This series of commercials gave me goosebumps. Going back to the humble roots of players when it was just love for the game, and no guarantees of making a life out of it.
Yeah, but eventually short guys get an open rim and dunk it, and yet that "dunk" was a layup, face it, Nash is a 3pt specialist and 3pt specialists can't dunk
+Carlos Colon A little late on this but... Ray Allen, Steph Curry, JJ Reddick, Steve Nash and Kyle Korver can all dunk. Just doesn't happen often in game because they are behind the 3 point line predominately.
@Popularguy74 What do you mean it's not enough? It's given us a lot of great seasons. Just because it hasn't won us a championship doesn't mean we haven't enjoyed Steve Nash's presence in Phoenix. Do you understand, Popularguy74... ?
@Veneratio10 he has a back problem called spondylolisthesis, which is why you see him sitting on the floor instead of the bench to stretch out his back, also obviously you wouldn't dunk unless you can successfully do it everytime, based on his vert in his youth on this video, i doubt he ever dunked in a game. That being say, steve's underhand layup is just as pretty as any dunk IMO
I remember Steve Nash at 3 on 3 Hoop-It-Up in Winnipeg when I was ohh, 16-17 years old. Everyone was yelling "Dunk it! Dunk it, Steve!" He told us he couldn't dunk and didn't attempt. This is pretty close though I'd say.
@Dtoburn2 what do you mean? to meet steve nash as a young kid and play one on one against him would be amazing. Especially knowing in the back of your mind how far his career will go. This is a BRILLIANT way to use a time machine.
Funny when I'm walking around Toronto I see them every where I look. Also, I didn't know Anthony bennett, tristan thompson, andrew nicholson, robert sacre (probably half white), cory joseph(half white), Samuel Dalembert, Kriis Joseph, joel anthony, andrew wiggins were white.
listen up everybody, this video was originally taken without the kid in 1996, they edited the video later on and put the kid in the footage from when Nash was younger, creating the effect of a kid from the future telling Nash what will happen...your welcome
Love Nash, but a "Slam Dunk" is when "a player jumps in the air and manually powers the ball downward through the basket with one or both hands over the rim." This did not take place here.
While there are better ways to use it, if someone really loved Steve Nash there are still better ways to use it. I think he should have went to Steve right before Game 6 of the WCF against the Lakers and told him what Ron Artest would do at the end of the game.
I think he was just joking, (I'm black and not really offended), but you do have a point nonetheless. Btw I respect Canada and Canadians bro I kinda always want to visit your country one day.
@theshimine Explain the Playstation skills challenge from 2005 and 2006 when Steve did the lay up on the left side and his his LEFT hand touched that 10FT RIM!!!
yeah it was meant to be fake no one was trying to convince us it was real...lol. that's why Nash wasn't responding to him, they do it in movies all the time...lol
@chitowniswindy 1... its a commerical and 2 it is real from when he was a kid its green skilled check out the monta ellis commercial one its pretty sick. its just old film
All these NBA guys can dunk. Maybe a few can't, but Nash can dunk. He can't palm the ball and he can't jump very high so he needs a clear lane and to be running slow enough to keep control of the ball, something you don't get in the NBA. John Paxson from the Bulls was 6"1'. He never once dunked in the NBA, but I saw him dunk in warm ups about 20 times.
its a dunk. Pause at 0:11 and you will see he is holding the ball and hes putting in the hole above the rim. Its not a pretty dunk, and its barely a dunk, but he dunks it. It looks like he didn't even try either, i'm sure with a little more muscle he could have gotten much higher.
This series of commercials gave me goosebumps. Going back to the humble roots of players when it was just love for the game, and no guarantees of making a life out of it.
First of all he walked at the basket at like 1 mph, then he barely even jumped. Yet his hand was still above the rim.
+infodrumm He's 6'3 man.. That's easy if you're 6'3.
+Alex Hong Not as easy as you'd think
+Good Deeds Everyday I am 6'0 and I can dunk. If you're an NBA player with regular workouts, I'm pretty sure it should be easier.
@@alex-h.it’s not ez
@@jasonpasi7728 how is it not easy to jump 2 feet ?
i LOVED these commercials last year. i hope they make new ones this season...
This is NBA son. Everybody dunks! It's just hard to do it over other players that are 6'8".
Yeah, but eventually short guys get an open rim and dunk it, and yet that "dunk" was a layup, face it, Nash is a 3pt specialist and 3pt specialists can't dunk
He has height, besides in 2k he is an athletic shooting guard
+Carlos Colon A little late on this but... Ray Allen, Steph Curry, JJ Reddick, Steve Nash and Kyle Korver can all dunk. Just doesn't happen often in game because they are behind the 3 point line predominately.
The actual height of Steve Nash is 6'0 or 6'1..
"you going to love that shot in Phoenix" I LOVE that part!
how did they make this video? its very creative
They got one with kd too still at Texas they just edited it that's all
Time traveling!
@Popularguy74 What do you mean it's not enough? It's given us a lot of great seasons. Just because it hasn't won us a championship doesn't mean we haven't enjoyed Steve Nash's presence in Phoenix. Do you understand, Popularguy74... ?
This is actually really creative
For those that dont get it. The video is real from 1996. And the black kid is edited in a modern day video.
these commercials were so sick, they should make more
@Veneratio10 he has a back problem called spondylolisthesis, which is why you see him sitting on the floor instead of the bench to stretch out his back, also obviously you wouldn't dunk unless you can successfully do it everytime, based on his vert in his youth on this video, i doubt he ever dunked in a game.

