Karibu Kenya!🫶💕 We Kenyans really take our roads for granted and just complain.😂 Until we see and hear a foreigner's perspective then we appreciate.
You have a beautiful country 😊, it may not be perfect but its doing good
Thank you for giving Kenya so much praise. We are not so kind to Kenya National Highways Authority (KENHA). Kenyans criticize them all the time for design flaws. When I first arrived in Kenya in 2012, from the US where I had lived for 30 years, they had just finished building this Thika Super Highway. I thought the Road was shoddy because exits were not marked. In the US exits are marked 2 miles before the exit and then immediately at the exit. We also have white speed limits and yellow speed limits for commercial vehicles. Secondly we have a shoulder incase you break down as well as Rest Areas along the Highway. Kenyan Highways fall far short of these features and instead KENHA has some very interesting African ideas such as speed bumps without warning ⚠️. Exits now have advanced warnings before you reach the exit, however this is not standardized. Most of the time you only have one exit marking . Rest Areas with clean lavatories do not exist in Kenya 🇰🇪 especially where trucks can safely stop for commercial drivers to take breaks. Instead we have Chaotic hole in the walls like Mulolongo, Salga, Mariakani, Busia and many others. It is extremely important to have safe rest areas for all road users and especially for commercial vehicles which haul goods worth millions. Long Distance Buses also need these facilities. God forbid, if you are a lady and need to use the bathroom on a long distance trip on a Kenyan Highway. We cannot reach the level of South Africa unless we pay attention to improving these amenities on our roads. Simply tarmacking a road with 12 lanes is not enough. Lane definition is also not emphasized on many roads in Kenya. All it takes is a paint brush and some white paint to clearly define the lane. There is plenty of room for improvement for KENHA. Kenyans please continue to criticize them on social media , and sue them in court whenever they blunder and give us substandard roads. Do Not Accept 3rd World Roads with design flaws. This is your Tax Money at work. They are not doing us any favors. We demand world class roads in Kenya from KENHA. Thank you for your video.
Thank you for this elaborated review 🙏 I need to take notes next time am using it so I have a clear picture, thanks for watching and supporting
Unfortunately having lived in Us of America for 30 years, You see things very different. And below par. Compared to many african countries, Kenyan roads are so advanced. I once DROVE upcountry with a chinese friend who had been to whole of african countries and admitted that our roads are miles ahead.
@@Wekesa001 Do you want to be the Best in East Africa, or do you want to be the best in the world? I have given you suggestions on how to improve Kenyan Roads with amenities that would make them comparable to Expressways in the U.S or in Europe. Asking KENHA to set up a Break Down Lane (also known as a shoulder) can save lives. How many accidents have we had in Kenya where vehicles collide with broken down trucks, simply because there is no shoulder? Asking KENHA to clearly mark exists and provide ample warning of an exit prior to reaching the exit improves safety on our roads. Lane definition is equally important for road safety. Adding Commercial Vehicle Speed Limits especially on sharp curves improves road safety. Not to long ago did a truck lose its air brakes , and kill dozens at a market in the Rift Valley. This would have been avoided if KENHA had in place a mandatory air brake test zone for commercial trucks prior to a long or steep decent. In case a commercial vehicle looses its air brakes , their needs to be an escape ramp filled with sand to slow down an out of control commercial vehicle. These amenities save lives. How much does that cost? These are not expensive amenities. Finally is it too much to ask that KENHA build Safe Rest Areas with Clean Lavatories for Road Users? Isn't that what a civilized country does? Unless we are OK with open defecation, these are not the standards of a progressive country. Kenya cannot compare its self with South Sudan!! That is irrational. In 1978 Kenya was at per with Malaysia in terms of GDP, today we are a tenth of the Malaysian Economy. How did we fall so far behind? We must up our standards and demand more from our Government. Simply tarmacking a road is not development, let us improve on the quality of our roads. It makes Kenya a better country.
Glad you are enjoying Kenya. I wish the same could be replicated in Uganda. I visited your country late last year, took me close to 5 hours from Mukono to Kampala. More effort needs to be put in keeping Sevo into account.
This comment is in bad taste ... Especially to someone heaping praise on you . Kuwa mpole
God willing some day but roads are getting better

