I also have a Grizzly 513 bandsaw. It is now 5 years old and has been a beat! I will add another bandsaw in the future. Probably a 19 or 20" so I can keep the big one for resawing and cutting large bowl blanks. You will love this bandsaw!
Can't go wrong with Grizzly! The only problem I have is the fact that I live less than an hour and a half from their Springfield store and has helped me rack up lots of "wasted" hours wandering around in there like a kid in a candy store.....
It is your TH-cam video audience from three years ago. I think I started woodworking around that. When you look at the carpentry of life you need to look at the carpentry is very beautiful :)
Very nice bandsaw. I just received my Grizzly 14". It's sitting in my garage. I removed all the side protection wood slats. How did you get it off the wooden pallet?
Love the improvements they made to the mobile stand. The previously designed one I got with my 14" works great, but those new cam-based levers on the feet to prevent it from rolling are much better than the old screw-based ones. Enjoy the new saw, love seeing your shop come together.
I’m looking at this saw- thanks for sharing. I’m also looking at mobile bases and have all but settled on the shop fox heavy duty D2058A with cast iron casters. It looks a lot like yours but with steel wheels. I’ve heard the plastic ones and rubber coated ones do not last. How is your base holding up? Also, wouldn’t you want to rotate 90 degrees so the cantilever wheels extend on the side and not the front? Isn’t the “tipping concern” left/right? Of course you have to orient so that the front are over the “flush wheels” so lower cabinet can open. Thanks
I have the same model but with the brake, the control panel is different, Mine has a brother-in-law lock. With a removable key🤣, One thing that I did make is a dust shroud Around the bottom of the table top out of 1/4 plywood. And ran a 2.5 inch hose down the the dust collection. This keeps the saw dust off the top of the table and clean around the bearings. It all held together with neodymium magnets so if I need to tilt the table it all comes apart very simply. I will agree it is a great Band saw. Oh mine is 240 volts only as it is the 2 HP with the electric and mechanical brake.
This will be my choice for my third bandsaw, the one you have, I have a 14 inch 30 Anniversary addition bandsaw I traded my 17 inch 35 year anniversary addition bandsaw for this smaller one, I will get the one you have at a later date, who knows maybe the price will drop down a bit by then, I also took the extra money $400.00 that I took with the trade & I picked up older 14 inch jet bandsaw I got for only $500.00 on Facebook market place, In total took out of pocket $100.00 because the 17 inch 35 year anniversary bandsaw was given to me, I can’t wait to get the 14 inch that you have! I am planning on making a workshop out of an old mobile trailer! Nice video by the way I think I have watched it 3 or 4 times!
I stumbled across your video bc I was interested in this item on the Grizzly website and thanks to your code I unexpectedly saved a lot of money. Thank you for that!
I have a several grizzly items, high quality performance at a really good price. just love the 24" VS drum sander and the dove tail machine. Have cut some nice veneer 13" cheery and hard maple with their bandsaw. I am sure your going to love your new bandsaw. I am still impressed with mine.
Did you notice the Grizzly also cut out bear head stencils in your upper wheel? Did they do the same on the lower wheel? Which filtration mask were you using?
I really enjoyed your video on the G0513X2, which I just ordered 5 minutes ago, thank you for the information and presentation., I know it is a lot of work to put these together. I have a comment and a question.........first, your code "DARBIN10" provided me a significant discount, much appreciated and secondly would you consider placing the two fixed casters on the back of the saw and the two swivel casters on the front. My existing G0555XH mobile stand uses swivel in the front and fixed in the back and I really like it; however, I am certainly open to new ideas. Thanks
Me to I have a 14 inch 33 year anniversary model I will end up buying this saw seen in the video maybe next year! It’s a bit expensive! I know I could buy a Grizzly 17” bandsaw for a little over $1200.00 but this one comes wired for a lower amp I like that because my workshop will be in a converted camper,
very cool. are you going to make a nice 'before start/after use' reminder sign for it like you had on the old 14-12? after I saw yours, I made one like you used to have for on my 14-12 and it is quite useful. :)
In Europe, from our salary we can buy only a crappy einhell :) If my wife were to buy things like these, I feel like I wouldn’t miss anything else in my life anymore.
Really nice machine Linn. Good luck with it. Was in your neck of the woods just yesterday and if I knew right where you are located I would of stopped by for a visit and of course to pet Darbin :)
Well, lucky you, I have been trying to get a lousy discount on a new lathe and lathe extension but its easier to get blood out of a rock!! The Darbin10 is just on this saw. ask Grizzly to give you a code for 10 percent off store wide maybe? You seem to be doing ok by them.
Thanks for the great review and the coupon codes. I was looking at the same saw, but with the foot brake. Unfortunately, Grizzly won't accept your code on the G0513X2F, just on the G0513X2. How long does it take for the blade to stop spinning after you shut down this saw? I'm just worried about safety if anyone else is in the shop. I don't want to worry about a quiet saw coasting down causing an accident. Would you mind doing a video of a shutdown with a paint mark or something on the saw blade to see how long it takes to stop? Thanks for any feedback!
1 month update: I purchased the G0513X2BF and am very happy to have the foot brake/stop. I've been resawing large pieces with the fence and find I prefer to position myself outside the blade, away from the power switch. Having a second foot switch is very convenient. If you're debating, just splurge and get one with a foot switch.
Most homes have 220V supplied to the panel, I have a 220V outlet at the cloths dryer and the stove. But I have a natural gas dryer and stove. So no inverter is needed.
Hi . There's some extensive tooling up going on here in the workshop , top quality tools for a top quality girl in the shop , it will be interesting to see what future design work and project work will becoming out from the girl in the shop .
Those bigger peace's of wood that are being put through the band saw, be careful not to put to much pressure on the band saw blade , because the tracking could get seriously damaged .
@@emeltea33 I think it was just brand loyalty. I already had a circular sander, drill press and mortiser by JET, so I went with them for the band saw. Grizzly makes great ones, as you can see, and that 10 percent discount is fantastic!
WOW!! What a beauty! Only us girls would think a band saw is beautiful, LOL. What I love about Grizzly products is they still use cast iron and steel in their machines. Not as well as a band saw from the 1920s-50s, but still very well-made. I dream of having a band saw with that kind of depth and re-saw capability's, but, alas my shop is too small, so a 14" it is. I'm thrilled for you both and for the project builds you will be making! Can I ask when you say you have "partnered" with Grizzly, does that mean you got a discount, or they gave you the band saw? Just curious because I have you use that before. I also was thinking about August and this shop you are creating. What an awesome skill in woodworking to teach a child. He will learn to love it as much as you. PS- what happened to the wood flooring?
Hi Darbin looks real good. I have the Grizzly G0555X 14'' I have had it for a year. It is a Beast and it cuts real good it replaced my old Craftsman witch was under powered. I have never had a problem with it all. I just got my new Grizzly table saw this June for my birthday. A real great improvement over my old General cabinet saw. keep up the great videos.
One thing that I noticed straight away was how quiet it is, I have an old beat up 14 " bandsaw but it is very loud compared with yours, I am getting jealous

