*Bismillah, Rahman, Raheem. Assalam u Alaikum.*
*Welcome! Today, I’m sharing a simple and delicious fried mince (keema) recipe.*
Ingredients:
- 8 tbsp oil
- 1 medium-sized onion, chopped
- 1 tbsp garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger, minced
- 500g beef mince
- 1 tsp salt (or to taste)
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp celery seeds
- 2 large tomatoes, chopped
- 1/2 cup curd
- 1 piece of fresh ginger, chopped
- Juice of 1 lemon
Instructions:
1. *Prepare the Pan:*
- Heat 8 tablespoons of oil in a pan over medium flame.
2. *Fry the Onions:*
- Add the chopped onion to the pan.
- Fry until the onions turn light brown (approximately 3-4 minutes).
3. *Add Garlic and Ginger:*
- Add 1 tablespoon each of minced garlic and ginger to the pan.
- Fry for a few minutes until the raw smell disappears.
4. *Cook the Mince:*
- Add 500 grams of beef mince to the pan.
- Cook on medium flame, stirring occasionally.
- Add 1 teaspoon of salt (adjust to taste).

5. *Cover and Steam:*
- Cover the pan and let the mince cook in its steam for about 4-5 minutes.
- After 4-5 minutes, remove the cover and stir.
6. *Add Spices:*
- Add 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon of red chilli powder, 1 teaspoon of cumin powder, 1 teaspoon of coriander powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of celery seeds.
- Fry the spices with the mince for 2-3 minutes to remove the raw taste of the turmeric.
7. *Add Tomatoes:*
- Add 2 large chopped tomatoes to the pan.
- If needed, add a small amount of water (about 1 tablespoon) to help soften the tomatoes.
- Cover the pan and cook for another 4-5 minutes until the tomatoes are soft.
8. *Incorporate Curd:*
- Add 1/2 cup of curd to the pan.
- Fry the mince mixture until the water from the curd evaporates and the mince becomes creamy (approximately 2-3 minutes).
9. *Final Touches:*
- Add a small piece of chopped fresh ginger.
- Squeeze the juice of 1 lemon over the mince.
- Stir well to combine.
Serve:
- Your delicious fried mince (keema) is now ready to serve. Enjoy it hot with your favorite bread or rice.
