Yes, you can get both the axe and the costume. The costume is hilarious but the Silver Shroud costume is better as Armour. However, I do use the axe as my melee character's weapon and it's fantastic!

I always thought it would be cool if they had a mechanic where goons would give up after you kill their boss, you can interrogate them, invite them to change their ways and live in your settlements and whatever, kill em anyway.
They missed the opportunity to include Mistress of Mysteries for female companions. And yes I know they added her in 76 but...76 is a terrible game and her costume doesn't give like any stats. I would've loved a Mistress of Mysteries outfit in 4. My male character would give Piper the outfit and we could go around as a vigilante team. Maybe go so far as give McCready Manta Man. Danse would be good as the Mechanist. Would've been a great idea to include the full Unstoppable cast.
Kent's stutter just made me love him as a character. So genuine. A boy who believed with star studded eyes in the hero's in his comic books. He is what the world needs and what the fallout world must protect.
I love how when you use the Silver Shroud voice options, the Lone Survivor sort of stumbles up on their words sometimes, like they’re thinking up what they’re gonna say on the fly. xD

I couldn’t save Kent at the end and was eventually convinced he was scripted to die any choosing that dialogue option, so I had no choice to give up the last part.
When I hunted down Northy I attacked his guys and he started running and the battle alerted a nearby deathclaw that swooped in smashing Northy. I dont know if it was a random encounter that had the deathclaw that close but it was priceless watching my quest get fulfilled by a deathclaw.
I had to do that quest with the ten-pines bluff bridge once, and apparently a really powerful Deathclaw spawned nearby and killed everyone there for me when I arrived.
Similar thing happened to me during smiling Kate. Some 5 mirelurks spawned near by the area. I attracted them to kate. She and gang did killed those by their health went down by large.
Adonis Batheus he's far too pure for this world. I absolutely adore him. Even in my most evil play throughs, he and Billy the Kid (in the fridge) I ALWAYS save no matter what. And if I somehow fail, I start again until the good ending happens.
I cant even fucking save him because of a stupid bug where the raiders and the robots kept fighting whenever i enter the hospital, getting kent killed before i even enter the room.
Also has an annoying bug, at least in the PC version, Kent's damned ass doesn't always go back to Goodneighbor, Had to go back there and drag his ass back using a console summon command (Didn't have his PRID handy).
I know this is an old video, but something made me actually laugh out loud when playing this quest. Sinjin was talking about how we’re gonna shoot the hell out of you and threatening me. and I skipped it and my character just went “uh huh”
You can do that to all the NPC’s and there’s some surprisingly hilarious snarky comments that the soul survivor will make depending on who you’re talking to.
something that always puzzled me, Sinjin thinks he can threaten goodneighbour, does he seriously think he's going to get past the extremely aggressive Assultron and their extensive armory? He'll be fucking target practice for an assultron face laser!
You can also save Kent with Jet stopping time. Most people in the commonwealth are too busy worrying if their bodies will succumb to radiation or chem addiction over the next 20 years. I'm too busy worrying if my organs will last me the next 20 minutes with how many chems I take.