On crossing the roads you are supposed to use zebra crossings and foot bridges.
Not everywhere has those facilities and some that have zebra crossing they are not respected

Nairobi is fast pace. Everyone is on the run. Though visitors wonder to where
Very fast ,no time to waste
Yes, you wonder. In a country with the craziest unemployment in the region. Rushing to nowhere. A politician stops there and all those people will stop
@@user-po8ym5cp6t As well agreed by yourself, they are always on a rush but can't be to nowhere. As for politicians, if they make an appearance for whatever reason, they will stop hoping to get the same same money as handouts. Not just kenya, it is all over the world.
Are you not embarrassed to think and or say that every country in the is world is brought to a standstill by politicians? There are so many woke countries where politicians don't call the shots. Not every country is a nondescript third world country full of citizens meeting politicians with begging bowls like we have in Kenya
@@user-po8ym5cp6t Atleast you appreciate that "Nondescript third world countries" are full of citizens who meet politicians with begging bowls just like Kenya. Even the owner of this channel will confirm that in Uganda, if an MP, President makes an appearance, multitudes will gather. I have personally been to Ghana, Nigeria, Tz, Cameroun, Ivory coast, S. Africa and people gather to cheer presence of a politician anywhere. U may feel that it as uncouth that it happens in kenya until U travel. Just google Trump at the court or buying ice cream and U'll get an idea of what I mean. Thanks for the engagement

I feel safe around Ugandans. Uganda is a friendly state to Kenya unlike our neighbour to the south

@@eddyrandu3127 it started way before, I was schooling then and that was my way always
Fun facts about 047(Nairobi): Before covid period, people visiting CBD was like +2Million people daily . Upto recent is when Kenyans started obeying traffic laws ...Ask drivers they will give you funny stories of them on the roads 😅😅
This would be so good to hear from the drivers surely
You are sooo cute
Ohhh thank you 😊
Here in uganda we have leaders who do not admire nice things.
Just imagine the potholes in kampala and the leader think that its ok
They need to do better
Lovely,go to Mombasa beaches. How can one support you?
Thanks for the support, you can check the description box for my contact 😀
Your Kenyan bracelet is inverted.... black should be on top and green down😊
Ohhh really ,haven't removed this for years let me ,fix it thanks
Still Nairobi is better than Kampala because Kampala got more boda bodas
Hows kenya taking you compared to kampala i heard in ug you pay tax for internet use
We also pay taxes for internet
Kenya is very amazing ,loving it here ,we pay some percentage
Why are you recording short videos?
Hard getting content with a phone ,but longer ones are coming
Lol these foreigners are really in New york when they in Nairobi 😅
Beautiful place 😍
I teach some Ugandan kids in Nairobi, when I ask them if they miss their homeland, their response says it all😂
😅🤣🤣tell me more place
Baby gal struggled to navigate nairobi down town at midday?,wait until its 6:52pm n see a real mess
I don't do so well around alot people 🤣 but I enjoyed the evenings coz of smokies mostly
Your sound is lost
This is not new york
and remember its uganda railway in 1898 that brought kenya to existence...take credit for that sometimes, ugandans
Lol it was the port of Mombasa, you might as well give the colonisers credit for carving us all into some hitherto non existent countries! 😂😂😂
Uganda Railway? Built by Ugandans?
you dont get my point, bro@@samuelwainaina1155
Exactly. Kenya came into existence as a country because of the Uganda railway. Glad you know it. Ug and Ke are closest sister countries
@@samuelwainaina1155 as if that railway would be of any use without the port
See how beautiful Ugandans are..Natural..no make up..Can I marry U 🇰🇪 😁😁😁
