There's also a 40 shillings coin although very rare.
Majority of kenyans went cashless and this even made the money printing company De la Rue to close down business in kenya.Thats how serious the paperless policy is
Ohhh wow I didn't know those facts am surprised but I like this system that was put in place
welcome to Kenya no matter the small differences we have, we are one people
Thanks for sharing this great information dear..Uganda's economy really needs improvement
To me Uganda is the greatest,we eat and eat over there than any country,God bless Ug!
I'm a kenyan , very happy to find this currency review, its been a while since i handled cash ,we have really gone cashless. More love Uganda❤🇰🇪
I pray our Economy should grow, that will let highest currency to be just 100/=
Very calm voice...i can listen to u even if u were saying nothing....
Great review, feel at home... Kenya is a cashless economy.Ugadan ladies will kill me ooh 😂❤❤❤,one love ❤❤
There is another reason why i prefer Mpesa, its the durability of these notes. Somehow they are very weak and if mistakenly get washed with your laundry, it won't survive.
I agree with you mpesa is the way to go honestly 👏, thank you for watching and supporting
rare coins in kenya (that still work), if you are a collector: pentagon shaped 5 shilling coin, 40 shilling coin with president kibaki and nowadays coins with president moi are very rare. they are phasing them out. there are still many with jomo kenyatta but every coin with a human face on it are being phased out and replaced with those animals you see on coins now
I didn't get to see most coins coz it's hard getting your hands on them ,the cashless system is in full force
If you use till number on supermarkets or anywhere you are not charged any amount, if you are paying bills or sending to someone money is to the when you will be charged per Mpesa tariffs
Exchange rate is 1ksh to 27ugsh. It used to be 1 to 30. Later moved to 1 to 24 around January 2024. But has now stabilised at 1 to 27 since Feb 2024
@@TheTororist looks like it will drop to 110 per usd. Meaning it may exhange at 1ksh tu 34ugsh
I use mpesa to do everything, including offering, credit card etc.
I love that method so much ,hope it gets popular as it is there in Kenya back in uganda 🇺🇬
I am a student in one of the campuses in Kenya and i don't remember the last time i had cash . It's near to impossible to use cash here. Anyway great content 💯.
It's so nice to see that a policy is put in place and it works ,literally every payment is done by mpesa, thanks for watching
I was there 9 months ago and l bought ribena blackcurrant fruit drink at 50 shillings
L we should get east African currency to get even stronger ❤❤❤ as one community...
Hi I am Kenyan like your channel. Money matters are explained in economic terms. The true value of money is determined by the much you can access in your country and how much will be used to buy a basket of similar goods in each country. Say how much does the same size of bread cost in each country and compared using a hard currency like the dollar. Well done though. Ugandans are our beloved neighbors.
Coin ya 40 hauna?
Ugandan women look humble. As a Kenyan I must get myself a Ugandan wife. And please don't compare your country with ours, we are one.
when are you crossing the border can accompany you i bless myself with one buganda queen 🤣🤣
Kenya changed its currency in 2019 thus all the notes where issued in that year
In Kenya we rarely carry cash money. We use mobile money most of the time
Wow 😮 I we don't even 5
shilling coin and I haven't seen a 50 shilling coin in a very long time
Hi Jules, i am a Kenya based in Nairobi, we can meet and take you around my beautiful country. I can as well take you to Mombasa for more magical experience
walahi wakenya mbona mwaona wifu wakati ninatry my Lucky no. hahaha@@Jacky-ww6yp

I looked for that coin and failed ,thanks for supporting ,hope you stay

1000 ksh =29,153,55 Ugandan shillings. So it's almost 30,000 ugs if you estimate. So stop the cap
It depends on the exchange rate at that time,so the rate I used was what I got at the time
Your first mistake is overstaying your president. Change and elect leaders who can transform
Gm I am watching and enjoying your content very much its very Educational ,and I am watching you from ST.THOMAS US Virgin Island
I would like to know $100usd what is it in 🇰🇪 Kenya money😊
Am glad your learning something from my content makes me so happy 😊, it could be around 14000ksh
Goodevening I am watching and enjoying your content very Educational its important to learn 😊
7:00 even Rwanda is cashless
No African country can come close to kenyas cashless economy you can do anything and everything since and it was the first country in the world to use mobile banking and western countries travelled to Kenya to study the system and later went back and introduced them in their countries eg WeChat, allypay etc
Welcome to Kenya our beautiful Ugandan sister 😘🤗 And don’t worry coz once they launch the common EAC currency, the exchange rate will be same in all countries I guess so 😏
We are one, no matter the different names we were given by colonialists.❤
UG should be performing much better with the many endowed resources. I hope one day their leders will wake up
40 shilling coin that has Kibaki
that coin with jomo kenyatta is old generation the new generation has animals
like me I don't remember the last time I carried more than 1000 bob cash because I dont need to risk carrying cash around just bus fare is enough other things M-PESA is one button away@@tinajules110
Am planning to visit ur country MAY or JUNE I don't know if I will manage since you guys like cash@@tinajules110
notes help with tax avoidance which would have gone to the corrupt leaders anyways. Also, glad you are doin something different from cleaning videos
whats a fifty shilling coin. also nice hair also kids go out amd play in india too
You are not charged to pay. You are only charged to send money to someone above ksh 100
@@tinajules110 yes, there is a difference between send money and lipa na mpesa. When you want to pay for something you use lipa na mpesa
@hk254lyt8 I haven't gotten the hang of those honestly but I will with time
Let me laugh...the first time I have heard a lady comparing Kenya and Uganda currencies is clear low language understandable language.
But she's creating content for her followers also informing Ugandans who have no clue about exchange rates, learning is everyday let her be.
Guys sorry I said fifty shilling coin I meant to say five shilling coin 🪙
1 ksh doesn't work
@@SamuelMoko-wz1yd it works in towns, unless you live in the village
Uniformed ,50cent is the one not working but in large quantities you can sell em at the bank. @@SamuelMoko-wz1yd
It's okay ❤❤❤
