  • City of Banjul, Gambia (Africa) - full tour of Banjul in Gambia, Africa. Let's go visit BANJUL which is the capital city of the GAMBIA, a small West African country bordered by Senegal. Banjul sits on an island where the Gambia River meets the Atlantic Ocean. Banjul's colonial buildings include the National Museum, dedicated to Gambian culture and history. Vendors at the lively Albert Market in Banjul sell colorful textiles and local produce. The city's main entrance is marked by the immense, columned Arch 22 gateway.
The Gambia is a small West African country, bounded by Senegal, with a narrow Atlantic coastline. It's known for its diverse ecosystems around the central Gambia River. Abundant wildlife in its Kiang West National Park and Bao Bolong Wetland Reserve includes monkeys, leopards, hippos, hyenas and rare birds. The capital, Banjul, and nearby Serrekunda offer access to beaches.

Hello to all my friends around the world! Here's a video of a city that few tourists visit, the city of Banjul, the fascinating capital of Gambia in Africa! I had a great time videotaping the various sites as I walked around for 3 hours.. Enjoy the views.. Please subscribe and do not forget to 'Like' the video, it means so much to me, thank you!

I'm from Gambia and I left the country ( The Smiling Coast Of Africa ) during the dictatorial regime.
Yes we are backward in terms of technology, infrastructure and economy
But we have humanity and hospitality, we may not have much but we share among ourselves the little we have.
Gambia is among the few countries whereby when you ( a stranger )are passing by a compound and they are eating they would invite you and insist until you join them.
One night I got out of our compound and saw two unfamiliar men standing, I went to them and spoke to them but they couldn't speak except in English, I asked where from and they said Nigeria and Ghana, they were new and heading to Banjul so I brought them home and gave them my room to sleep and in the morning the family gave them money and clothes and explained the way to Banjul.
This is what Gambia is known for, we may not have technology and infrastructure due to poor leadership but the people are one of the best.
I live in The West now and you know what would happen to me if someone finds me in front of their compound at night.
By the way, we also have better places than what you've shown us in Banjul.

Anywhere they sell fish, it'll smell fish, whether in Asia, Europe or Albert market, in Banjul. Next time Vic you visit Gambia, take some old footballs & give to the children. Their parents're busy putting food on the table. As I've heard you saying, the football has seen better days. You stood quiet a long time to show a stagnant water, from probably a broken water pipe. All those lorries, you were referring to in the city're there to transport goods to the neighbouring countries, like Senegal(south) Guinea Bissau & Mali etc... The peacefulness of the country makes it safer for ocean going vessels to deposit cargoes in the Gambia, because of safety reasons. We're one nation & one people. You either love the Gambia or you hate it!
We're not rich, but we've peace of mine & happiness, which no one can buy with money. It doesn't matter if the majority're earning 70$ per month or 1000$ per annum, we still've a smile on the face. We've what many westerners're looking for, joy, happiness, love & peace of mind.

@@VicStefanu You're welcome. To make a documentary, let the viewers make their own judgements. One should be objectively in reporting, what you see & not what you feel. If a visitor enjoys staying an hour at the Albert Market, so be it. You can stay 15 minutes or less, that's fine too, but let us decide that for ourselves. Thank you for reading, my comments & I'll be watching you.

What is poverty, the people own their homes always have food to eat, and always smiling. People in big city and still poor. Even on the teacher salary they still own their property and not in poverty. Technology do not makes one rich.
It is Land that makes you rich.

Simple demolish that city banjul, turn it into one of the biggest port in Africa. Compensate the residential houses each 1 million dalasis, no electricity or water bills for a year, for the business building 3 to 4 million dalasis.

    • @omsonsiize6180

Banjul is unlike other Cities, a historical City. For you it's quite easy to say "demolish it" , but because neither of your grand parents or parents or yourself were born and grew up there. Smh. If a Government finds it hard to build the City, which is cheaper, then how the hell. Use ya brain.
