My Clio died many years ago, but watching this makes me want another one. The smiles on your faces took me back to whizzing around country lanes with my K&N sucking the world into the engine..THAT sound
So pleased to see another addition to this series pop up in my notifications. Love that sound! Really throaty metallic racket - addictive I bet.
Everywhere now has to be driven at wide open throttle!
I’ve got one of these in my 182, best money I ever spent
Matthew Fletcher yea we are pleasantly surprised how good it sounds for the cost. Should have been one of the first things we did looking back.
Might come up snetterton take a look as I am local. Is it Saturday 3rd you are there?.. This series is great for idea on my budget 172 track car
We will be at Snet on Sunday 4th, weather permitting!
I’ve had a few ktec induction kits on my past clios and my god they sound awesome on full chat
It really does sound so good! compliments the cars character perfectly
Guys That Drive you’ll get addicted to the noise 😂
I recommend either cooksport or eibach springs, cup shocks are good enough if you're on a budget, also a Clio 182 manifold is a well worthy upgrade!.
Great series so far guys! 👍👍
Ps: get some toothpaste on those headlights and see how well they clean up 👍
old larry Thanks buddy. We were thinking eibach or cooksport currently. Track rubber next though
More please. Thinking about buying one as I got a really cheap insurance quote
I've missed the videos guys! Glad you're all still alive. 🤣
Cheer mate - we're here, and several big ones line up over the next three weeks. Things got busy but we're BACK and on it like Sonic. Appreciate the love man
Get a set of subframes of Jon fozz of CSOC for the bucket seats fit well and are really low level most other brackets tilt the seat backwards
Alex Heath I agree, I've got some foz subframes and accord type R seats. Such a huge difference.
Great channel, love what you've done with this Clio, back to basics! If you ever come to selling the induction kit I'm on the lookout for one for my Ph1 172, cheers.
Simon Wright thanks mate, we’ve got some more Clio vids coming soon. Best place to find a cheap ktec induction kit is on the Renault sport Facebook groups 👍
@@GuysThatDrive nice one cheers, had a look and found one for sale at £100 but sold quickly. Got a new one from K-Tec for £140 so not too ruinous. Looking forward to the noise! Here's the build thread on my Ph1: www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=47&t=1778374
Had a PH1 airbox and an ITG filter on my 172, I went through so much fuel it was unreal. Swapped to a Ramair fatty for my new 172
Been a minute. Gonna hit the track anytime soon? I would love to see track footage.
Colyers we have a track day booked at Snetterton this Sunday so will be filming that if it goes ahead. We will find out today if the organisers will cancel it or not due to all the snow. Will be gutted if it gets cancelled as this was the one that we had to re-book due to the injector failure back in October last year!
Just fitted one to my cup last week. Sounds awesome. I'm looking at an omp suede wheel next then a pair of Corbeau clubsports. Some drive by videos would of been good. What tyres u looking at? I'm thinking yoko ad08 for mine.
Drivebys will happen don't worry, we were very pushed for time when filming this one so didnt get a chance to film any. We are looking for another set of wheels with track tyres, ideally a 2nd hand set of Team Dynamics 1.2s. Yokos, Federal, Nankang not too fussed, just need more grip! Steering wheel and seats will come at some point
Guys That Drive good choice. Keep the vids coming really enjoying your progress .
thanks mate, we will be making clio vids a bit more frequently from now on. However, unfortunately our track day this Sunday has been cancelled :(
Do u install suspensions and race bracks ? Nice work
Thought I saw you guys at Snetterton the other day but wasn't sure until I just saw the reg again. Hope it was a good one for you 👍
Yeah we were sliding about Snetterton on Tuesday! Was good fun just brought the wrong tyres to the party, the Toyo T1Rs are worse than shocking in the wet! Found out the hard way! What were you driving?
I have the silver 172 that was out, I have Federal 595R's which actually did a decent job, not ideal for the wet but we're surprisingly good considering they aren't really designed for the wet. I had the T1R's on a road car years ago so I know what you mean by shocking haha.
Nice video and nice serie ! Next step = suspension 👍🏻
Cheers! we are thinking get some track tyres next, get some proper grip going on! then suspension after
Love the sound ❤
Looking to buy a Phase 1 172 as my first car in a couple of days.
Definitely will fit K-Tec induction kit on it. :]
just an honest good advice from a guy that was a young driver and was looking for a fast car as his first car aswell. You are probbably in UK, so you aswell ahve twisty B roads and rather bad surfaces and shitty weather most time of the year i reckon. I honestly advice you something rather slow as first car, then after lets say 2 years get something semi capable, something in the 120hp range and turbo, then after some time you can get it remaped and get an aditional 25-30% in power, at that point the car will be no slow car anymore. Later on after u get used to that and drive it hard or take it to the track here and there. Then you are mostly prepaired for a fast car for your kind of road conditions. If you are planning to get that car just for track use aka. Track car, than thats OK and different case. I m speaking form my experience, if i had a fast car from the beginning i would be dead withing the 1st year period. I was looking for a civic VTI /SI, 1100kg, 160-180hp, i m glad my parents would not let me own anything like that as i m still alive and now i 6 years later i m slowly getting the moeny together and getting a propper cup track car
I go past that car every day wen I go to school theres a school near there called st josephs I go there its in guildford
im4sianGod the first Top spotting!!
How about an engine bay tidy? Battery relocation etc?
Also maybe seats and stuff?
Seats will be coming a bit later down the line. Need tyres and steering wheel first. Battery into the boot isnt a bad shout though
Great vid 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
LOL at 7 min mark watch the Insignia go backwards, Clio,s have great power to weight ratios even my 1.6 Clio with 110bhp throws me back in the seat when i floor it lol
What u doin with the old airbox guys?
Corey Club Gaming sell it I expect, you interested?
'I think someone's already had this off' well yes... air filters are replaced haha
he meant the whole airbox.. not just the top
Were you saying that a brand new k-text is about £500? That's insane. Makes Gruppe M look affordable.
No Ash was saying his 2nd had Eventuri intake for his m3 was about that! New K-tec's are about £160ish
K-tec
Damn that's crazy.
Sounds abit like VTEC
wheres the m3
Sounds like its got vtec
It has the Renault equivalent that kicks in around 4.5k rpm, once’s it’s above that the engine is an absolute ripper to the redline
@@GuysThatDrive had a phase 1 172 and now have a 182, the phase 1 never kicked in but went alot better lower down than my 182. I believe its just an advance the ignition timing that causes the kick unlike the higher lift and duration on the vtec system
