I think the later 3ds games not selling well is really gonna make Nintendo wait to release everything they want on the Switch before announcing the next console. It’s funny to me that they really thought Switch and 3ds could coexist, it’s like when they thought the Gameboy and the DS would coexist instead of the DS being a replacement.
Omg this gives me nostalgia. Your Luigi’s Mansion video from years ago was one of the first Luigi’s videos I watched on here lol. Please never delete it!
Much like Dark Moon, I want more than anything for this thing to be ported over to Switch. I love the original game as much as anyone else, but I had given up on the 3DS by the time this came out. I still think it holds a lot of nostalgic value, but just the tiniest touch up with some nice new facial animations replicating those of Dark Moon/LM3 on the Switch would’ve probably made the biggest difference.
I actually think that Luigi's Mansion works better on the Nintendo 3DS because of the 2 screens and the 3D effect but i still hope that they'll make a Nintendo Switch version of the game too so all the 3 games are playable on the Nintendo Switch.
To add to it, the Switch was already past its first year by the time the Luigi's Mansion remake was released on the 3DS. By that point, the Switch was a proven commercial hit that everyone was releasing games for. To release a 3DS game during that timeframe when everyone else already moved onto the Switch was nothing short of pushing a game out to die. Dark Moon remake can still do well because unlike the remake of the first game, there is not yet any successor to the Switch by the time it'll come out meaning that the game won't suffer from the newer shinier platform cannibalizing it
I mean, i was super ecstatic when this was announced, honestly my only complaint with it is that it's on the 3DS, when the switch was already out, with more gamecube games coming to the switch though i'm kind of hopeful of an actual re-release, but maybe to a fault. Also and another feature scrapped from the original game that was in the remake, was.. well.. the 3D, so i guess that's kind of neat, and maybe a reason as to why the remake was on 3DS specifically.
I think this game being on 3DS was a good call. The 3D was a once in lifetime opportunity here and it looks fantastic! Furthermore, the bottom screen maintaining all of your information is very neat too!
Even if it came out during the beginning of the 3DS' life span I doubt I would have picked it up. Whereas the N64 Zelda remakes were (especially graphically) a big step up from the originals, this looked like nothing more than a portable version of the same game which probably controls a lot worse too.
In my opinion, I've been dreaming for Nintendo to release a 3ds remake of the original game, until it finally came, I was excited, especially since the original game was originally going to be 3D, and it seems like they took that opportunity to the 3DS
This video reminds me of how I felt about WarioWare Gold. While I never had played it, I heard that it was indeed a good game, but again, knowing that the Switch was already out and about, it felt disappointing to know that a new WarioWare game was on the 3DS.
Honestly I’m really upset this was the case. As someone who has never owned a GameCube or a copy of Luigi’s Mansion (i’m a 2006 kid) the 3DS remake was my first step into the game, and I loved the whole thing tbh (despite its flaws obviously) I can understand the poor choice of launch for the remake, but the 3DS still has charm,,,
Don't get me wrong, if someone never got to play the original, this is definitely a good thing to be able to experience it. (As well as some 3DS extras.) It's just unfortunate that the experience is altered, and maybe a little clunky on the controls.
I was incredibly disappointed when this remake came out. Not because I wanted a new game or anything, but because I knew it would likely flop. The original Luigis Mansion is a top 3 of all time for me, and neither of the other two matched it. Now that they’ve made a remake, I fear that we won’t see it ported to the switch. I want to play an hd remake of the original so bad I can’t even tell you.
Porting any Gamecube game to the DS makes zero sense to me. Graphically, they had pretty much identical capabilities, with the 3DS honestly a little worse with its screen resolution. Other times they've done similar things had good justifications - all the SNES games ported to the GBA worked because they were recentish games people might want as a handheld experience, and Mario 64 DS added a significant amount of content and at least a minor graphical improvement - but this one just confuses me. Nobody was asking for a handheld version of a game from 16 years ago, especially when the newer home console also had handheld capabilities.
I still have no clue why they didn’t just wait to release this game and the switch so that neither one of the things was as underbaked as it is now Edit: is dark moon movement a thing? Because all the buttons but vacuum are different in all forms
I put this port down about halfway through just because the controls. I got used to them, but they weren't nearly as satisfying as the original due to the lesser sticks. I also don't think it looks as good, but that's not a deal breaker or anything.
It saddens me that the female had to come out on the 3ds, as at that point the switch would be the best place to play it, but oh well thank god for lm3
Yeah I was alright with the port, just that of course the original felt better to play. I'm curious what they could do with LM4. Also I think you might have gotten autocorrected?

As a big fan of the original Gamecube version I completely forgot this remake existed lol.

Hey thank you! Actually a lot of my old stuff is still available. Check under my Playlists, you should see "OfficialGlitchDoctor Archive".

Really liked the skits here. Short and simple and to the point.
Thanks! I think somewhat similar channels have influenced me lmfao.

Maybe there is still potential for GameCube online for the Nintendo Switch?
it should've been cross-gen tbh

Nintendo could have easily spent another year making sure it would work on the switch.
The first and only time I've seen anyone IRL play this remake was at SGDQ lol

I’m absolutely shocked you still upload content. I watched your Luigi’s Mansion beta video literally when it came out, that’s nuts dude
Haha thank you! Been trying to get another video out recently, but life has been getting in the way of that unfortunately. Soon though. 👍

It’s a crime they didn’t bother releasing it for the switch

I really hope they port the remake to Switch, It would of sold so much better than on the 3DS.

Is it just me, or does Luigi look... Stiff in the 3DS one?
I took it upon my hands. I just emulated Luigi’s mansion on my Wii U because if Nintendo doesn’t want to make it easier for me I will
I still have no clue why they didn’t just wait to release this game and the switch so that neither one of the things was as underbaked as it is now

A moment of silence for your circle pad…
Yeah that was weird. Never experienced anything like that before. It started like disintegrating the more I touched it. O_o
Cool Video Bro.
Screw what we thought about late 3ds games in 2018 and Say when will the switch die in 2023
0:14 not me

I think I meant to say remake instead of female oopsies
Because they sold it at full price. You know, for a 15+ year old game.
Good video
The controls are so bad on 3ds. I still just play the original.
