The algorithm has found you. And I’m glad it did. I just bought my first fishing boat . No where close to a fisherman but my kid loves it so I will learn along with her . And I’m watching as much as I can to be as efficient as possible. . But the humor on this boat is great . Memories is what you will have and what I’m looking forward to.
Thanks for posting. I know I give you a hard time when you go on your small boat without being tethered but your videos remind me of when I was on the list of crew and did 3 to 4 canyon trips a year. Great daytime chunking!! and not in bad conditions. Thanks for sharing!
Hey man, love ur videos. This is my first year offshore fishing and I’m hooked! Nothing more I’d rather do. Learning a lot from you and ur crew. Appreciate all the info while filming. Curious as to what you do for work. Keep em coming.
Looking back in my phone videos from last year(2023), Oct 5 at 1:00 am we were in the Hudson and absolutely racked 70lb-90lb yellows on the night chunk. We limited out (4 man limit) in an hour. You and i were out there at the same time, just 30-40 miles away. I think those epic night chunks from the 90s still exist, just rarer to come by. Fish were so hungry that we started tying direct to Mono, with no floro leader. Great video bud! See you out there when this weather passes.
@@reaperfishingnj8623 I’m sure it is. Would you say it’s accurate that your yearly cost is about 10% of the cost of the vessel? How much fuel do you usually burn on a trip like that?
Jaws!! It's a marlin or a stingray but it's definitely a game fish. Ooooooph!!! Gamin fish hey Marlin stingray bit through this piano wire don't you tell me my business again now get back on the bridge. Awesome video!
Movie was jaws, hooper was saying it as was grabbing the leader. Played by Richard dyrfuss. Another great line around that part of movie was quint who is clearly you Chris incarnate, “now a days these kids take out everything, radar, sonar, electric tooth brush” You know your audience will get that reference. I’m still looking for a case of that beer you had that Narraganset bay I think it is that quint drank
You nailed it!! I sure do fancy the old school just light Quint!!! The beer is Narraganset Lager. It's delicious. And it goes unreal with crabs and lobster!!!
@@reaperfishingnj8623 gotta love jaws. I miss shark fishing the 28 mile wreck so damn much. Pops and Grandfather used to take me when I was a kid. They would Tell me stories of taking the real life quint, Frank mundus, who would charter wmy pops and gpops to go shark fishing at the 28mile. Fishing out of ocean city or Farley when he would come down from montuak. I got some amazing old pictures of massive makos and threshers from the 80s they killed everything back then lol
awesome vid captain ! Just curious , why not have a deep drop sword bait overnight while tuna chunkin? Isnt overnight ideal for swords? i saw you fished the bait on the bottom, how deep do you usually drop with those electric reels? btw , it must be nice to have a zack on board lol. he was clutch in bringing in that fish . thanks
we don't use the deep drop sword setup at night. just a regular 50 wide with the shorter leader. usually 1-2 baits at staggered depths depending on the moon phase. the deep drop stuff is for when we are dropping in 1200-1600 ft of water and fishing in the bottom of the water column. They feed deep during the day and come up high at night
Do you fish standup with the 80s. I am on a 42’ sportfish with a rocket launcher and wanted to get some 80s. Do you guys standup and if so do you think they are really heavy, big, and clunky. Please lmk. Thanks!
To be honest we haven't had the chance to really use the 80s a bunch. Just got them last season. We did standup fight two bigeyes last year and the guys did great. The setups we bought were from guys that used the 80s and the custom rods to stand up fish giant bluefin in North Carolina so I'm confident we can do both if needed. Last fall we fought some pretty decent sized bluefin in rough seas from the swivel rod holder with the rod/adjusta butt in the bent butt position. I found that to be awesome and i love the ability to do both if need be or you wanna fight em standup
yes sir. better late than never. I have a full time job and i travel a bunch in the winter. When we were filming this i was fishing, working, fishing, working. These videos take time to edit. I try my best. This video is very applicable to what we will hopefully see this season if we can ever get back out
If you don't wanna back stroke home you get down here! Game fish eh? Marlin, sting ray.. Bit through this piano wire. Don't you tell me my business again. Get back on the bridge.
What a great down to earth,no bullshit,no ego honest fishing video.
Keep up the good work..

Yes indeed and 90s was the time there was nothing like the 4 AM feeding frenzy it was like somebody turned the switch

What are those rod and reel set ups used for chunking?
The one caught with bluefin in beginning of video.

series of cut and edited videos, no fun
it is all edited from one 24 hour plus overnight trip out of atlantic city new jersey. The fishing spans two half days and a night bite
