  • I replace the Coolant Sensor, Radiator, Water Pump and Thermostat on the Chevrolet Colorado. The reason why I replace everything because my temperature gauge reads 3/4 and it still does.

    Short and to the point. Thank you. By the way I’ve always called the tool a crows foot. Thank you!

    Thanks for your approach, kept it simple and straight forward, easy to follow instructions without trying to dress it up with technical terms, keeping it real - really helped me out!

    Thanks for making the vid! It helped a lot. There's a socket that is used for this job. I didn't have a crows foot and nobody in this hemisphere had the socket so I bought one at Sears and modified it.

    What fixed my sons Colorado was the thermostat replacement. That damn thermostat and housing fixed it.

    If you replaced everything then it has to be a bad fan clutch. Its common hummer h3. Had to replace everything radiator, thermostat, sensor and finally fan clutch. I replace the water pump about 3 years but i would advise to replace the fan clutch while you're at it since you have to remove it anyway. They have a tendency to go bad which can damage your radiator, thermostat and sensor ( which is what happened to me).

    Thanks. My 06 colorado dies on a cold start when its 40°F or less. I've heard unplugging the sensor tricks the truck into thinking its -40° but Idk about all that shit. Id rather replace. Thanks guy

    Did the dash on your chevy Calorado say severe temp and that's why you had to change it?????

    How did you tighten it back on? I bought a similar crowfoot socket/wrench, but it was too thick to do any good. I ended up cutting the old one and using a deepwell socket to get it out. The problem I'm having right now is getting the new one tighter than hand-tight. Any suggestions?

    What was the reason u replaced all that? Only asking cause I have a 06 h3 and my temp gauge goes up 3\4 of the way until I start driving again then it goes back down. Just wondering if you experienced anything similar

      I have a 06 colorado 5cil. It was heating up like yours and I replacd thermostat, radiator, fan clutch(put on a severe duty one) and the water pump, qnd it fixed nothing untill I took out the thermostat and broke it and now it runs cook but the gauge dances up and down sometimes , so im gonna replace the swnsor and if it keeps going crazy ima hace to do the heads

    What wrench do I need to change the ect sensor for a chevy colorado 2017?

  • @rickmango5706
    @rickmango5706  10 ปีที่แล้ว

    No I did not drain the coolant just a little coolant came out when I removed the sensor. just put a pan under the sensor

  • @hib32
    @hib32 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    if my gauge just stopped reading, do I have to change that sensor?

  • @rickmango5706
    @rickmango5706  10 ปีที่แล้ว

    No that's how I removed it with that socket. Another way is buy a cheap 15 m m socket and cut it in the middle make it look like the oxygen sensor socket to removed it.

    Did you ever get the dreaded "A.C. Off" message in the DIC? I understand that a bad coolant temperature sensor can cause that message.

    My temp sensor doesn’t move from cold… do you think this is the reason ? It’s a colorado 3.5

    I changed the thermostat without taking off the tire
