Or having a mom who is mature enough to not get in a fight with your dad because he wants to take three kids home (Me, my half-sister, and the son of a family friend) because they’re tired and want to go home instead of you going a long distance back because you forgot the presents for the daughter you back then had custody of because it was Christmas Eve and I was excited to spend a Christmas with my sister and wait for someone to pick you up because you’re a bad mom and take my sister with you and you barely even fought to keep me in court and I don’t want to text you and I am glad my sister lives with her dad now, and I don’t consider you my mom, but I still only dislike you because you and my dad were young and you lost my big sister as a baby before I was born and she would only be about maybe a year and half older than me and you’re probably still not completely over her death and who could blame you. Not that this is normal, just a really specific example of what I wouldn’t give my characters as backstory… Totally not something that happened to me that I am still sad about…

Gorgug's parents are like the nicest type of people. Just how they took in a child that they knew would be so different from them, and yet they have always loved him from day one and forever. They always tried to understand his temperament and problems, they are super caring and supportive, they are emotionally avaliable, and super cute!! Love them!!
Gnomes and Halflings are known to be some of the most light hearted people. Especially halflings in d&d lore, they like to have nice houses and food simply to share that with their friends and family. Its super cute, plus they value freedom a lot. Super pure race.

I like that it's very obvious that they're highly caring, loving, and involved parents and do their best to understand their son, and despite all that aren't really able to equip Gorgug with an appropriate way to handle his anger in a way that fits for him. Sometimes family problems aren't anyone's fault, has no "bad guys", everyone is trying their best. There's just a compatibility issue, two very different kinds of people. They remind me a lot of my own parents.

UM ACTUALLY....Adaine's counter wasn't really that spot on. While Bizz is totally a caricature, he *did* have "a lot to offer" in terms of helping with this dangerous task in spite of her...spite.
Would have been more of a Nice Guy TM move to kick them all out on their asses after that exchange.
I also only bring this up because I know that was Siobhan talking and not Adaine, since a 14 year old freshman girl with distant parents and a mean sister wouldn't be *that* experienced or well versed in this kind of culture.
LeetMasterAce that’s a pretty good point actually, a high school freshman wouldn’t probably have the confidence to go after someone like that. Though I would want to say that he indeed had a lot to offer when it came to the mission, the remark was directed at his attitude towards johnny spells and him always getting the girls. He seemed a bit bitter about “nice guys” like him never being liked, and Adaine/Siobhan reacted by saying that he’s not actually actively approaching girls or doing anything to polish his personality. So his worth to the mission wasn’t really relevant to this specific conversation. But I agree that it was definitely more Siobhan talking, but that’s part of what makes this show so great! It wouldn’t be half as fun if they only included authentic freshman thoughts!

I love that Bud Cubby's anti-policing sentiment is a perfect explanation for why the Cubby family still went to get ice cream in their car after a motorcycle ran into it. None of them were hurt, so they probably figured that there was no reason to call an emergency line or anything, and continued on their way.

She is just so ready to make sure that he is treated right and it’s so nice to see after my mans has been bullied all series

@@mothma_am it's all about having the right DM. Brennan is what makes this flow so incredibly well. It's a lot of prep work, but he's ready for just about anything they've thrown at him. If nothing else, you need to find someone who obeys "The Rule of Cool". FIg: "Can I like, cast friend on my flask so that when someone drinks from it, they get the effects of friend?" Brennan: "That's absolutely not how that spell works, but I'll allow it." < this was a perfect example of the rule of cool.

The whole point of Fig is she is NOT a regular badass trouble maker. She was a « « perfect » » little girl, until the horns grew. I think it pretty obvious that Emily is trying to show that Fig, despite trying her best to look and appear a trouble maker, it’s hard for her.

Yeah... As someone with severe anxiety, I could never. She just has very strong boundaries in certain situations, I guess. Could be a trauma response of some sort. The hostility. That would make sense to me, if that were the case. Idk. Or it could have been the actors personal boundary/ feelings in how she would *want* to call out the behaviour IRL and tell the person verbally they are making her uncomfortable and so feels confident enough to do so in a roleplay setting. My flight response would just kick in and I'd try to get out of the situation ASAP rather than cause conflict. But other people have the fight response. It's all valid and "normal", technically.
Seemed like she had a real life trauma from guys trying and failing to be smooth.

Out of all the sound editing, I think I may appreciate the subtle foley work the most - like the sound of Gorgug's drumsticks sliding together as he puts them in his pocket (22:42) or when he fiddles with his combination lock shortly afterwards (25:20). That kind of thing really adds to the immersion, to the player's acting, without making it obvious that A Cool Effect has been added.

This is better though. I mean the budget of this show is probably higher, and with all the other sketches done - the cast here are all incredible actors, and Brandon is an incredible GM. Plus the writing, the board, the video production quality is so much better here.

I love each character in this, but if I had to pick favorites, probably Gorgug and Kristen. Gorgug is just hilarious with how he’s extremely awkward but also just a fuckin beast with how powerful he is during combat. And Kristen’s character is great because she’s a cleric but is also questioning her patron so she’s just having this dilemma of like “praise the lord” but also “oof maybe that’s baaAAaAd???”
Same, but Fig is a close 3rd tho!
I also love Gorgug, but Kristen's arc seems kind of forced in a D&D world where GOOD and EVIL are clearly defined which answers the "Why is there so much suffering in the world" question without issue.
LeetMasterAce the way I see it, if you believe your god is all powerful, and just by worshiping him, you can do incredible things and of which she has, I think I would ask myself “if I can do this, then why doesn’t my god, who is much more powerful than me, just help the entire world himself ?” Or “when Kristen asks why is there suffering, Heleo doesn’t just answer “well, evil always exists and we have to deal with that” instead he just completely dodged the question giving the impression that he doesn’t care about those who suffer. I would certainly question my faith as a cleric if that happened, and the fact that Heleo is trying to get her back also is pretty damn funny. But I can see from your point of view how that would not make sense.
Riz is for sure my favorite. He's a beast with his pistol and a great detective, but pukes whenever he finds a new lead. Also, he's the FUCKING BALL, MAN.

Again as the DM would know lore like that, especially brenan so it was completely his choice to say "oh it''s the night king that's responsible for the evil" or something but instead chose to say "catch ya later". It feels pretty forced.

All in all I'm just saying it looks like forced propaganda especially since they try to include it like every 10 seconds.

Is just- these guys are anarcho-socialist halfling chaotic goods that warm my heart, but also strike fear into it. I love them more than life itself and if anything happens to them I am wagering war on Brennan specifically.