I don't use chems and I saved Kent. You're supposed to challenge Sinjin to come after you first instead of Kent. Then you have about 6 seconds to mow him down before his goons rip you to shreds if you're not a high enough level.
I dunno. The male one doesn't sound like he's taking it entirely focused either. There's a lot of pauses like he's unsure he should be taking it seriously or not. The female one at least is going with gutso!
The male one is the better one. He sounds like hes making up the lines on the spot, which I like. While the female one sounds like she was reading from her pip-boy
Overall it's canon to play as a male. I would've preferred Oxhorn to go through the quest as a male mainly because it doesn't make sense having the Silver Shroud be a woman.
Not gonna happen... Just pay attention, I'm pretty sure he's using a mod that turns every non-named character into a woman. All his settlers are women and every single raider he encountered was a woman... He only wants women in his settlements but also only wants to kill women.
Belle Ingle I would quicksave when I arrived to speak with sinjin and when I kept failing I just kept loading the save to where I could start over, hope this helped.
I would love to see this happen. i also really enjoy Ox's voice. I think a Fo4 Ox-radio station would be cool, or even an Ox npc/companion. i think he'd put the Storyteller to shame, honestly ;)
The Silver Shroud and the Eddie Winter side quests are two of my favourites. And just for the dialogue from the mother, the "kid in a fridge" quest. lol Priceless.
The This quest is what I bring up everytime someone sais the quests in FO4 suck. This, the Cabot House quests, and The last Voyage of the USS Constitution.
@Droxy 56 I'd imagine theyd run out of options and have to ram it, and maybe someone like Jun Long will sacrifice himself to steer the ship if you don't do it. If you do it, you end up surviving, if he doesn't, he does not survive.
The problem is that certain parts of the main quest line suck. Also, the Brotherhood has reverted to being a bunch of self-fellating techno-fetishists with a superiority complex.
I'd love to hear an episode of the Silver shroud radio show where the two characters meet. Maybe they're saving that for Fallout 5 or New Vegas 2 though :P.
The trouble is that The Silver Shroud was just a comic and radio character. The Pint Size Slasher was a real serial killer from the time just before the bombs. A lot of people thought he was just an urban legend, but there were some references in FO3 that show someone was using the Slasher's MO. And of course, you find how he met his end in Point Lookout. Or at least, a Slasher did. it might have been a copycat killer.
The Silver Shroud is a favorite quest of mine, and the outfit is pretty slick as well. I'm a fan of the old radio plays like The Shadow. And I love your announcer voice.
You should give your Silver Shroud character a Stealth Boy and you have a real "The Shadow" homage going, as that is who the Silver Shroud is based on.
That's the radio version of The Shadow. The pulp version (from which the Shroud takes the most inspiration) was a master of stealth, but didn't turn invisible.
I consider it to be tied for the best quest in the game, along with the USS Constitution quest. (the ending to that just killed me) I intimidated the mooks via dialogue and one-shot Sinjin with my trusty gauss rifle, for what might be gaming's shortest escort mission ever...
Tried to stay in d constitution's deck just to see it fly off, felt like a kid going to neverland till i died by smashing onto that financial district building
During the USS constitution, I used noclip to fly onto the ship, and when it crashed into the building my character just fucking has a heart attack and dies. First time I've ever been satisfied with dying.
Love your homage to the Shadow, whom the Silver Shroud is based around. "Who knows what darkness lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow Knows!" Other little interesting tidbits Bethesda gave us. Kent Connolly's name is a play on the Shadows Alter ego from the original print versions, Kent Allard (In Radio and film his alter ego was Lamont Cranston). I'm guessing Rex Rheinhart is meant to be a variant on Moses "Moe" Shrevnitz, who was the Shadow's personal chauffer amongst other things.
this is one of my favorite quests in the game not only for the awesome silver shroud armor but it’s like a live version of one of the many comics you pick up and can only look at the cover and dream but never read. the comics in this game make me so happy, i would have loved to read tales like that as a kid, and the silver shroud radio is sooo atmospheric
I really enjoyed the change of pace for this quest. I was so happy when I stumbled on the silver machine gun and shroud costume but when I found out they had a quest attached I was over the moon. Really fun quest and great to feel like a hero, awesome video oxhorn,
The syringe rifle can also be found at what looks like a small market on the opposite side from vault 81 where you find some nuka cola bottles some melons, carrots, corn, even day tripper.
This was a huge help for me as I missed the levels to upgrade the armor on my new character (had it with my old one by accident apparently) Thank you so much for doing the work man really appreciate it
The interaction between the Silver Shroud and the kidnapper and gang. Save right before you confront the gang. Depending on charisma each dialog leads to crazy responses. One will make the gang turn on their leader,another makes the gang run in terror. You can even walk in and shoot the guy kidnapped and the gang says you are crazier than the boss and run. Best in Fallout
It always struck me how similar the Nuka-World gauntlet is to the multi-story car park next to Milton General Hospital; given how it even leads to the hospital via a footbridge and a boarded up door, it makes me wonder if it wasn't originally intended as a gauntlet for the Silver Shroud, on the way to rescuing Kent Connolly, but dropped as a story element in favor of saving it for the Nuka-World dlc. There's even at least one speaker attached to a wall in the garage, suggesting that Bethesda intended for someone to be taunting you as you progressed, and there are a couple of lines of raider dialogue in the hospital that fit as well - something about how you got further than the last guy, I seem to recall.
I told my mom "Hey, check it out! Tom Hanks made a video where he explains how the code behind fallout 4 works!" and she listened for about 45 seconds and said "Wow! Silver shroud is my fave missions. I love using the shroud voice. Also, the shroud armor is still what i use for armor. I think Mr adorable Kent has upgraded me to around 80 damage protection by now after i saved him. Love kent. Id protect that gem with my life.
The Silver Shroud is a cool Questline; given it gives a look into the Comic Book world in the Fallout Universe, it's very different to role-play as a Superhero that's based on 1930's Noir fiction. The costume's cool, the name "Silver Shroud" is cool, and the fact that they made it a Comic Book themed questline makes it stand out more; very memorable.
Love the shroud. It is a fun and entertaining questline, especially of you're a fan of The Shadow, as that seems to be the inspiration behind the quest.