We bought one in Germany for our workshop, 5 months old now, here its sold as Optimum machines. It's very quiet.

Kind of surprised they didn't include a spotlight attachment. Really helps with delicate and intricate cuts!!
How did you move it off the palette into the rolling stand? I got this machine used and it still is on the palette. Good unboxing!
This looks like a great saw. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it for many years.
Hi Lynn, I'm in the market for this saw, The base... Can you move it easily forward and backwards? Keep up the great work!
I've had this exact same saw for over a year now. I love it. Get a Lenox Trimaster carbide tipped blade on it, and it'll work so much better.
Thank you I will do that when I order mine! Great advice
That is a beautiful saw! Looking forward to seeing it used for many new projects!
What model is the mobile casters that you attached? Been in looking to upgrade my G0555, thanks for your reply
I bought one just like it, thanks to you! :) Thank you for posting the video!
Are you going to make something from the packing crate? I think that would be interesting, you know a recycling project.

How long does this saw take for the blade to stop? I’m looking at this model and the one with the brake but it’s a few hundred more.
It takes a while, the brake is probably worth it.
How quiet is the saw when running?
Amazing new tool, Linn!!! 😃
Congrats!!! Use it as it was a toy! 😃
That is a very nice bandsaw, seems like it cuts really smooth. Nice upgrade Linn enjoy it!!!
Thanks for being honest/up-front and including the "includes paid promotion" flag for this video.
Didn't you have a Laguna in the past?
You have the right tools, let the work come..
Lynn just went to the Grizzly tent sale a week ago.Half my shop is Grizzly they make a great product at an affordable price.
if you're not outside the US. Than miraculously the price raises (and I'm not talking about shipping charges, just the base price).
Are those Grizzly-heads-spaces on the wheels of this saw?
Sure looks like it to me.
I thought it was a cool little extra touch.
What brand/model is the mobile base?
Nice piece of kit Linn !!!
What is the model of the roller base?
Beautiful !!! The band saw too...😊

Pretty sure it does, just try it.

A great bandsaw for a great lady!

No mention of the grizzly shaped cutouts on the wheels?! They’re so cool!
Nice saw. Don’t buy an undersized thickness planer, Grizzly has a good 16 & 20 inch models that are affordable. PS, Good Luck 👍 Vinny 🇺🇸