@Matt777Zhu I think it was taken before Nash went to the NBA, but they added in that guy or something.
Out of all of this...I miss the fade that steve had...the 90's had the best haircuts
Who recognised Trevor Jackson ? The guy from Austin & Ally, and Agent KC
@laurentbooz Actually they digitally added his head to a current college players body
I missed the Dunk . . .
I'm a die hard Spurs fan--- this guy deserves a ring.
listen up everybody, this video was originally taken without the kid in 1996, they edited the video later on and put the kid in the footage from when Nash was younger, creating the effect of a kid from the future telling Nash what will happen...your welcome
He is an Actor off Disney Channel :D
"They're gonna love that shot in Phoenix."
And we do.
how did they get nash to interact with the kid though? taking the ball from him and stuff?
@jessetrend19 dear lord. Obviously the kid is not there. They took a video of nash when he was younger and swapped out the person who was with him
I swear that kid looks like he's from one of those show's from disney channel.
Love Nash, but a "Slam Dunk" is when "a player jumps in the air and manually powers the ball downward through the basket with one or both hands over the rim." This did not take place here.
Goosebumps every time...
Steve Nash played street ball with my Uncle Dale in Victoria.
They used a green screen and some pretty slick editing.....i majored in audio video production and we learned how to do stuff like this
I saw Steve Nash dunk in the game a couple of times. It was even in nba jam commercials
While there are better ways to use it, if someone really loved Steve Nash there are still better ways to use it. I think he should have went to Steve right before Game 6 of the WCF against the Lakers and told him what Ron Artest would do at the end of the game.
Aint that chris from that let it shine movie...? LOL
Trevor Jackson was edited in the video, Steve's coach was actually in the vid
Why is this video in my recommandations ?
By the way, who recognised Trevor Jackson ? The guy from Austin & Ally, and KC Undercover
I think he was just joking, (I'm black and not really offended), but you do have a point nonetheless. Btw I respect Canada and Canadians bro I kinda always want to visit your country one day.
i think nash is 6'4 believe that are not, he just looks small because hes out there with nba players
very good editing job!!
@jwahn1stunnaofdayear The fact that nash played in phoenix, went to dallas, the CAME BACK to phoenix must say something to u
@theshimine Explain the Playstation skills challenge from 2005 and 2006 when Steve did the lay up on the left side and his his LEFT hand touched that 10FT RIM!!!
is that the guy off of that Disney movie rapping
NBA heights are inflated. I met him. He's the same as me(6'1").
who's the back guy suppposed to be?
Have you been to East Vancouver?
Its like Brooklyn, lol
yeah it was meant to be fake no one was trying to convince us it was real...lol. that's why Nash wasn't responding to him, they do it in movies all the time...lol
@chitowniswindy 1... its a commerical and 2 it is real from when he was a kid its green skilled check out the monta ellis commercial one its pretty sick. its just old film

There gonna love that shot in la
i never understood what the kid said but now for some reason I do
"10 years from now youre gonna visit my school and youll help turn my life around"
Trevor Jackson.
That's so cool how they made this video
@MarkieB89 where can I see the vid of stephen curry?
these commercials were amazing.
@MarkieB89 Send me link to the Stephen Curry one. I can't find it anywhere
2 time MVP
I love Nash and I don't mean any disrespect. Let's just call that a really hard layup.
how do they do that with the guy and stuff? Technology is getting too advanced
should of told him not to join the lakers and to retire
they edited the original video.. it was his coach that was there instead of the kid. search for "The Origins of the Steve Nash Commercial"
The beat combo of passing/shooting in nba history nash was like that
isnt that the dude from let it shine
yeah but of all the things in the world you can think of, and all the player he couldve chosen to visit, he goes play steve nash
that's scary wtf 0.0
you forgot about the NBA champ Ring! and you can't tell i'm from the future, huh?
@HunterBrownstein26 what is the video called?
Why not? Extra money's always good for retirement. He's not doing this as a charity. Who wouldn't want the chance for a ring and a prolonged career?
Thats trevor jackson from the disney channel movie let it shine
its a dunk. Pause at 0:11 and you will see he is holding the ball and hes putting in the hole above the rim. Its not a pretty dunk, and its barely a dunk, but he dunks it. It looks like he didn't even try either, i'm sure with a little more muscle he could have gotten much higher.
hey, that kid's on t.v. now, damn he's everywhere
@Captain12Kirk6 dear lord. that editing isnt possible
damn, it is him.
OH my GOD it's Walt from LOST!

Why the kid sound like justin beiber
Oh yeah.
He played in a Disney show, Austin And Ally
how do they film this??
That kid is from let is shine omg cool
The commercials make me think ghosts are real. WTF
is this really taken before nash went to NBA?? anyone knows?
If you slow it way down, you can see that his hand is above the rim. It's a dunk. A weak dunk, but it's proof that he could dunk.
thats that boy from let it shine
thats is that kid from let it shine
haha Nash rocking a gold chain
trevor jackson from let it shine
THE VIDEO WAS REALLY OF HIM IN 96 THEY JUST ADDED THE KID TO IT TO MAKE IT A COMMERCIAL.
seems legit
why with the left hand? O.o
bro really is a time traveler but he got one thing wrong steve was a 8 time all star not a 7
year 1996?? 2 time mvp 7 time all star ??
@iamjohnism i kno, he can dunk, he just doesnt do it in games, he doesnt have to be able to do windmills and crap like that
let it shine