After I reloaded five or so times so I could save Kent, Codsworth's first affinity talk triggered as soon as I left the hospital. A suicider blew us up before I could get through all the dialogue, and kept blowing us up the next two tries. Fun times. XD
Actually you don't have to use chems to instantly kill Sinjin, all you need to do is upgrade your Rifleman perk to 1, or 2 levels and use a Critical 4-crank Laser Musket at max charge. The Laser Musket is extremely good at sniping, and can easily kill Sinjin in a single critical shot to the head
I like Hancock, my second favorite companion. He is truthful and embraces the shades of grey. In matter of fact, Goodneighbor is all that. NPCs keep bad mouthing the place, but I find it full of interesting characters.
4:50 During my battle with AJ, one of his bodyguards actually ran from the fight and I found him hiding behind Cleo's counter. When I was looting his body I found a fatman and realized he had stolen it from Cleo, which explained why she was nervously pacing back and forth.
On a playthough of Fallout (I like to call it my shit happens playthrough) I did no go-backs. It was really hard to deal with on quests like this one and other ones where you have to kill someone quickly or they die. I was also trying to do no deaths to avoid trying to do something different so If I died i planned on deleting the game. Eventually I died......to a level one mole-rat. Oh the irony.

If you have Hancock as a companion before you do the quest, he has unique dialogue.

26:12 Blows Kent's head off in a spray of bullets while trying to kill Sinjin, and says that Sinjin did it. I laughed my ass off.

A lot of people thought he was just an urban legend, but there were some references in FO3 that show someone was using the Slasher's MO. And of course, you find how he met his end in Point Lookout. Or at least, a Slasher did. it might have been a copycat killer.
I literally played this scene over 5 times to keep that nice boi alive. I felt so terrible letting Kent die.
The Silver Shroud is a favorite quest of mine, and the outfit is pretty slick as well. I'm a fan of the old radio plays like The Shadow. And I love your announcer voice.
You should give your Silver Shroud character a Stealth Boy and you have a real "The Shadow" homage going, as that is who the Silver Shroud is based on.
*correction: The Shadow is one of the characters he was based on, not the only. My bad ^^.
In terms of appearance and design, I would have gone with a genderbent 'Silhouette' from The Watchmen

I consider it to be tied for the best quest in the game, along with the USS Constitution quest. (the ending to that just killed me) I intimidated the mooks via dialogue and one-shot Sinjin with my trusty gauss rifle, for what might be gaming's shortest escort mission ever...

Tried to stay in d constitution's deck just to see it fly off, felt like a kid going to neverland till i died by smashing onto that financial district building
During the USS constitution, I used noclip to fly onto the ship, and when it crashed into the building my character just fucking has a heart attack and dies. First time I've ever been satisfied with dying.

