you are a person at the age of 31 i still look up to you for tast in cars, build your car the way you see fit, it seems like you know your cars best, and know how to pick them, toyota supra for the win
Please a bit less cockiness, it’s hard to watch at times. The tension is noticeable, just have fun enjoy the process it will be a great result and things will fall together as they should. It’s hard to be on the same page before actually getting crackin
Right? I noticed that too. No idea why act like that.
Well the guy doesn’t want to to do what Craig is telling him and Craig wants to do things the way he would have done it originally done it so I would be a little upset if someone told me how to build my car instead of me telling them how to build my car so the tension is just because the shop owner will not listen. Have a good day 😁.
@@uzqf2107 aren’t we all a bit of control freaks :p
@@cal.or7 We'll if I'm spending serious money and tons of man hours are going into this project, yeah, I would be a bit controlling too. Craig wants to build 'A' but then you got Mr. Clean over here trying to build 'B'.

OMG I have the exact Bi-Plane wing made by APR with the longer plates! We bought it in 2007 for a movie I was working on but was not used!!
You should consider WRK brakes company from Poland. They can make custom brake calipers for you and I think the would be way cheaper than AP.
If youre considering resale. Dont put a pos nissan cd trans. Put a real tran v16x or t56
The cd009 is a great trans and new they are only 2k

They open up the hood, Craig: My disappointment is unmeasurable and now my day is ruined.
Great vids, cant wait to see how this supra comes to life!
I'd be so much more interested if they recreated Craig's Supra as it sat in the actual magazines....
Rebuilding popular old magazine cars would actually be awesome. Many of those cars were on kids walls throughout the 90s and 2000s.

You either are building a replica car or not.
If your building a replica then you paint the bay black. Period.

Gezzz old mate with the bald head needs to take a breath and shut up, build it as close as you can to the movie car, black Bay and yellow bits for the win!!!!!!
I wanna see Dom’s Charger but actually with that huge Hemi in it
I'm sure Craig said in one of his vids that the charger used for the crash after the supra drag race, was restored, and actually has one of the proper engines in now.
Craig are Yal going to do a eclipse build or a skyline tribute to Paul walker?
Never say never, but I don't think so. This one made sense given my connection to the original car.
@@craiglieberman forgive my ignorance, but then wouldn’t a Skyline tribute make sense then because they used your R34 in the same way they used your Supra?
@@ctrlcf the prices r34´s are going for, its really difficult as he stated, and they are considered collector cars now, supra 1jz and automatic models clapped out like this one still are kinda viable in terms of prices, and so make them more "doable"
they could go gtt,gts-t route tho, but it would be real hard for it to be a gtr
AMEN to the corvette statement!
This will be awesome series!
My heart hurts everytime I hear them say " M K 4" 😔
Yup. Its Mark 4!
Sorry Craig, to be truly screen accurate it has to be half destroyed and come in on a tow truck. Haha good luck on this build!
Craig said it started as a white supra then yellow then orange so does it need to start as a white car or the red one that is smashed up on the trailer? Sounds like it will end up another tribute car with an orange engine bay. They should build a replica of the smashed one on the trailer.
Uh-sure. Making a replica out of a salvage title car. No thanks.
@@craiglieberman just messing with ya! Hope it goes good if there is one guy who can nail a replica it will be you! 👍
I thought they used a VIS Racing Carbon TRD-style Hood for the Supra.
Where is Jesse with the computer designing it?

Hi Craig, question, I always wanted to know where the wrecked Supra had come from in the first F&F when Paul Walker first arrived with it on the flat bed at the shop. Would love know please.
Probably a junkyard.
@@WR0 I want to know where it REALLY came from outside of the movie, not part of the storyline, but thanks for your idea.

I wonder how many young Fast fans even know what a floppy even is 🤣I remember my collection of floppy drives and CDs
@@VernonDraws exactly 😆 my friends and i used to exchange porn on floppy disks 🤣
my 2 cents are, if you are going to build a replica movie car it should be screen exact. exact paint, decal (if any), wheels (maybe tires), and if and only if it is shown/mentioned, engine to spec. anything internally i think is fair game. for example doms charger, the actual car did not have a blower but they did use a blown engine for looks. so technically doms replica wouldnt be blown but since they showed it with a blower the replica should have it. in the case of the supra other than the parts laid out on the floor they never specified anything other than that it was a 2J so any upgrades to the engine would be fine. back to paint, has to have yellow roll cage, blue inserts on doors. they did show "his supra" during body work/primer so they would have painted the engine bay to match, so id say engine bay needs to be color matched.
TLDR.
is the supra is going to be for show or can you guys put on the track so we can see what its capable of ? or are we just gona keep looking at it as paper wight ? almost 900 whp but 2st ger pull doest show anything guys? lets get it side ways like the movie
craig should build his car the way he sees fit man? its his car, but i love a simple car, makes things more easy on the eyes n clean :)
Hahaha “BPU”…now THERES something I haven’t heard in about 20 years!
Paint the engine bay orange..... Guess you just threw out making a replica of the original car. Tribute car it is now I just lost interest.