Love your homage to the Shadow, whom the Silver Shroud is based around. "Who knows what darkness lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow Knows!"
Other little interesting tidbits Bethesda gave us. Kent Connolly's name is a play on the Shadows Alter ego from the original print versions, Kent Allard (In Radio and film his alter ego was Lamont Cranston).
I'm guessing Rex Rheinhart is meant to be a variant on Moses "Moe" Shrevnitz, who was the Shadow's personal chauffer amongst other things.

this is one of my favorite quests in the game not only for the awesome silver shroud armor but it’s like a live version of one of the many comics you pick up and can only look at the cover and dream but never read. the comics in this game make me so happy, i would have loved to read tales like that as a kid, and the silver shroud radio is sooo atmospheric

I really enjoyed the change of pace for this quest. I was so happy when I stumbled on the silver machine gun and shroud costume but when I found out they had a quest attached I was over the moon. Really fun quest and great to feel like a hero, awesome video oxhorn,
The syringe rifle can also be found at what looks like a small market on the opposite side from vault 81 where you find some nuka cola bottles some melons, carrots, corn, even day tripper.
This quest is Fallout 2 silly, one of the best quests in this game!

The interaction between the Silver Shroud and the kidnapper and gang. Save right before you confront the gang. Depending on charisma each dialog leads to crazy responses. One will make the gang turn on their leader,another makes the gang run in terror. You can even walk in and shoot the guy kidnapped and the gang says you are crazier than the boss and run. Best in Fallout

It always struck me how similar the Nuka-World gauntlet is to the multi-story car park next to Milton General Hospital; given how it even leads to the hospital via a footbridge and a boarded up door, it makes me wonder if it wasn't originally intended as a gauntlet for the Silver Shroud, on the way to rescuing Kent Connolly, but dropped as a story element in favor of saving it for the Nuka-World dlc. There's even at least one speaker attached to a wall in the garage, suggesting that Bethesda intended for someone to be taunting you as you progressed, and there are a couple of lines of raider dialogue in the hospital that fit as well - something about how you got further than the last guy, I seem to recall.
Bethesda put kid skeletons in Fallout 3 but didn't in Fallout 4...

Silver shroud is my fave missions. I love using the shroud voice. Also, the shroud armor is still what i use for armor. I think Mr adorable Kent has upgraded me to around 80 damage protection by now after i saved him. Love kent. Id protect that gem with my life.
i like to put the armor piercing automatic attachment on my weapons, does alot more damage especially against legendary enemies

The Silver Shroud is a cool Questline; given it gives a look into the Comic Book world in the Fallout Universe, it's very different to role-play as a Superhero that's based on 1930's Noir fiction. The costume's cool, the name "Silver Shroud" is cool, and the fact that they made it a Comic Book themed questline makes it stand out more; very memorable.
Love the shroud. It is a fun and entertaining questline, especially of you're a fan of The Shadow, as that seems to be the inspiration behind the quest.
Best. Intro. Ever. Nuff said.

Over time, you can get upgrades for the Silver Shroud getup and essentially give it Ballistic Weave.
i thought most people saved kent? i also almost always have high charisma so charisma checks arent an issue.

After I reloaded five or so times so I could save Kent, Codsworth's first affinity talk triggered as soon as I left the hospital. A suicider blew us up before I could get through all the dialogue, and kept blowing us up the next two tries. Fun times. XD
If Bethesda didn’t eventually hire ox to voice a character they’re going to have some hard questions to answer...
Actually you don't have to use chems to instantly kill Sinjin, all you need to do is upgrade your Rifleman perk to 1, or 2 levels and use a Critical 4-crank Laser Musket at max charge. The Laser Musket is extremely good at sniping, and can easily kill Sinjin in a single critical shot to the head
I love the noir elements in the fallout universe.

NPCs keep bad mouthing the place, but I find it full of interesting characters.

4:50 During my battle with AJ, one of his bodyguards actually ran from the fight and I found him hiding behind Cleo's counter. When I was looting his body I found a fatman and realized he had stolen it from Cleo, which explained why she was nervously pacing back and forth.
On a playthough of Fallout (I like to call it my shit happens playthrough) I did no go-backs. It was really hard to deal with on quests like this one and other ones where you have to kill someone quickly or they die. I was also trying to do no deaths to avoid trying to do something different so If I died i planned on deleting the game. Eventually I died......to a level one mole-rat. Oh the irony.

There's a speech check you have to pass in order to save him.
Beds close together with no privacy curtains is actually better than modern day Canada, where we have people being kept overnight on gurneys in hallways.
